I love these segments. Not a"Your generation is ruining America" bullshit, but rather two different generations sharing their experience and having fun with some lighthearted rib jabbing.
Agreed, it's such a fun segment. I love that they flip it at the end too :)
to be fair though... The housing market, tge education cost, the health care cost and the climate crisis arent the millenials doing.
There was no "rib jabbing". That would be assault at the minimum and not something you would want viewer witnesses for.

I have a vivid memory from kindergarten of the principal making an announcement over the loudspeaker that "Wheelys" were to be banned at school, and a bunch of kids yelled "Heelys!" at the speaker. That could also have been a dream but I like to think it was real

@@katla_phc Gen Z is not Zennial. She's a Zoomer. Xennial is Gen X, the generation before Millennial, and Millennial. Xennial is basically saying you're an older Millennial, which is what I am at age 34; young enough to have had the internet for most my life while being just old enough to remember what life was like before home computers were mainstream.

Seems like such an easy to do segment, yet it's delightful every single time.
It's beauty is the simplicity.
After listening to Conan O'Brien talk about his experiences as a writer in many of his podcasts over the pass few months. It occurs to me that people like Karen aren't just cute personalities that they put on a segment. She's a writer that means she's smart, talented, hard working and probably works really fast under preasure because of deadlines on a show that airs daily. At 24 you look at her and go, "that girl has hustle", good for her.

I think she just makes the cutoff, which is around '96. But surely there are writers that are more in the middle of the millennial range on the show.
I really wouldn't call her a millennial.
@@robertdullnig3625 I'd always heard the cutoff as 2000, but then like most generations, the line is kind of floating. It can go as early as 80 or late as 84, and same with 96-00. I think the only one that has a firm start is Boomers, because that's so closely connect to WW2.

It's actually the toy that inspired the Chuckie movies, not surprisingly. I had one when I was six or seven, and threw it away after seeing the movie.

The hilarious thing is I was just talking to my friend on Wednesday about My Buddy and Kid Sister. Right before talking about Easy Bake oven and Creepy Crawlies. Then Talking about the Nintendo cereal and the TMNT cereal. Yeah, basically forgotten stuff.
Yeah, I"m in my late 50's and I think I'm a bit too old for My Buddy. The only reason I knew it was because a few years ago the Minnesota Twins signed Buddy Boshers as a relief pitcher and someone on a Twins chat site posted an old ad for My Buddy. Could not get that damn jingle out of my head for about 2 weeks.

This is the only segment on tv comparing generations that doesn't constantly belittle Millennials/Gen Z tbh I especially love that he phrases it as having "a different frame of reference" and not "doesn't know stuff" like so many (late night) talk show hosts

Karen who is a '95 had a very different upbringing than I did based on her references lol though it probably is because I'm Canadian so there's always going to be a bit of a difference there!
Vic Wunder I don't think you know what your talking about and just going off by one person is pretty vague. My 3 cousins are born in sep 1992, 95 and 1998 and they all have a lot in common and not that much differences.

My favorite thing about these, honestly, is that I'm halfway between your ages and know 75% of everything you show, but usually was either too young for it or too old for it when it actually came out. (Or, like, too young to follow the news of it, too old to have time for it even if I would've enjoyed it... whatevs.)
When you're 34 like me, you know pretty much all of these things. Being between generations leaves you knowing about the things on the news, or pop culture that you are too old to know, but shamefully do anyway.
