I'm surprised Tanzanite wasn't mentioned as it is one of the rarest gems ever to be discovered. There is only about 30 years of supply left and it can only be found in one location. Tanzania - in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro
Nobby76 The Tanzanite being mined is getting lighter in color with each passing year. I bought a .33 ct deep purple/blue in the early 90's. So glad I did!!!
There is marketing for tanzanite ?? no i didn't listen to any marketing about tanzanit. Im not that nerdy that i need to keep up to date with gemstones. I just watched a tv show about a guy who traveled to tanzania to find the perfect chunk.. im going by what he was saying, from his own experiences
Funny thing is there have been bigger diamonds, but most were cut down over time to be reshaped because many rulers didn't like them when they came into power so had them altered. The Hope Diamond was one of such stones that use to be much bigger.
MivTheMan South Africa should expand its influence and take over neighbouring African countries. It's time they push out Western colonization and make their own superpower. Only then will they get rich off their own land and end the bloodshed. Too bad people have to die in order for there to be peace. But it'll be worth it in the long run.
6:51 -- "... the price wouldn't be inexpensive." Nor would it be expensive. The gems might be expensive, and the price might be high, but the price would not, could not be expensive. Because no one buys prices. Really, who is your scriptwriter?
My family stopped feeding the goons in the Redsheild club over 20 years ago. We don't go diamonds at all. Just a few Tanzanites here and there. We save and invest the fluff money.
Well I can see a reason for buying a stone like that. As opposed to small diamonds, these will not lose value. And, I think the reasoning behing such a purchase is that if things go bad, and one needs to flee rapidly, leaving all behind, well, a stone like that fits in your hand and will enable you to start your life in another country with a very comfortable nest egg.
6:37 -- "Nine different stones were cut from the original, and they each vary in size." So each one varies in size? The smallest one varies in size, and the largest one varies in size, etc.? Why is that? If the weather gets humid, they absorb moisture from the air and swell up? Or maybe when temperatures drop, they contract as they get colder? Really, how does it happen?
Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots... the Infinity Stones.
"The person that owns the diamond right now is ..." dead. Bhumibol Adulyadej, the person in the picture, WAS the king of Thailand until he died on October 13, 2016--one month before this video was posted. So ... Oops. I don't think we can say that he "owns" the diamond any more.
Who is the writer-they are very careless with facts. DeBeers does not manufacture diamonds, they mine them. In the segment on the pink diamond they got it right with mined in 1999, but then calling DeBeers a manufacturer?!?
I was named after the hope diamond. my dad always said he'd get my mom a diamond for their 10th year together and that's when they found out I was coming. so they named me hope.
what the hell is "soth bees"? You mean Sotheby's? Crisahbarrell? Chrysoberyl ? For the love of everything please learn to pronounce words properly. If you are going to do voice work please do research. Cullinan LONG A. Umm it was LouisXVI the 16th not Louis XIV who lost his head. This video hurts my ears.
My mom has a perfume bottle that never has had any fragrance or content in it. It changes color from lavender to magenta to teal, depending on the light. Does anyone know what this can be made of? My grandmother obtained this. In the 1940's. It appears far too large to possibly be an Alexanderite.
that sounds like turmaline and very valuable. It should look Asian like a chinese bottle. Good luck. Buttons used to be made for the Empress of China. Go to your local Mineral and gem society and ask a geologist. Don't let anyone take advantage of you.
Chrysoberyl=Chris oh burl. Ural=Yoo-rahl. Myanmar=m'yan marh. And do you mean pray-nite? (prehnite) My 'sister' has alexandrite my brother got cheap in Vietnam or somewhere, and I found an alexandrite ring on Craigslist for $35, but, me being me, I wrote her and said that if it was real, it was worth more than $35, by FAR!
It's painite, although in their close-up they focus on the piggybacking rubies on the specimen's surface. Also, there is a great deal of artificial alexandrite around.
Anne-droid WAY too much. But my 'sister' (she's an evil demon in a human skin suit) received hers before they made quality fake alexandrite, and the other gal supposedly knew it was real, but, sell it for $35?
Anne-droid Yeah, NEVER buy shit from China on e-bay, almost always fake. I bought an opal ring (you CAN get good deals on gems from other countries, they're either more common in those countries, or they don't put the worth on them the US does), and it was a triplet (did not say this in the ad, of course). A very cheap triplet...which I found out when I got the ring too close to a candle, and it CAUGHT FIRE! Plastic, not even decent resin, for a top cab.
interesting to knew most valuable gemstones in the world comes from my country south Africa though south Africans are poor and suffering with so much wealth underneath their feed....even our kings don't own those gemstones
Thank you. I was scrolling down the comments to see if anyone had already corrected this glaring error and voila. I guess this guy really is a bit of a dip shit.
Interesting, but can y'all get a better narrator? The guy sounds too hurried and young. Plus, the audio track has edited out all the spaces between sentences, so it's difficult to listen to.
Louis the fourteenth was not decapitated, and he wasn't married to Marie Antoinette. You're mixing up with Louis the sixteenth. Get your facts straight.
Africa needs back those diamonds!
It is very.amazing information about gems, diamond sand mineral s.Hatsoff to you tubes .Thanks...
That Alexandrite stone is beautiful!
SweetStep Studio
SweetStep Studio I prefer the hope diamond
great video. very informative
I'm surprised Tanzanite wasn't mentioned as it is one of the rarest gems ever to be discovered. There is only about 30 years of supply left and it can only be found in one location. Tanzania - in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro
Larimar is also extremely rare as it's supply is running out as well though it doesn't come in gem quality however
Nobby76 The Tanzanite being mined is getting lighter in color with each passing year. I bought a .33 ct deep purple/blue in the early 90's. So glad I did!!!
only known place so far.
Painite is THE rarest gem as of now. Only two very small crystals were found of it.

3:03 What a stellar unbelievably beautiful rock and jewelry piece.

Donald K. Kearse africa its not a country its a continente composed of many countries
cringeeeeeeee
MivTheMan South Africa should expand its influence and take over neighbouring African countries. It's time they push out Western colonization and make their own superpower. Only then will they get rich off their own land and end the bloodshed.
Too bad people have to die in order for there to be peace. But it'll be worth it in the long run.
pedro massa
You mean there's no middle east
pedro massa burned that might be why Africa is not free.
6:51 -- "... the price wouldn't be inexpensive."

beautiful gemstone ,congratulation
diamonds arn't all that rare there is just a monopoly on them.
that looks great!
can you please make more videos about this?? like the ground and gems and mines
The narrator needs to learn how to pronounce some terminology properly.
The Jadeite Boulder is impressive!
I am going to Africa this Instant!!
Where are my tools??

De beers has a chokehold on the diamond trade has no plans of letting go whatsoever
Before creation
itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into
existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into
concentrated ingots... the Infinity Stones.
Please find a narrator who understands how to pronounce words correctly.
lol
Mythical Munch
aroundbh rubbish.
Or who doesn't sound so congested as if he's talking through his nostrils.
Nice!
i admire those who sculpted them
Why is there a fire agate at 3:16?
A D rating from GIA does not mean it's flawless inside and out, it speaks only to the color of the gemstone.
"The person that owns the diamond right now is ..." dead.
Bhumibol Adulyadej, the person in the picture, WAS the king of Thailand until he died on October 13, 2016--one month before this video was posted.

4:28 Did he just said that the 117 milion jade stone was found in Kachin? 😝... That's at 1,5 km from Bling Bling 😀
I thought in the beginning of the video was Keemstar Diamond XD
Xd
Same, I heard that too! lol
I held a copy of the Cullinan in my hand when I visited the mine, pretty crazy
how the fuck did you leave out the Bahia Emerald!? It is estimated to be worth over 400 million dollars
Why would any one pay so much for some fancy rocks
The blue heart one its so pretty I love the colour
Beautiful
Who is the writer-they are very careless with facts. DeBeers does not manufacture diamonds, they mine them. In the segment on the pink diamond they got it right with mined in 1999, but then calling DeBeers a manufacturer?!?
Gene Miller they manufacture cut diamonds. after they mine them of course.
Point taken.
no, they "refine" the rough diamonds to cut diamonds, as stated by the idiot writer.
Detail... not the main point in this type of video. But yes you know things.
I was named after the hope diamond. my dad always said he'd get my mom a diamond for their 10th year together and that's when they found out I was coming. so they named me hope.
nice

JadeYueRyu1

Al Capone wore an 11 carat Randfontein diamond pinkie ring. Does anyone know what became of it?
See. How Many Things GOD Gave To Us

I have never heard of these "famous" diamonds.
I have seen the Hope Diamond IRL
I looks so kewl
WE...
ARE THE CRYSTAL GEMS
WE'LL ALWAYS SAVE THE DAY
AND IF U THINK WE CANT
WE'LL ALWAYS FIND A WAY
I'm only here because of Steven Universe.
Dose number 10 looks like a mini golden play button
awesome
Big boulders don’t contain good jade... in my humble opinion
Grade D is the highest for jewelry cut diamonds. Grades A, B and C are reserved for investment cut diamonds.
you missed kohinoor diamond
kohinoor is the cullinen 2 diamond ,the centre peice of the british monarchs crown
It was King Louis XVI, not King Louis XIV. Big difference between the two.
i love alexandrite!!!
I did not know Thailand has a king. good to know
Chrysoberyl=Chris oh burl. Ural=Yoo-rahl. Myanmar=m'yan marh. And do you mean pray-nite? A large (8mm) lab-created alexandrite goes for about $10 from reputable dealers. Buy it from China on eBay and it's almost free...and will look it.
Anne-droid
Yeah, NEVER buy shit from China on e-bay, almost always fake. Well, everyone likes fiery opals.
The number 2 diamond is called the cullinan diamond because it was found in cullinan South Africa and is the largest diamond ever to be found
was the pink diamond shattered?
I've seen the Hope diamond when I was a kid
@TA DuFine same here . I thought it was kinda small was expecting the size of a basket ball . But then again I was a kid . Patriot Perry .
i would rather have a pizza
i'm hier!!!!!!
The last picture on the one of alexandrite was fire agate....
good
If that stone was made into jewelry, Jadeite just got a LOT cheaper. At 20,000 a karat that boulder would be worth more like 50 billion.
17 owners of the hope diamond...
17 diamonds around the hope Diamond...
The west has strangled africas development for centuries.... sigh
they should know better by now
Hooked on Phonics....try it bro.
Too much about diamonds. Missed opportunity to feature other cool gems. actual rare ones even
Tavernier stole sackfuls of precious gems from India, and that began the gem ownership in Europe.
I like this
why are rocks so expensive?!
Gaby M cause they're in demand
It takes years for gems to form, and it takes a lot of time and effort to get them. You have to travel, find them, polish them ect.
You forgot the Bahia Emerald
diamond aren't rare
yes
yes they are
i live in nevada, i cant find ANY
Damien Micheal Gabb kool
That because they don't form there
strider04
i have been OUT OUT in the desert, i have dug in the desert
THERE ARE DIAMONDS IN NEVADA
there just hard as fuck to find
strider04
and they are rare to find
The way this guy talks you'd think Titanic was just a movie.....
Diamonds r just common stone. The only reason why it is expensive is because they only release few per year so the value wont go down
What about the Black Prince's Ruby?
interesting to knew most valuable gemstones in the world comes from my country south Africa though south Africans are poor and suffering with so much wealth underneath their feed....even our kings don't own those gemstones
King Louis XVI was decapitated not King Louis XIV..
Thank you. I was scrolling down the comments to see if anyone had already corrected this glaring error and voila. I guess this guy really is a bit of a dip shit.
Why the hammer and sickle icon logo?
i'm hier!!!!!!!!
alexsandrite is a fusion in steven universe XD
Soth Bees? Ha! you lose
#6 - THE HEART OF THE OCEAN!!!! TITANIC
Interesting, but can y'all get a better narrator? The guy sounds too hurried and young. Plus, the audio track has edited out all the spaces between sentences, so it's difficult to listen to.
ALL OF THESE ARE DIAMONDS! (Except for Alexandrite painite) That sucks
Oh shoot I found five of these diamonds 💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💰💰💎💵💰💰
Hello from Turkey . Who likes to buy painite?
Where would Kohi Noor be in this list?
If its cursed, then its not worth anything. You need a Paladin or Cleric to 'Lay on hands' or 'Remove Curse' 1st
sounds legit. roll for effect
There's is a planet made of diamond :3
Chrysoberyl pronounced chis o barrel, ah gee...
king louise the "16th" and marie antoinette
We all know reason why they change name color brown diamond
but now it just looks like any other diamond. :/
Louis the fourteenth was not decapitated, and he wasn't married to Marie Antoinette. You're mixing up with Louis the sixteenth. Get your facts straight.
where is Kohinoor diamond in the list ?
This dude doesn't make sense. He said that one takes the world record for most rare gemstone and then the other one is the most rare gemstone like wtf
WHAT IF THE SPACE COMPANIES SOON WILL PLAN TO MINE SOME BOLDER DIAMONDS IN URANUS OR NEPTUNE,WHAT MAY BE THE COST?
CRY-SO-BEH-RILL.... please
