      Yes, readers some do! Be careful though because some are very particular on the year, make, and model.

      I hope it's helpful! I struggled to find a way to read this until I realized you could do it with certain scan tools. I hate getting ripped off by auto shops. Even with the cost of the tool, I'm sure I saved at least $100.

    I need one of those testers! My auto parts store said their machine couldn’t read the code. Does this work for all makes and models? I’ve got a 2008 Civic and my light came on the other day.

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's why I ended up buying this reader. It was pretty easy to use and was just under $100! Check their website in the description for your exact make and model. That's what I did before I bought mine and it worked flawlessly! Good luck!

    Why don't normal scan tools allow you to read and erase the code? What's special about this one?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The manufactures don’t include it on many of the scan tools. Not sure why bc they all should have this option! I know ABS codes are less common than a check engine code. Maybe that’s why. When buying a scan tool make sure it has the options you want and possibly would need in the future! Not sure if anything is special about it but it just has more ability to read other codes like ABS codes which is the main reason I bought this one!

      @@MCFIXIT just found out today after buying 2 different scanners with ABS scanning. I’m crossing my fingers in hopes it works, should come in a few days. I’ve got both ABS and airbag lights on.

    My ABS turns on and off all the time. Could it be a lose connection?

    • @MCFIXIT

      That could be it. I'd check that before buying and replacing the cables.
