Not sure what it is, but the sound of an over volted brushed 390 motor on 3S always puts a smile on my face 😆

that was a nice revisit of the 9116. still going pretty good hey. its good how these borderline toy grade RCs that run on 9.6v li-ion batteries can be pushed a little bit more with 3s lipo.

Hey Michael, this 9116 was my very first Xinlehong RC back in 2017 and its been thrashed and bashed many times over that time and still runs great. Also it was the first model i tried a 3s lipo mod not knowing if it would fry the ESC/RX board or not but thought to myself at the time jumping up only 1.5v in power it should handle it, and it did. 👍😁 thanks for watching bro

Good stuff. Restating the obvious is that this level of RC allows running in moderate sized areas. Easy to find a spot to bash. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah these older RC's are still great a dew years on and are a bargain cause they are even cheaper now! 👍

Thanks Dan, yeah it’s been a reliable RC this one and still runs sweet on all the original factory parts, I did buy spares of everything (motor / esc / gearbox diff) but they are still unused in the packaging 😆

Yes definitely a fun truck even today, been one of my most durable and reliable cheap RC’s, this was my 2nd truck I ever had after the A979b back then and first xinlehong branded truck, after that I got hooked on buying more from XLH brand and started modding them all! Thanks for watching David 👍👍

I have had the same car for quite some time. but it always breaks my rear gears, does anyone know how to fix this? or some good quality replacement gears

I am currently rebuilding my rc car I am putting brand new steering servio,new receiver,bigger/faster motor ,new gear box and new shocks.
I am planning to put a 540 motor in it and it does 20000RPM and I am wondering if it will handle it and running it on 3s.
What motor have you got in yours ?🤔

I haven't changed a thing on mine, it still has all original parts. A 540 motor will not fit sideways in this truck as its too big a can motor and that's how the gearbox and diff gears are arranged on the side not facing straight ahead. Best of luck with it though👍

This 9116 buggy is a 1/12 scale car and at motor i am putting in is a 1/10 scale motor so I should fit.

sorry to be a pest but if i use a 3s with a 45c discharge rating will it damage it?
been using a 25-35c and that works just fine dunno if it would damage it by increasing the c rating
These escs are not really rated for 3s so all I gotta say is use 3s at your own risk, There is always a possibility it can damage it. Thanks for watching
