Just wanted to update, I went from Platinum 2 to Mythic with this deck with just a couple tweeks. Added 2 Painful Quandry cuz it just ends the games once you empty their hand with sweepers. Up the Beanstalk is just so strong. And the deck makes every removal and Breach the Multiverse basically a blank. Just wanted to say thanks again for this awesome and versatile shell. Another fun deck Sloth. This one is pure evil genius. I won almost all of my games, and every single win, my opponent was left ground down with nothing to do but concede.
I am absolutely LAUGHING my a$$ off ! The commentary is hilarious in this one. "You remember invoke despair?" _scoops_ The opponent plays hopeful initiate: "i think we won, right?"
I call this deck sweep up the beanstalk. Wow great job on 10K! Is it just me or does any one else hear sloths voice when they play? "they have something" lol Much love brother Keep it up!

That deck absolutely works :). I built it, had to make some adjustments as I did not want to invest too many rare wildcards. Joined a game, opened up with two cottages against Mono Black. Dropped Up the Beanstalk in round 3, opponent looked at the card and conceded.
This reminds me of original Ravnica Standard, a deck called Solar Flare. That thing was card draw, removal, and a reanimator engine called Debtors Knell.
Funnily enough, I cleared the last two tiers of diamond to get to mythic with this deck, so I do believe your win rate was skewed. This deck is hilarious against any midrange or aggro deck. You can feel the rage through the screen against mono red when you resolve a union followed by march of wretched sorrows.
Yeah, I had some insane mana screws, it felt completely off-normal tbh. But it feels deck has a lot of strong synergies, and it hits meta just right with all aggro around. And everything that makes mono red, more red on the face - is my joy😂😈🦥
It’s a cool deck and seems to work well. Curious why the Cleave cost doesn’t trigger beanstalk though? Isn’t cleave an alternate casting cost and thus effects the mana value?
Alternative costs doesn't affect the mana value. X is counted as part of the mana value while being on the stack, but different ways to cast a spell doesn't alter the price in the corner, this is the reason Force of Will works with Up the Beanstalk. Adventures, Aftermath and Split Cards are different, they are like multiple spells with multiple costs in one.

You know what would be good with up the beanstalk? A certain goose that has X in its cost. So yea, still waiting for that goose deck. Just look at how sad and lonely that goose pet of your is; just sitting there waiting for you to make a deck where she can shine. And is that really how you want to treat your precious pet?

Yeah, I get why - this deck is kinda hard counter to "I kill you with creatures", especially if you play more "fair" creature decks, that aren't mono red speed. It's pretty degenerate deck tbh😂😈🦥 I think the only saving grace is not hitting Beanstalk - this card is key to deck being insane
Amazing deck as always! I had a long brake at mtg arena and i back about few ranked seasons ago. I got hooked with the idea to get mythic with my own deck. As you might imagine I'm totally failed BUT after i watched a few dozen videos at your channel my mtg skills came back to me! And today finally got my mythic with self made boros control with 72% win rate! (final version deck stats, diamond 3 to mythic with 26 - 10) This is the amazing mtg channel, keep going man you are the best! P.S. Where is deck with goose mother? With this setup I have alternative win cons and can win without bombardment on the board. Man, that's some crazy combo :D I think it will be risky, as we don't have creatures, so thalia will probably always eat removal on next turn - but synergy is pretty hilarious and can help at times :)

I've seen a 5 color deck yesterday with invasion of alara. It beats itself when you play it giving you insane value for just 5 mana. I,ll try to find a list if you're interrested. Beatiful deck as always, the planeswalker deck is doing wonders for me, i think i'm like 19-2 atm.
Yeah, I'm familiar, I believe both CGB and LVD Did videos on this - so I just didn't want to showcase the same list - unless you guys would want me to (so I can butcher the combo😂). I've read some opinions and it seems situational, very cool deck but most voices say it probably won't be tier 1 in bo1 PS. BEAST Results man, gratz!!🔥🔥

No idea man, one day it's most of my matchups, one day it's none😂🤷♂️ I think it might be some MMR/time of playing "magic", but really not sure - my theory is that most mono red that care for laddering for a long time - are already mythic by this time of season, so maybe mid diamond is free of them - but it's pure guess on my part. Have some theories, but hard to really know :) Especially that on different day mono red is often back, magically🤷♂️Also remember video was played some time ago I think (if I recall video right), and meta can shift daily.
As a control player I always fear manlands, but I like those a lot - always make games a bit more complex and interesting :) And they have cool effects - have some amazing ideas with them!
Sunfall and Farewell are kinda anti-synergy in this deck, aren’t they? You want to dump their things to the graveyard so you can resurrect them later with Persistence. It always feelsbadman when you spend 7 mana to do nothing and there are no good creatures to res because you exiled them all lol.
I get what you mean, but I wouldn't say it. Bigger issue is surviving - that's top priority, especially vs creature decks (which usually have low value). Exile helps to solve irritating problems, like Kami/Squee and many more. 7 drop comes after those would normally kill you - so it's way more important to survive, stabilize, and then wincon is basically anything. One of big things is that persistence is a removal for early game, but also Beanstalk's target - so it draws you cards after you stabilize. Even if it does nothing as reanimator card, it's fine, you probably already won with extra cards/manlands. Also, from my experience, there's always some creatures in the graveyard - or you can make some 😈 You have black marches etc., so you still do normal destroy effects, and often all it takes is 1 creature/turn, when it dies by blocking you get it again. Honestly think exile helps the deck more than it hurts (also nice wincon with sunfall token) - I wouldn't go for depopulate - main strategy is control+removal tribal+card draw and manlands for wincon. Virtue is just nice 2 mana removal with huge upside :) Hope it clarifies a bit!❤🦥

I mean, I kinda can get this approach - but problem aren't sweepers. Problem is aggro-infestation, that means you cannot play the game without full set of sweepers, played on curve. I kinda get that there's not much skill involved into playing 5 lands and a sunfall - which is exactly my point - aggro decks not creating interesting environment. Honestly, golgari deck from my opp was great example of healthy meta - so many decisions, while still action packed. Cheers!:)
@@SlothMtg oh yeah thalia is garbage as are selesnia enchantments and red in general, unfortunately one drives the other and if you try to brew anything mid range you get outrun by red and laughed at by black or white players removing your stuff every turn. (Turn one cut down, turn two sheoldreds edict, turn 3 liliana .....) Wizzards is drunk and printing absurdly powerful red creatures for 1 or mana with haste...more often than not every single creature in the current red meta decks are with haste. My issue with those boardwipes is more with the exile part there is no real counter you can invest into, who though farewell is in any way fun or balanced i dont know, same goes for sunfall, why exile as a boardsweeper, we have good spot exiles.

Have you thought about adding Thalia? Will bump some strong 4 mana cards up to 5 for beanstalk synergy.

I think it's new hot card - I've seen some videos that mentioned that it's breaking modern or smth😂Force of will drawing cards for 0 mana etc.
Yes because Modern has all those elementals that cost 5 but you can pitch a card for @@SlothMtg

I kinda get that there's not much skill involved into playing 5 lands and a sunfall - which is exactly my point - aggro decks not creating interesting environment. Honestly, golgari deck from my opp was great example of healthy meta - so many decisions, while still action packed.

@@SlothMtg oh yeah thalia is garbage as are selesnia enchantments and red in general, unfortunately one drives the other and if you try to brew anything mid range you get outrun by red and laughed at by black or white players removing your stuff every turn. (Turn one cut down, turn two sheoldreds edict, turn 3 liliana .....)
Wizzards is drunk and printing absurdly powerful red creatures for 1 or mana with haste...more often than not every single creature in the current red meta decks are with haste. My issue with those boardwipes is more with the exile part there is no real counter you can invest into, who though farewell is in any way fun or balanced i dont know, same goes for sunfall, why exile as a boardsweeper, we have good spot exiles.
