74 year old here .I don't think there is any job ,whether it's fencing ,landscaping, yard work concreting, office work, that you don't do a fantastic job off,always makes my day watching the hard graft you do.

That’s why your customers treat you so well, because you treat them just as well!! My dad had his own water drilling and well company, we had customers calling for him long after he passed away. Because if he could help them save a bit of money, he would.
The garden transformation turned out even better than you could have expected. Brilliant attention to detail that elevates the end result. Lovely customers to look after you all but I'm certain you agree that you mostly get the customers you deserve - treat them right with respect and going that extra miles and you will get rewarded. Any way you slice it yourselves and your staff constantly promote a quality product . Its great to see you having faith in your staff and giving them recognition. I also wish we could have some customers like you. Those sausage baps and that bottle of HP were winking at me I swear. Interesting to how you highlighted the issues with traffic factoring into your work We did some groundworks for a local authority about ten years ago. Recently we were asked to extend and upgrade the job we did to increase access and security. Even though we have the right equipment and proper trained staff the job took us twice as long to travel too and purely from the increase in traffic and something I think customers are needing to become aware of going forward. As always great to spend an hour with D and J and thanks for sharing.
The drive grids definitely do a good job ticks the SUDS boc .ive never seen a grab wagon load a wheel barrow before i thought that was brilliant 🤣🤣 .lovely work guys and nice to see a boss appreciate his staff . Top stuff. Justin brickright 👍 ♥️
Another great week a D&J. I usually put 2 or 3 course of block pavers around the edge when I do that kind of drive to stop the gravel over spill onto the grass or pavement! Stevie also asked how other people lay turf. I always put a full roll along the edge of the slabs and borders then work off that. I know you like people to comment on how they do things! Love you guys, keep up the good work.

Roadstone, my Uncle worked for this company back in early 1960s. He was helping my Dad clear site for garage and wanted to use explosives to clear a boulder. Dad thought the neighbours wouldn't be too keen, so my Uncle moved the boulder with his machinery...

Really satisfying (& long) video this week. Love the grid and stone car pathway, really nice bit of kit, reckon it’ll last a long time. The turfing has set that garden off beautifully, might be my favourite job I’ve seen you finish. Great completion on the landscaping project, looking really good, nice slabbed area,and the turf sets it off and compliments it smart job.we just use an old roller for our topsoil compaction,but stevie with the wacker plate that was certainly something else.cracking job also with the grid system looks fabulous. That backyard turned out amazing, it really did need some TLC and you guys delivered. You do realise that the customers were feeding you up so you'd be too fat to go on holiday and would have to do more fencing videos. Sad to hear Josh is having a hard time but great to hear about all the support for him both in the comments and by D&J.
The BACK YARD TRANSFORMATION= that you and Ant did -just BEAUTIFUL!!!. BUT all yourD&J Projects are beautiful. If I may, I have 2 questions: #1> I know gave the customer what they want, but, why wouldn't they put a pathway to the green house? If they continually walk on it, aren't they going to end up wearing a pathway into the grass? #2> Will the pavement you put in be slippery when it's wet? GRID-PARKWAY WITH GOLDEN ROCKS: How is upkeep on that? Don't those stones end up coming out? Do you have to refill them periodically? How does something like that hold up to snow? I like that and have looked at that. I'm in Chicago and I read it's good for drainage but I couldn't get a sense of it being appropriate/durable for winters. Does your climate get much snow and freezing? Finally, how do you keep that from accumulating dirt and grass or weeds growing within those rocks? Again, I guess, I'm just asking what is the expected upkeep in order to best maintain it as it is todayl. Thanks - and love your videos. BTW - Team Swan all the way -across the pond - in Chicago !!!😊

Nice video. Turfing tips, after you’ve wacker plated the soil, run a rake lightly over the top as the roots will then bind into the ground better and quicker than if it’s just laid on a solid flat surface. Also should be drenching the soil with water before laying the turf 👍

I think 🍯🤔 honey is *golden brown* When I see the grab collect waste like that from someone's driveway I can remember "hand balling " that into barrows and then lifted onto back on lorry or thrown straight on with a shovel with sides down on one side ....my sciatica appreciates the grab!! The landscaping job looks mega and the turf just sets it off nicely and a tremendous transformation!! 😲 ...looks proper "homes and garden " style 👍🏻. One of the nicest I've seen on the channel and everyone's been involved. I used a similar grid system for my 12x10 shed to act as a base . I filled my grids with Recycled road chippings . Driveway job looks amazing and not forgetting the landscaping job that looks Wicked .

They use them grids at the Safari Park, used in the grassy area's they're just laid on subsoil and the grids are filled with topsoil and then grass seeded, you can't see the grids only grass, but cars don't sink even when it's wet. They need a hell of a lot of parking space there....It's a good idea I think.
Hi everyone at D&J, really enjoy watching the quality work you do, sorry but had to have a smile when you were explaining about it being a hassle, back and forward on your own with the forklift, I don’t blame you at all for using machines to make the job easier, I’m sure you enjoy hard work but at least you didn’t have to use shovels and wheelbarrows, reminds me of back in my labouring years, digging out the whole floor, of a whole detached house for underpinning, 6 inch Screed, 9 inch Concrete, then a metre or so of beach pebbles, I didn’t know that beach pebbles were used like that till then, The job was in Hastings, try to dig into pebbles the shovel digs in an inch, leaves you with a battered thigh trying to push but it doesn’t dig deeper, Nightmare, then of course it had to be barrowed down a driveway and in a skip, sorry for the story, Just makes me think how much easier building work is now to when I had to do the hard graft. Anyway all the best to everyone

As a landscaper myself I would be proud of this job ,only grioe always use 8x2 boards when TURFING helps to take any air out between soil and turf

Great completion on the landscaping project, looking really good, nice slabbed area,and the turf sets it off and compliments it smart job.we just use an old roller for our topsoil compaction,but stevie with the wacker plate that was certainly something else.cracking job also with the grid system looks fabulous. That backyard turned out amazing, it really did need some TLC and you guys delivered. You do realise that the customers were feeding you up so you'd be too fat to go on holiday and would have to do more fencing videos.

The BACK YARD TRANSFORMATION= that you and Ant did -just BEAUTIFUL!!!. BUT all yourD&J Projects are beautiful. If I may, I have 2 questions: #1> I know gave the customer what they want, but, why wouldn't they put a pathway to the green house? If they continually walk on it, aren't they going to end up wearing a pathway into the grass? #2> Will the pavement you put in be slippery when it's wet? GRID-PARKWAY WITH GOLDEN ROCKS: How is upkeep on that? Don't those stones end up coming out? Do you have to refill them periodically? How does something like that hold up to snow? I like that and have looked at that. I'm in Chicago and I read it's good for drainage but I couldn't get a sense of it being appropriate/durable for winters. Does your climate get much snow and freezing? Finally, how do you keep that from accumulating dirt and grass or weeds growing within those rocks? Again, I guess, I'm just asking what is the expected upkeep in order to best maintain it as it is todayl. Thanks - and love your videos. BTW - Team Swan all the way -across the pond - in Chicago !!!😊
Loved that landscaping job, really transformed the garden into a paradise area to sit and enjoy. Brilliant idea on the car park space as well, never seen that done before, but turned out really, really well.

Nice video. Turfing tips, after you’ve wacker plated the soil, run a rake lightly over the top as the roots will then bind into the ground better and quicker than if it’s just laid on a solid flat surface. Also should be drenching the soil with water before laying the turf 👍

When I see the grab collect waste like that from someone's driveway I can remember "hand balling " that into barrows and then lifted onto back on lorry or thrown straight on with a shovel with sides down on one side ....my sciatica appreciates the grab!!
The landscaping job looks mega and the turf just sets it off nicely and a tremendous transformation!! 😲 ...looks proper "homes and garden " style 👍🏻. One of the nicest I've seen on the channel and everyone's been involved.
How you can eat those delicious looking sausage baps then lean and bend over to lay that turf by the way ....I need another type of bucket for the forklift 🤣🤣🤣

I used a similar grid system for my 12x10 shed to act as a base . I filled my grids with Recycled road chippings . Driveway job looks amazing and not forgetting the landscaping job that looks Wicked .

They use them grids at the Safari Park, used in the grassy area's they're just laid on subsoil and the grids are filled with topsoil and then grass seeded, you can't see the grids only grass, but cars don't sink even when it's wet. They need a hell of a lot of parking space there....It's a good idea I think.
Hi everyone at D&J, really enjoy watching the quality work you do, sorry but had to have a smile when you were explaining about it being a hassle, back and forward on your own with the forklift, I don’t blame you at all for using machines to make the job easier, I’m sure you enjoy hard work but at least you didn’t have to use shovels and wheelbarrows, reminds me of back in my labouring years, digging out the whole floor, of a whole detached house for underpinning, 6 inch Screed, 9 inch Concrete, then a metre or so of beach pebbles, I didn’t know that beach pebbles were used like that till then, The job was in Hastings, try to dig into pebbles the shovel digs in an inch, leaves you with a battered thigh trying to push but it doesn’t dig deeper, Nightmare, then of course it had to be barrowed down a driveway and in a skip, sorry for the story, Just makes me think how much easier building work is now to when I had to do the hard graft. Anyway all the best to everyone
