  • Everyman comic Norm Macdonald gives a far-reaching interview on wishing farewell to David Letterman, Bill Cosby's sexual abuse allegations, the unspoken art of bombing in comedy, dealing with stage fright, and why you’re safer on airplanes.

    • @DavidBenidorm
      @DavidBenidorm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. He’s not an everyman comic, he is funny to everyone that wants to listen but not everyone wants to. It takes a while to understand his humour and once you’re in it, you’re hooked, and it can’t be replicated. You try telling one of his jokes at a table, people just laugh because of how terrible you told it. I’d say an Everyman comedian is someone who tells jokes everyman can tell to his friends.

    • @DavidBenidorm
      @DavidBenidorm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shane Gillis is an everyman comedian I’d say with the exception that he’s not telling jokes, he’s making funny observations in conversation. Norm is able to make the funny observation, but also have a killer punchline whilst weaving a story in between. Shane just seems to have a funny take on things from his own expereinces and then not have a punchline for it. He’s good I like him, but there’s a big difference between what he does and what Norm does.

That's why observational comedy is so hilarious.
