My wife also went to Achimota secondary school. GHANA is such beautiful country, we're moving there November this year
That's a very sharp young man with vision Vanessa!!! He's 100% correct. You can help encourage him "and others" to move ahead. The government's motivation can frequently not involve logic nor "common sense!"
Appreciate Michael's patriotism towards Ghana 🇬🇭..I love Ghanaians bcos they are moderate and loving ❤ You will definitely succeed with this project..enjoy your life with learning experience. 💖
Trust princess Vanessa to find these young and talented people to interview and shine some light on that's why she's one of my favourite person in ghana.🥰😍❣🔥❤👍🏾🙏🏾
Michael is a true son of our beautiful Motherland AFRICA! A visionary leader and smart Entrepreneur positively impacting the solar energy sector in AFRICA and thanks for being honest about the reality of life in Nigeria! 😊😊✊🏾✊🏾
what do you mean been honest about nigeria? this guy left nigeria when he was10 ! just 10 , what stories can 10 years old tells about a country? and i dont know why you people always compare nigeria with over 220 million people and 356 669 mi2 in size with ghana with just 30 million people and 92 099 mi2 in size? is just a common sense.
It is clear to me that Ghana will be fully developed in our lifetime and the economic leader of West Africa. One thing I am noticing is that the comment sections on videos to do with Ghana are becoming more heated than before with folks arguing about this and that. There seems to be a lot of slow uptick\backlash about returnees coming back and the government and other issues.
Greetings Vanessa Kanbi, excellent interview with Dyson Energy and its great that he has a ton of experience in Nigerian,Ghana, and the UK in the field of law. The solar business is the new frontier and a great business venture especially with a law back ground. I wish Dyson Energy the very best in the future of solar in Ghana. Thanks for sharing Vanessa Kanbi and continue to enjoy yourself in Scotland.
I love his energy and passion for growth, good show the Ghanaian youth needs more shows like this to change the mind set of the youth, thank you for the video VANESSA
Great interview! All these people criticising this young man in the comments section need to stop. He is telling the truth. Some Ghanaians don’t like truth, always want to sugar coat things. No wonder why progress is so slow. I support everything this young man is doing and stands for! I wish him all the best in his business.
I'm from Nassau, Bahamas and stumbled across a program on CNN featuring this young entrepreneur in Ghana. DYSON Energy is on the leading edge of technology and is doing great things in Africa.
This is so amazing! Well done Michael this whole story gives me life! I keep having these stories. The partnership part with other parts of the world is I believe how we can build our true Wakanda. Let’s go Ghana, let’s go Africa! Now I know where to come for my panels when is start building my house. Solar all the way. Yes solar is the key to supercharge Ghana 💯
Wonderful stuff from a very inspiring and energetic guy.Good interview with positive vibrations and encouragement. Useful ideas on the energy issues facing the country.
Ghana has excess electricity capacity, our problem have been generation and transportation of the power. And now ECG is doing systems upgrade and power fluctuations will be the thing of the past. Interms of electricity coverage, Ghana have done 85 % of electricity coverage. We are second to SA. We aren't doing bad at all.
Thanks for pointing this out. Too often the good gets buried in the constant negative coverage, creating the wrong impression that NOTHING good exist. That's unfortunate and it must change!
In 2021 Gana should be doing a lot better. Sudden outages and power going off for hours at a time should be a thing of the past.Especially if what you say is true about them having excess energy to spare. Unfortunately generators are still very much relied on especially in Accra.
Great interview... Yes, it will take a combination of diasporans and locally based Africans to pull together to develop our beloved continent. Let's do it❤️.
@@AutochthonousNegro Because they are also Africans, who happen to live abroad for one reason or another. They usually have more money to invest or access to cheap borrowing, which they can use to invest and create jobs in Africa. They also have skills that can be used in Africa. I myself, am a Ghanaian who currently lives in the UK ( so a diasporan) but has a lot to offer and contribute to Ghana. I am already investing and creating jobs there, whilst planning my eventual move to Ghana.
Hi Vanessa, thanks for the excellent interview with the young solar man. He is the complete representation of all the black Africans in the diaspora. We are glad he is back home and contributing to the Ghanaian dream. Ghana welcomes him. Please arrange a 2nd interview with him in the future, he brings the channel alive
Awesome young Man, Michael is right, so many opportunities to be taken advantage of. I like the Achimota (MOTOWN) vibe...similar to my experience at the The on The Hill of Mfantsipim - The ONLY School in Ghana, LOOOOL
Very good interview. And don't worry Michael, I, just like yourself have been in the UK for the last 21 years. I found myself asking the same questions as you did before you moved. Ultimately, the question those of us in the diaspora must ask is where do we want our contribution to be? I work asset management and my research confirms what you discussed in this video with Vanessa. You can't power a 4th industrial revolution with a 2nd industrial revolution energy source. Energy will be renewable, mobility will be electric and autonomous and communication will be via IOT where everything and everyone is connected. Children of Africa, let's go back and build.
Another great interview Vanessa, this was definitely one of your best. All we need is to clone this guy 1 million times over put him in charge of building roads and infrastructure water and sewage and sanitation recycling and healthcare. Then there would be no stopping Gana it would be One of the best countries in the whole of Africa. The ambition drive and positivity alone makes Michael a force to be reckoned with. If he’s having issues with importing containerloads of solar panels because of the greedy corruption of the officials at the harbours. Maybe he needs to buy some land and build a solar panel factory. Which would create thousands of jobs.
This man has the vision and the energy to pull it off. We will hear a lot more about him in years to come as he catches up with Akan. He should also look at public private partnerships sourcing Chinese Panel manufactures and having them put in place the infrastructure, liaising with local government to supply the electricity and collect revenues going forward, with a little help from Private equity firms.
He is so funny! Such an amazing young man 😀I always say Nigeria is like living in New York. It is rough and you've got to be quick on your feet every second of every day. It's harsh. Also one of the reasons, though I'm Ghanaian and my husband is Nigerian, we've decided to relocate to Ghana.
dont know why you people always compire nigeria with over 220 million people and 356 669 mi2 in size with ghana with just 30 million people and 92 099 mi2 in size? is just a common sense.
Wow that's awesome Ambassador Kanbi Great job hosting the gentleman. I can't wait to get back hopefully soon. Would like to engage in talking points for the solar system.
African countries need substations to transfer power along the grid. Plus roads need to be updated and erosion prevention to lessen impact of land slides.
I actually hit the subscribe button after he said to, I did not realize I wasn't subscribed, my bad. I am an Angolan living in Germany. Sadly, I'm here helping to develop someone else country. If I could go back and create something, so many ideas.
Love the interview..very experience and exposed guy from the diaspora..that's what africa needs now..mass movement of people from the diaspora..his Nigeria experience is on point..must be street smart..Nigeria is great just hs had bad leadership back to back to back
There is a Ghanaian solar panel manufacturing company.Wode Maya had an interview with the company on his channel. Why doesn't he buy the solar panels from them instead of importing from the UK?
I think he is doing a good job offering solar services to augment ECG’ inadequate supply. However, to talk about ECG as a whole as not knowing what they are doing is not good because even in the developed west, solar energy is not providing greater percentage of the solar technology they have pioneered. The problem is the politicians. Also there is already a Ghanaian father and son solar panel production factory at Kpone off the N1 in greater Accra. Maybe he will be able to get his UK partners to manufacture their panels in Ghana soon. This will create more jobs for the country and may help lower the cost of the panels and lower prices to increase demand. Not many middle class or diasporans coming home to settle can afford to instal solar panels for electricity at $10,000.
Loved the interview Ms. Vanessa!🌹 I was hoping that when he started elaborating on the electric automobiles 🚘, that you were going to bring up the subject of vehicles running on natural gas ⛽. Seems like that would be an ideal research project to spearhead, or participate in the financial aspects of it. Please keep these videos 📹 coming! 🌷💐🙏☺
This id great, but shame the name & logo design is too similar to Dyson vacuum cleaner business. The black T Shirt is also Dysons colour scheme. Anyway, well done for launching this business and providing a product that people need.
@Lahony The name & logo design is no accident. He is clearly aligning himself with and piggybacking off of their reputation. It’s called shrewd & very clever marketing! (Provided The Dyson doesn’t file a suit!)
@@afrodigitalfreedom5135 Yeah I know that. I just feel it's a shame that he couldn't have been more original and their own design. Also, Dysons are not sold in Ghana so there is no reputation there. I hope for their sake that Dyson does not file a lawsuit. I'm assuming that Dyson has no plans to enter the Ghanian market with their fans if they suspect vacuums wont sell there.

The truth is that there is very little communication between national policy planning and implementation. But in a developing environment, a lot of over hauling needs to be done. There needs to be a major infrastructural overhaul. However, it leaves room for the private sector to operate. There could be a lot of startups in the solar sector to meet the gap of electricity in power supply.
To answer you Michael, nigerians are still the same...hustle go-getter at all times 😊. You mentioned the ghanaian government not being too keen with electric cars. You should thank your stars (no pun intended). In the nigerian house of senate, when electric cars where being discussed, a senator said "we're an oil-producing country, we should frustrate the electric vehicle industry so we can sell our oil and gas". The video is on youtube, it's frigging hilarious 😂.

This guy is a futurist. All what he is saying is factual but he will look arrogant before timid Ghanaians who think criticising leaders is a sin.
😂😂😂
That mentality stems from the culture which discourages criticism of authority or elders, even if you have legitimate reasons.
Amazing and welcome to Ghana. Keep up the good work.. I left the UK not long ago with no regrets.
