    I wasn't even looking for this video but it looked interesting so I clicked and this could explain why my drivers side floor pan is all rusted out. Gonna go check it out in the morning, thank you!

    for anyone curious about the passanger side, its behind the quarter panel, the drain hole is behind the quarter panel just below the antanna, if you have the access port in the middle, you can reach that side via the middle access panel. IF cleaning both these out doesnt fix ya water leak, next easy to check spot is pop the airbag panel on the passanger dash if you feel confident enough, and take a peek straight back and see if your antanna wire gromit is missing, I had water riding that down onto the passanger floor. If that dont solve ya issue sadly its probably the windshield.

    you one smart man. knows how to diagnose a problem. knows how to fix it. knows how to record it. knows how to nicely edit it. straight to the point and easy to follow. i thank you for such a wonderful set of videos. (ps you lucky that your fuse box is low. mine is higher and blocking the bolts so i have to squeeze in.)❤️‍🔥😎🤞

    Passenger side is easy...fish a big hose shop vac in. After its all out. Switch it to blower, and blow the drain out

    Thanks for this - I'm in process of removing seats so I can remove carpet - argh a mess. I see you have a vinyl floor covering - that makes sense since carpet is pretty much destroyed in my 1997 Mazda B2300. The driver side box you show is the problem on MY driver side - (thanks for this). Still exploring reason for passenger side - I do notice a plug now that "some" of carpet is removed in that area. I removed that & cleaned the sludge out. Now thanks to your help back to trying to remove the seats.

    Those rubber flaps and other devices in enclosed areas are there to prevent hornets from coming in and making a nest in your truck

    wet carpet even when its not raining ??? possibly condensation run off from the roof?? or windows draining to the floor ? its only on the left side under under the seat rear area to the front..or its just not drying from last rain fall we had.looks like a carpet pull out. soon...thanks for sharing your video..peace..

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it could be water from last rainfall even if it was weeks ago.. Takes forever to dry out underneath carpet.. And carpet pull out yes.. Best way to dry it out and you can then sit in car while it's raining and hopefully see where it's getting in..

      Check the seal on the rear 3rd brake light. If the seal is worn it will put water in the rear.

    For anyone watching. This did not fix it for me. The Rangers also have seam sealer that likes to dry up with age and water running out of the drain actually causes the leak from inside near the brake pedal. Only way to fix it take dashboard out

    Very helpful video, as I've been working on a '06 Ranger XL similar setup as yours-- lots of leaves, fir needles and yes-- previous owner was a smoker. Question: you're talking about a door with flaps (at 4:20)... is that looking through the door behind the fuse box? Looks like this inspection is my next job LOL!

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's what was underneath the leaves.. The gap at the bottom which is partially blocked by the rubber flaps is where the water should drain out..

      @monahantp3767 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tongo117 Thanks again for the help! I completed the job today. While there was quite a bit of debris built up, I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't more in the channel (fir trees are abundant in the North West, and the previous owner left the truck parked under a full canopy of firs & maple, while rarely driving the truck). What was built up I cleared out. Couldn't figure out how to free the fuse box to move it out of the way, so I followed your example. Some of those little screws holding the access doors were real buggers; I have big hands, and my 5.5mm wrench is quite small LOL! Anyway, got the job done, and best of all-- no rust! Had I not found your video, I would never have known about the need to clean that out, and the mystery sloshing sound would have continued ;) Enjoying your other Ranger videos too :D

      @@tongo117 on the 2007 ford ranger the passanger side cowlin drain hole is BEHIND the front wheel quarter panel. if you take the panel off it will be a hole right in line a few inches down from the antanna. if that dont fix it, pop the dash open where the airbag is, and check to see if the gromit where the antanna wire comes in is missing, water would come in off that and leak into mine.

      Please let us know what you find. My passenger side has been an issue for awhile - BUT ALAS - several days of rain & it's a mess again. Would the clogged filter on the drivers side be a problem on the passenger side? I've removed the weatherstripping trim & cleaned the furrows. A fellow truck owner told me to caulk around the windshield and all stripping. hmm

      @@scampalong the drain on the passanger side is a hole hidden under the quarter panel, its a few inches bellow where the antanna is. its a right pain in the butt to get too. If you got an air compressor and a really long tube you can attach too, i recommend fishing that down the cowling drain and that way and just air blasting it out. getting that quarter panel off and back on on the old rusty girls is a pain.

    • @tongo117
