The first story is new to me and fabulous 🎉❤ Thank you Ian your voice is just marvellous for story telling as is your reading. HorrorBabble you’re amazing.
Excellent collection of tales. Fantastic stories! I'm listening to it now. Fifteen tales to keep us busy. The two lines below crack me up: 1:17:44 1:18:51 Thanks!
Read many of these years ago.. Really Good selection of Authors and stories.. Once again, You have outdone yourself! Thank You for the Continued Effort!
Ha, good supposition, mate ... However, I've heard it said that Warren is not yet dead ... Rumour is they've seen his face floating with his body forever in space.
@@HorrorBabble seems like every "CreepyPasta" has a 24/7 livestream.I could only imagine what you're voice would do to that many, many viewers. No one cares of time. "Time is a flat circle"
To be honest, I prefer to record short stories. I've recorded the odd novella and novel here and there though: th-cam.com/play/PLeNNKRLWxwoPpyIz12_Mfsc01c2PLqSvG.html
The first story caught my imagination. What if with our ever growing knowledge of the micro world ,down to the quantum realm, we find another universe inside a quark and find that us and our universe is just a connected series of Russian doll universes ,each inside another on to infinity. I remember reading a silly novel from the 50s where astronauts took a ship futher and further until they finally could look back and see that their universe was no more than a cosmic speck in a hair on the back of a dog like creature. We maybe just an experiment by another race that may tire of it at any moment!
Listening to the Crystal Egg, it makes me see it almost as a prototype leading into War of the Worlds. Which could be an excellent dramatic reading on your channel if and when you are willing to do so.
Hi Ian/Everyone, I'm trying to locate a story which was recorded on this channel, probably a few years ago at this point, and can't for the life of me remember what it was called or who it was by. As far as I can remember, the premise is that of a news/radio transmission transcriber who is transcribing the news of a town/village slowly being engulfed by some sort of malign fog/mist. It's definitely not 'Fog Country' by Allison V. Harding - that I do know. Unfortunately I also can't remember whether it featured as a standalone recording, or as part of a compilation. If anyone can clue me in, it'd be very much appreciated!
I won't be bothering with these since as with much of the stuff here, (there can't be much CAS left that you haven't done,) I've read and reread most of them already but it's good see to Iain's original work included in the compilation and it stands up well which is quite a high bar. Nice to see Vonnegut, (a bit of a hero of mine,) included as well.
That would be good and also perhaps an unexpected bonus since I thought that I'd read pretty much everything he, (CAS,) wrote already, (he's probably among my favorite authors of the classics of the genre for his use of language alone; after Lovecraft and familiarity doesn't necessarily breed contempt,) but I still pretty much enjoy almost all of your readings including your own stuff.
Sorry I have to lie to myself friend... I can't... I can't take reality you see ole boy.. I created a fall reality a lie a ruse to myself to say he's still around... You see ole boy? Forgive me for calling you a fool!
My two favorite genres. Of course I like having them mixed. Event Horizon, anyone? Edit: This Gordon guy has a good story in here. I wonder who this chap is? Wouldn’t mind hearing more of his work. 😉
First story: how was he able to watch the planet's development if it was moving with superspeed? He would not be able to keep it in his view for 1 second
@@HorrorBabble The story is called “Vastation”. It may be found in the collection titled “The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All”. Barron is the author of many New Mythos tales such as “The Men From Porlock”, “The Broadsword”, and “Mysterium Tremendum”. I highly recommend his work!
@@HorrorBabble You are absolutely correct. Also, congratulations are in order for “The Fear Experiment”. It’s one of the best tales in this great compilation, one of your best IMO. Barron may also be found in the compilations “Book of Cthulhu 1&2” and “Lovecraft’s Monsters” alongside and edited by Gaiman. Thank you so much for your efforts! You lot bring so much joy to so many of us seekers of forbidden knowledge!
Brother, I had to dig way too deep to find this. The amount of "7 totally TRUE horror STORIES that will make YOUR skin CRAP ITSELF" videos I had to scroll past is insane. This deserves so much more recognition.
In the first story Mr smarty wizard does not adequately explain where the gas comes from which is the start of the universe. The gas is exactly the universe and no less where did it come from, I ask ye?
I'm pretty sure he was of sound mind, after he realized they weren't cops, escaped, made it home and was almost killed by one of his sons, and everything else, i think what they were eluding to is the guy at the end was also an alien, the knowledge he had of the situation was too great, but I also fell asleep listening to it last night so take what I said with a grain of salt.
Thanks for this in bed after eye surgery. 3 days bed rest. I kept this until today. Thanks to everyone involved 👍
Blimey -- I hope you make a swift recovery.
This is an incredible collection of science fiction/horror stories. I appreciate all the great work that you do. Excellent narration. Thank you 💖🤗🌟
Thanks, Amy!
You spoil us, Ian. Thanks for everything you do! This recording saved my evening during a dreadful trip to the ER.
I absolutely love this channel. I work third shift and listen to these stories every night.

Sounds good. They can't hear you scream in space and the blood flows everywhere when it comes out of your body.
A most pleasant thought for a Friday afternoon!
And I have no mouth but I must scream, of course.
It boils first, though.
Excellent! Thanks for all the great hours of enjoyment

Best subgenre of sci-fi is horror. Best subgenre of horror is sci-fi.
Aptly put 💯
Agreed.
Awesome compilation!
What a phenomenal collection! They're all great but I'm especially struck by the genius of Kurt Vonnegut!
Outstanding Mr Gordon 😊
Outstanding as always many thanks Ian!🙂👍
long time, massive fan. May i suggest a 24/7 livestream of past work. I and many i'm sure would love it. Much thanks
Thanks for listening! An interesting idea, but I'm not sure how that would work -- wouldn't you start listening midway through a story?

Be on it H.B. at least a 2nd channel of a constant livestream. It will be worth while.
Yesss. Sci-fi horror! My favourite genre. Thanks Horrorbabble. 🤗

@HorrorBabble thank you. Short stories are my favorite. I find it nearly impossible to clear more than an hour a day for myself.
Beautiful and interesting stories

Loved every minute of it.
Thank you ❤
MORE SCI FI!!! Don't get me wrong, the weird fiction is top notch. But sci fi horror seems like the logical successor to weird fiction.
There'll be more down the line.

Marionettes, Inc by Ray Bradbury?? that would be awesome.
Would love to, but very few Bradbury works are in the public domain.
Awesome awesome reads and stories… and I am only on the first take 😂

A popular story by Laird Barron is a straight derivative of “The Fear Experiment”. It should be credited as an adaptation.

Can someone explain the Warren quote to me?
Many of the HorrorBabble productions on TH-cam start with a voice saying “You fool! Warren is dead.” Perhaps from an HP Lovecraft story.
And, away I go! Dance card is full.
Tip of the hat.
