I was a little late listening to this one, but I haven enjoyed it immensely so far. Some elements remind me of some of Portal's work. Definitely on my Album's of the year list.
Great review, got me excited to do my annual exploration through the I, Voidhanger catalog (I realize that Defacement has moved to AvantGarde for this release). So much good stuff in there. Blayne, would you consider doing a deep dive into labels like this and draw attention to some gems.

It's like if Rivers of Nihil made music that I actually like... sounds nice. At this point I pretty much only listen to underground death metal and dark ambient, so if I can get both things in one album 👍
Those ambient tracks are annoying as shit, man. I had to create a Spotify playlist containing only the actual songs from the album so I don't have to skip them after every song.

I think blast beats are like great seasoning. You gotta have the perfect balance of blast beats and other kind of rhythm/grooves. If you get too much of them, it turns repetitive, which is boring.
Ive been a huge fan of Defacement since their first album, Deviant. Khalil is a beast on guitar.

Defacement is a great band, I discovered them last year and I love them since then!
Agreed on the interludes. The actual songs are great and I was surprised when I found this record and it pulled me right in.
i take underground music any day, could remain like that through the year, much more interesting than the majority of releases we normally get
