  • A $5 adapter that could save you thousands?? Might sound too good to be true, but it's true!
Check out this slip-on SO-239 to PL-259 adapter from W5SWL that might prevent your antenna from getting ripped out of a tree, or worse -- your radio from getting pulled off the table and crashing to the floor.

I saw your previous video with these. I bought 4 of them. I use them not only for preventative, but a quick swap between my three antennas in the field. Also, great for quick swap of band pass filters. They are awesome. I need more.
Another great invention are Bongo ties. I use them with eyelid screws, a washer and bolt through the openings on picnic tables. I Bongo tie the pullout legs on my 991A. Great on steering wheels when parked. I attach wires on my mast with bongos as well.
Use utility flags with feed lines and counterpoise wires. Not 100 percent effective -- People still run into them..

When I started out in h radio I had one of these connecting to the line that went outside to the antenna. Made it easy to disconnect my transceiver line from the antenna when not in use and saving the radio from a potential storms hurting the radio

Nice! I’ve been putting a couple wraps of coax around the leg of the picnic tables for this reason but my next order might include some of these connectors. -KEØVIM

You got a text message during the video. It made me look at my phone because I'm expecting to hear from Tracy. HAHA! Good product that I think my club could appreciate at Field Day and our special event days. 👍

I had seen these in the past, but was skeptical. Good to know they work! I'll be picking up a few.

I think Sean from "This Side of the Radio" could have used one of these. 73

Great point, Dan. I have a few of those. I found some are rather loose and don't capture the shell of the SO-239 so well and I had some flaky results. Maybe I should try another set. Thanks for the video! de KC0DWZ

Dan, should i sit my KX3 under a Cinder block as a counter weight? The KX3 doesn’t have much weight to it. Thanks de KD9UDV
