    Congratulations Aliki, I'm gonna to visit Cuzco next September , I'm peruvian I have stayed in the Imperial city for ten times but I never did a trekking, this time I have decided to do the Humantay lagoon , starting in Mollepata two hours and a half to the west of Cuzco, suppose is a trek medium risk especially for its almost 4,000 metres altitude, thanks for your advice and keep travelling for Peru, I recommend you the amazon rainforest, Pacaya Samiria and Tambopata lodges, is a unknown world

    Hi Aliki! I speak about 20% conversational Spanish, did you take any note cards or a translator to help you with the verb conjugations? Excited to plan a trip!

      Hi! 😊 With 20% you should be alright! People in tourism and cities usually speak some English so with your extra 20% in Spanish I believe you will manage to communicate very well. It is a bit more difficult in rural areas. I would say I have 20% and I managed to sort out more or less everything I needed. For more complex stuff I simply used Google Translator which was easy and did the job if I had data or wifi 👀 At the time I didn't know you could download a language so it works offline too. So that's a new trick I learnt only after the trip from my viewers so you can give it a try and let me know how that goes 😊

    Did you have a language barrier or can you speak Spanish as well?

    • @AlikiTravelBlog
      @AlikiTravelBlog  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I speak a little bit, so basic communication skills and I do feel that helped a bit. Just to understand main signs and some important information. Specifically in Peru in popular tourist locations, locals tend to speak enough English. It is a bit more difficult when you travel to more remote places.
