How to Reduce PayPal Fees by Using QR Code Payments!

  • I see people trying to figure out how to avoid PayPal fees every day. Usually it involves trying to bend and break the PayPal user agreement rules by sending payments with Friends and Family. This causes lots of problems, including opening the door for scammers to work their games.
While the standard PayPal fee rate is 2.9% + 30¢, using QR codes will get you a cheaper rate at 1.9% + 10¢ per transaction. This can really add up over the course of a year.
This is a great thing PayPal is doing to promote touchless, healthy payments and to help small business get back on their feet.

@@mohsen4x516 Making purchase using F&F is against PayPal's policy, and it opens buyers up to fraud because they cannot dispute the transaction. Those payments are considered a cash gift. You shouldn't request people to send you money that way when you're selling, and you should never send money that way when you're buying something.

I think it's a US only thing. I haven't tested it that far, sorry. You can always give it a shot. What it might do is still charge the currency fee but not the actual processing fee. Just have to give it a shot and see. The worse that can happen is it charges the normal fee that you would be paying anyway.

    Hi there,
Hope you can maybe help, I can't find this info anywhere. I'm in Australia and looking at making an online purchase from a U.S store that charges USD.
If I convert my AUD in my PayPal account, then make the purchase using my PayPal balance (in converted USD) what are the total fees? And what gets charged when?
For example, if I have $100 AUD in my PayPal balance and convert it to Usd and get $71 Usd. What will the fees be?
And after it's converted and fees are charged, when I make the actual purchase paying with converted USD in my PayPal balance, will there be any further fees?
Right now, when I go to make the purchase on the website and click PayPal, the mark up is 6.2% because it's using my Aussie credit card linked to my PayPal, so trying to figure out if I convert AUD to USD and use my PayPal balance, if it will make it cheaper. It's like a 1k purchase, so pretty significant difference.
    Hope all that made sense.
    Thanks in advance,

I showed you in the video how there is no fee when you take a payment using the QR code. I've been using it myself and so have many others. PayPal doesn't even have a "trial time".
