So true about the F4 modding community being fragile. "Just don't use old mods" isn't really an option.
That is insane how underdeveloped the next gen patch is. Wow 60 FPS?! How will god Howard bless me this time. Feels like everybody was hyping up the patch bc the game is dead AF. Skyrim can survive the dumb updates bc they actually have a passionate active community that dwarfs F04. I at the very least hope they can do the bare minimum like untying physics from frame rate. The the “next gen update” looks more like an excuse to sell creations than it was anything else tbh. Very sad.
I mean what were you expecting, the update is literally named after the consoles. Skyrim's Next Gen update also included 60 fps and some free creation club items. Its the exact same
@@Yucci I think it lines up more with how little coverage it had, if it was going to be massive than Bethesda would’ve put a lot more coverage on it. I think internet hype gased up what it would be. It’s good they still wanna make the game playable on console. I think everyone just really wants a remaster or anniversary edition to bring in more people / more content. When it’s a patch that relatively doesn’t do alot like this, it lowers community morale.
@@inconspicuousboar3177 Yeah I get you. It was disappointing for sure but it’s also what I expected. A 60fps patch for consoles. To be fair now that I think about it I recall them saying this update was gonna include graphical upgrades but it was very vague and maybe I misread
@@Yucci I don’t play on console anymore but don’t a lot of games have 144 support now? Or is 60 still the standard? Idk what reasonable updates are for next gen since it seems to mostly target console
@@inconspicuousboar3177 yeah it’s mainly for consoles. But I also thought that was what Next gen was referring to since PC don’t really come in generations.
But yeah most games support high refresh rates. Even Fallout 4 does with some simple tweaks.
I can't imagine how Arthmoor is gonna react to people asking for old versions of his mod once this releases.
Guess it's time to download now and just store it somewhere. I hate that guy.

I got 3 more days to have modded Fallout 4, I pray that some modders are gonna have pity on us and update their mods. (Also RIP London mod)
So, what is the chance the Lever Action Rifle will be fixed to reload 1 round at a time instead of always reloading 5 rounds? A bugfix 9 years in the making, and probably wishful thinking.
It would be great to see some of the Fallout 76 guns brought to FO4, regardless of what anyone thinks of 76 it has vastly more weapon variety than FO4.
Would take modders doing it and my guess is modders will abandon the game
@@biggie_boss Doesn't "bullet counted reload" on the Nexus already fix that issue? I have it installed and with shotguns or lever action rifles it only reloads the amounnt of bullets I actually shot. So modders already fixed that ages ago. :D
This is a prelude to a fast cash grab, Howard in no mercy mode, the TV series is a hit, so as Cyberpunk 2077 had a revival after the anime, he expects the same results.
From what I have seen there has indeed been a decent revival...but a lot of it is with New Vegas.
I believe he might be preparing for a 10th anniversary update/re-release next year
The only mods I’ve played with are the ones I’ve enabled through the mods section within game. Are these safe at all? I have not gone through Nexus nor have I installed script extenders. I’m on PC obviously.
EDIT - The only one I’m concerned about is whether or not the cheat terminal mod will survive the update? It’s even a mod listed on Bethesda’s main page.

time to backup fallout 4 into a seperate folder
Already got an extra MO2 backup and an extra clean backup of the base game while Steam auto updates are disabled. I won't let Bethesda mess with my 1100 mods MO2 list I poured countless hours in, just nope. :)
@alexwalters35 Spliting the community in half in term of modding, the Fallout 4 modding is already the weakest in the Bethesda community, fallout NV is prob 2x bigger

AE was the paid update, not the free one. This is the free one, hence why we only get a handful. It's the exact same as SSE.

Thanks for the reminder, had to go make sure the game won't auto update since the list I'm using doesn't use a root game folder inside it. Not even sure if FO4 has that ability since I've only seen it for Skyrim.
FO4 can use stock game but the stock game folder is 35GB so most lists don't use it
Unofficial Fallout Patch on both console and PC fixes the bugs, though it's fantastic to now be baked in. PC and Xbox already have 60 fps, though optimized for Boston would be very welcome. Other than that, a few weapon and clothing skins? Seriously, Next Gen update? Free update is great, but that is what they should have billed it as. Free update with optimizations and bug fixes. Don't call it a next gen update and then release what they are releasing.
TV show, fantastic. Fallout London, fantastic. Next gen patch? What a disappointment, and I don't believe I was expecting much.

For many mods, yes. But mods with .dll changes also break and would need to be updated.

To clarify, as long as you remain on the older Fallout 4 version and only ever start up the game via MO2 or script extender, yes, you are good. You can still use the .dll mods you currently use. As I said, as long as the game files stay the same/aren't updated, everything remains fine, starting the game over the script extender. Heck, that's what I've done with Skyrim for the past 2+ years now. :D

Already did that a long time ago. Can recommend it to anyone who can't be bothered less by breaking their game/mod list with this update.

I can't start my Fallout 4 run before completing my Skyrim run. Guess I'll be playing with 15 mods as opposed to 150. Howard knows how much trouble these updates cause us, quit giving us "free updates" none of us want. Oh, and FUCK the paid mods scheme.

I think raytracing would’ve been a good add, especially for PC players. The CC content is welcome but underwhelming Bethesda updates seem to be the norm nowadays. People had their expectations way too high for this imo
I have the Xbox Series S, forget there fixes the game looks good already. Give us some mod room. Currently Xbox users get 2 gbs for mods, just for your info Biggie.
I'll say this as a Skyrim SE/AE player, this sucks and I'm sorry for modlist users. However, having bought the GOTY edition of FO4 and basically never played it beyond 5 minutes, I am excited to at least give it another go on steam deck, but I do feel bad for the modlist players on PC who's game is about to break like Skyrim did.

Cant believe it took this much time for what they are giving one new quest line a few weapons CC content that has already been released before and who the hell cares about 38 Halloween decorations when it’s April. Like seriously thats one of your perks your pushing Halloween decorations lame as hell. The damn resolution better look absolutely amazing and give a straight 60fps the whole damn time no matter where u are or what’s going on and I’m going to be really pissed if using mods and cc content still breaks the game if it does I am done with Bethesda and their BS completely I just want to be able to enjoy the game(whether this or something else) with the options the game gives especially when I pay for it like cc content. On paper fallout is my favorite ip ever but Bethesda isn’t the best at delivering on the quality I expect from AAA developers
So disappointing. The only good thing is ultrawide support. 😮
Trust me, as a console and PC player with Fallout, the update is just as disappointing on consoles. They are advertising what is already available.
