I've watched many many PS tutorials over many many months and none of them can touch PHLEARN for their simplicity in understanding. For the likes of myself, a mere hobbyist, it makes the learning so much more enjoyable.
Wowww!! Many thanks that easy and fast you can manage to fix the hair in a photograph with your way of editing. Thank you again! Greetings from Panama!! 🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦
By far one of the best videos I've seen on retouching hair in Photoshop (and I've seen many). Definitely need a pen and tablet to do this though. A mouse is totally unreliable when trying to draw hairs with the brush tool. And rotating the canvas only works if you have an OpenGL-capable graphics processor.
I seriously wish I had you as a teacher in all subjects growing up! LOL - You make it so easy to follow along and keep me interested. It would be cool if you could do a workshop on studio photography and post processing in Toronto! Could you do a tutorial on fixing slanted ceilings in the background that has a different shade to them. I had have a photo where its a straight wall to a point, but then the ceiling slants and because of lighting it turned out a different shade, the subject is great, but the background is a little distracting. I would gladly send you the image to use for one of your episodes.
I have a non profit organization and we rescue stray dogs and we find them a home, I'd love a tutorial teaching how to retouch a dogs pictures to make them look more cute and adorable so we can find them a family easier. P.S. love you Aaron
Amazing tutorial! This is one of the best tutorials I've seen for hair touch up. Kept me intrigued, you showed the hot keys, clear and precise. Do you have a tutorial or settings guide for a walcom. I purchased one recently and super intimidated it feels awkward to me. Hopefully you have one
Hey Phlearn, thanks for the Tutorials, they are awesome. I like that you have a conclusion at the end. Could you (in future Videos) post a link in the description, to where it begins? For example: 00:21:45 THX
Hi, Can you pls do a video on recreating lost hairs I'm in the process of making IMG transparent? Actually I'm having difficult time removing background of a lady with golden hairs...I hv tried different ways to make it transparent but always loosing her hairs. Pls help 😊
This is fine if you're only retouching the one image from that set but it gets tedious quickly so it's far preferable to get the wig under better control on the shoot. Maybe you could do a tutorial giving tips from a great MUA and hair stylist on techniques for photo shoots, 'how to get the best out of budget products'. I've certainly tried hairspray, and water to tame these cheap wigs before and always have to go in and trim them.
Will you do avtutorial on removing hairvwtrands on the forehead and cleaning up the hairline after? The hairs are usually smaller, broken hairs that don't flow with the rest of the hair but instead stick down the forehead. Super annoying and I'm taking way too long removing them. Thanks!
What are the books shown behind Aaron in this video? I recognize Dan Winter's book, Annie Leibovitz at Work, Richard Avedon's Fashion photos, Extreme Beauty (with cover by Irving Penn). But I do not recognized the rest.
I have always problems with stamp tool. This tool is just completly fucked up, when it samples area near borders of image and it also is pretty worhtless, when background is gradient. Thats why i hate postprocessing hairs and i usually dont do that shit at all. I prefer this small hairs, than fucked up gradient in background.

Fantastic as usual.
Instead of the pen tool , wouldn't the lasso tool achieve the same thing and be more precise ? Just wondering.
I would just give you Sir a Nobel prize. Or like three of them.

Coz its quite tough changing background in low quality images
Absolutely superb
Thanks from Belgium...
I think there are faster ways to do some of the same things, but they are no where as well done or decent looking. These techniques have quality!
Definitely! there are many techniques you can follow to edit hair.☺ We're glad you enjoyed this tutorial!

Thanks so much I didn't know you could rotate the canvas and I've been using Photoshop for over ten years. LOL!
Great Job! You are great.
How you put the black color to see what you are selecting with the spot healing brush tool?
Great tutorial!

Man, THanks a lot for this tutorial, it helped me a lot...A LOT
Was this photo edited in anyway prior to doing the hair? Or is that raw from the camera?
Aron has short hairs ! Looks good. :)
How do you get it to select the single hairs with the brush that size? Mine replaces the whole brush are and not the single hair!
How did you get that Lazy Town girl model?
