Good video. I think I heard you say oil based paints go on strong and bonds really good unlike latex :) I've had many bonding issues with the newest latex paints available at the home centers these days.

Thank you for the great video! Are you spraying the paint as is, no thinner? I am using a (Zinsser) oil primer which seems to be not thin at all. Will this go on without thinning? If so what paint sprayers would you recommend? Thanks again

Another great video thanks Chris...hey I notice you have the position of your tip the same way in all your videos. The spray pattern comes out as a horizontal line. If you were to adjust your tip 90 degrees it would come out as a vertical line. Do you ever change positions depending on what you're spraying? I'm just a beginner but if say I were to spray a door jamb I would have the tip like you. Great for up and down motion. If however I was to do the siding on an exterior I would rotate the tip 90 degrees and for me would be easier for that side to side motion. Is that something you were taught or your preference? Thanks man.
can you show an example larger view of what waxing looks like in different conditions?never have seen it ?

Put drop down under product and pump never know could have been a accident.Also Never put your hand over the end of the tip Same thing could happen just like tripping
i have some cases when primer isn't nessesary when do we use or dont use primer ? plus acrylic paint can be used for interior rooms ?

Chris, would you recommend using this quick dry oil based primer on an oil based painted victorian home (exterior) to convert it to latex? I want to use Duration Exterior on it once it's properly primed. Thanks.
I want to know too. I also have a Victorian home and want to paint the wood siding, but want to make sure I use the correct primer and paint.
Why do you hate oil paint? Im about to paint my mobile home with oil paint cause last time i painted it was with water paint and when it rains it got full of bubbles. It was a big nightmare. But the house exterior is metal. Now im so scared of painting it with the spray gun and with a roller will take so long. Do i still have to thin the oil base paint? Im learning with your videos. Ty

Hi Idaho Painter, I noticed that between each paint stroke their remains a line where they overlap. Why does that happen?
When spraying It helps you see where you need to overlap each stroke by50/50 % of each fan length for good coverage
Been watching a lot of your videos. Getting ready to paint the inside of my house. Going for an oil based primer (smokers house) and spraying it. Do I need to thin it out? If so. What do I thin it out with?

Just spray over electrical box and AC disconnect box like in your video
I always thought you never used oil based paint/primer through your airless due to the cleanup?
+The Idaho Painter I bet you do !! Ha ha... I only use oil based using my hvlp sprayer as clean up although still a pain is much easier than if using the airless but that only if doin trim or garage doors etc. 😀 keep the good work up though...would love to work on some of the properties you work on 👍

Mineral spirit will thin and clean oil based primers and paints, read the can for ratio, sometimes it doesn’t say on can because they don’t Recommend for their products to be reduced.

Even though Hardiplank siding boards come pre-primed, do you recommand to paint another coat of primer?
Not primer but two coats of paint

Good stuff @idahopainter I have a question. can I paint a brick home with this product or will it have to be Kilz exterior oil based primer. Also planning on painting with a 2 coat waterbase Sherwin Williams duracraft product. Let me know if that's the way to go.
We paint brick homes with solid color stains. I would not recommend duracraft
