Love these older fans, especially this one that has the unique 4-blade propeller, since most table fans like this from the 1980s and 1990s have 3 blades.
Funny, I always found myself looking for fans in movie backgrounds as well. I think top gun pretty much takes the cake as far as vintage for Fan spotting.
Got one of these. The grills on these always seem to have broken segments in them. The only fan I have encountered that has a motor that is just as heavy or heavier is the calor bivolt fans. Also the blades on these seem to be very similar to the blades used on the calor bivolt fans.
Yes the Bombardier Electrostar is a train but has nothing to do with Electrostar the company sadly . Electrostar as a company is alive and well but based in Egypt .
I always just assumed that the yellowing was cigarette damage rather than plastic degradation. Would bleach worl for the white. (For the love of God don't try it 😂) great video mate
Yeah it's something to do with fire-retardant chemicals in certain plastics. Smoking does help either but it's the UV light and these chemicals I believe. People who collect old computers and games consoles have the same problem and this is where it came from
@RichieRouge206 I uses to have a quilte yellow commodore 64. I mean ps1. I'm showing my age. The plastic looks so brittle on the fan. Keep her away from the uv lights

The 4 blade is amazing isn't it? I'll be doing a review of my 4 blade fans at some point

If you look carefully while watching the old labyrinth film (the one with Bowie in it), you can see an electrostar on a shelf in Sarah's bedroom.
Ooooo I need to find that
Yeah, I get yellowing on some of my fans. I think it has to do with whether they sit in the sun or under fluorescent lights.
Yeah it seems to react with an anti- flammable compound in the plastics manufacture
That’s really unfortunate that over time that happens to plastic parts on vintage fans I enjoyed the video
It is, it's ruined a few fans I've had in the past. It's like self-destruction 😪 Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you

I'll be doing a video at some point of a very rare fan I found that Electrostar made that's related to the Blue Star!
electrostar today is the family of well, *electrostar* trains that are on Southern, Southeastern, Gatwick Ex, Heathrow Ex and GWR.

these are one out of 8 80s fans i hate
just because of the grill, yes it is a beauty. But having a frill like that is not user friendly

That is a great film for fans!! One memorable one for me is the fan in Twister that the camera pans past the pack off
