I am having exactly the same problem. I'm on my fourth H540 headset and they fail by first starting to flicker at the mute LED and then they start to randomly drop off from Windows. Then the system doesn't recognize it unless you reboot the computer. Logitech is very much aware of the problem that is well documented on Amazon.com going back to 2013 but any online searches that have a link to Logitech's forums leads you to a dead redirect page on their site. LOGITECH IS DELETING ALL REFERENCE TO THE ISSUE. Logitech's customer service pretends it doesn't exist and wastes your time going through useless trouble shooting steps even when you quote the previous case reference number(s). Their tech support in the Philippines is staffed by people with a limited grasp of the English language and no tech skills whatsoever. They argue with you, talking in circles as if they got paid for each word spoken or minute spent talking about tech support. The fact is they do not understand what they are doing so they don't serve a purpose. Logitech sends you an email with the following below but each time a week goes by and NOTHING ever happens and you have to chase after them to get results. Every time you ask to speak to a supervisor, there's never one available for a slew of reasons. Most times when they put you on hold, the line gets disconnected. Each of the past three return/exchanges has taken well over a month from start to finish, EACH TIME. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Logitech's classic canned reply which starts the broken promises parade. "Ticket for replacement was already submitted now for further approval. Just wait for the next 24-48 hours and once approved, we'll be sending you a prepaid shipping label that you can use (just print it and attach it to any kind of box that you'll be using) upon returning the old unit to us via any UPS."
The quality of the audio (of the H540) in your "test clip" at appx.11m 20s is much better than the audio in the rest of your movie. Their is a lot of background noise in your audio track-- except on your test of the 540. Thanks for your video-- useful for assessing the H540, which sounds like an affordable and good quality headset for creating screen recordings, for example.
TalsVids I don't know man, from my experience, 3 separate occasions the support has been terrible, that and it just gives me an error 43 whenever it fells like it, and the thing is a bitch to get working
I had the same problem with their H540 USB headset. Every single one that I bought and every single one that was replaced by under warranty by Logitech failed in the same way. I bought six of these, four were used the office when someone needed to join in a Skype meeting and one was mine and the other for my business partner. They all failed at the red LED in the cable. The red LED would start to flicker and then the USB connection would drop out and reset. Logitech = garbage!
Sean Greene I’ve read a lot online about reliability issues, and if I’d read those posts, it would probably have made me think twice about getting them. In the time I had them though, they worked perfectly. I later upgraded my mic equipment and sold the Logitech.
Thank you for the video,I bought it 2 days ago and realised that pads are moving little of bit and I thought they aren't ok.Thanks a lot.
You are very welcome. Glad the video was useful to you.
I really enjoyed using headset with microphone from Ez Voice because I love singing.
Thanks for the review. As Thomas wrote below the test clip best demonstrates the microphone audio quality.
I had to replace this headset a total of three times. The mute indicator light breaks consistently after two months.

I found your review very helpful especially the playback using the headset.

Can you use the 540 on your ps3? I can talk on the mic but can't hear the game. Any help?
Sorry but I don't have a PS3 to test it on.
