As an owner of two old houses I’m seriously considering to buy a scaffolding at Harbor Freight. And I believe it will make this job significantly easier
Project Farm is one of my favorite TH-cam channels and happy to give him the shout out since I would have never known about that product without his help. Thanks so much for watching.
What an amazing video man! I’ll definitely be using it to help me on my home paint project. Great job on not only painting your house, but filming and creating this video. It’s a ton of work, but you got it done. Well done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Titan is better though! Haha I know, same company. Just more pro made tools..😅 seriously though, I use a Titan 6800 to paint the sewers for up to 16hrs a day non stop and that hydraulic rig is OP! 3 years of use and I've only replaced motor mounts and a belt... that's with the rig running while in the back of a moving truck including off-road.
Absolutely great job!! Ive got almost the exact same issue as you, just that my paint is a bit worse. Ill follow your video all the way through for my project. Much appreciated!!!
Most European chaulk guns don't have them. Although they are pretty nice and don't even need that much pressure. And I have an knife with me al the time
Loved this! Thank you for making this video. I will be going one side of the house at a time just making sure that everything is on point. Your work was inspiring!❤❤❤
Great job! If were to have that sidings, Id probably pass out just thinking about sanding and properly prime it for repainting lol. I think you’re better off replacing the sidings because a lot of your wood are warped.
Thats literally what it demonstrates in the Wagner commercials. Not talking about human error, which I'm sure there is plenty haha! Thanks for watching Josh.
About 5 years ago I painted a foundation a darker color that the siding on the house. It looked great, everyone loved it. Got complements from neighbors and such. The new owners of the house have kept it. Still the same paint that I put on.
Is there a teacher pole you can attach a scrapper to , to scrap fascia board that’s 20 dr or so high? Or does one have to get on a ladder to scrap that?
Ladder is really the only way to go to get up close and make sure it was prepped right. I get it though, I have a 3 story house that was 28~36ft tall all around with no helper. It was... fun..
@@BYOTools just my experience with paint on wood clapboard. It will start peeling and fading within 4 to 5 years and you will have to sand it back and repaint. Nothing about your job in particular, it's just how paint on wood is.
Great job. Now can you hop over to Ireland and do mine please? How on earth did you manage to get the pvc boards up there? Hope you had some help for that at least.
Is the old stuff lead paint? Are there special considerations that need to be taken besides the respirator and plastic lining on the ground? I have an old house that I’m planning on repainting.
Lol yes I knew about that cutter. No I wouldn’t want to do all that work period lol. But do it right because who wants to do it twice ?? excellent job Bondo for your house hee hee. Is that rosin paper or just plain?
Looks great! I’m not gonna lie when you put out the paver walkway video I was thinking to myself he needs to do something about that siding before worrying about pavers! Lol looks awesome! What area of Washington are you in? I am coast guard and lived in Westport for 3 years. We are from California but may retire in the Olympia area!
Chances are if you see something wrong you know I've thought about it before haha. I'm up in North Seattle James. Thanks so much for watching and the support.
I’m embarking on the exact journey with my 1950s house. One question, do I only prime the sanded down areas? I noticed where your old paint was bonded you did not prime. Thanks in advance.
I wonder if you can do most of this same project with a brick house. I have been wanting to paint our house for some time now but always get nervous. Not the best painter. But the spray gun looks fairly easy and the tape job didn’t look horrible.
Anyone can do this one. Just remember that the prep takes TIME to do correctly. Luckily though if your house is brick then you could actually spray the primer on vs rolling it. keep that in mind.
Looks great and that white trim paint looks amazing. I'm in the process of painting my house and I could've used that paint eater for my peeling paint, I used my handy dandy butter knife though. It did the trick lol
Was this timely or what? I have an exterior wall to paint. Nesting birds made a bit of a mess, which I have cleaned up. Next comes prep and then the painting.
My dad helped for a couple hours but like most projects it was mainly ME. The rest of the house doesn't look this bad due to the sun. Will probably still paint the other sides eventually. Thanks for asking and watching Roger.
well..... thanks to you my wife wants to paint the house this weekend...I was planning to do nothing! I don't know if I should thank you or unsubscribe.... neh, just kidding. amazing work and thank you! (painting situation this weekend is for real... sadly for me :(
Great video. thanks Sir. I have a question. My house exterior has a piece of Cedar fall off (2 * 5 center meters). How could I check there are Mold & Mildew? If there are, how to remove it? Glue a new piece? thanks
What type paint is best for exterior without much expense ? -south side of house is completely exposed to sun all year. Cause I may repaint in few yrs time for color change.
Omg,finally a guy who fully understands how to prep and paint
It is a pleasure to watch a video where every product used is told to the viewer as well as how to apply it.
As an owner of two old houses I’m seriously considering to buy a scaffolding at Harbor Freight. And I believe it will make this job significantly easier
How did it go? I have an older home with a scary dormer windows situation on the 2nd floor. Scaffolding might be part of the solution.😀
Scaffolding is a time saver and makes 5his and other jobs much safer.
I did this for a house with shake siding with layers of pealing paint and it worked great.
That project farm shout out is absolutely goated. Props for shouting him out.

Missed a spot!😆 Just kidding. Well done, sir!
Excellent, thanks for the video. It was a big help, I'm painting a house built in 1891.
Looks just like my siding. 1950s wood battered by the Seattle rain and sun. I need to give it a refresh!
Well now you have a perfect step by step tutorial right?! Haha. Thanks so much for watching.
The exterior looks brand new! Excellent work with your Wagner tools to get the job done!
Is the paint eater available in The Netherlands?
Titan is better though! Haha I know, same company. DUDE! Amazing video. So professionally produced and so detailed.
Absolutely great job!! Ive got almost the exact same issue as you, just that my paint is a bit worse. Ill follow your video all the way through for my project. Much appreciated!!!
Makes me want to be a Painter..😊 boy that paint gun kinda looks like fun
I only buy caulk guns with the cutter and the pokey thing, so nice! That looks like a great spraying system and it (and you) did a beautiful job.
A good caulk gun can make life so much easier that's for sure. Thanks for watching as always Di :)
Im gonna have to ger me one of those airless sprayers! Beautiful job. Makes me want to paint something!
Most European chaulk guns don't have them. Although they are pretty nice and don't even need that much pressure. And I have an knife with me al the time
@@TheNigaHigaFan4Ever ah, you must have a Metric Caulk Gun 😜
Yes another byot video! Greetings from the netherlands! (03:33 am)
You are a diehard Esteban. Thanks so much for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.
Thank you for all that you shared! 2 years later it still helping people like me.
I prime the entire surface before applying new paint, primer is the step most folks skip
Excellent way of explaining in details as per standard. Appreciated 🎉
Looks great!
Amazing, I enjoy the color.
Great to hear! I love the combo as well.

Thanks for all the detailed information along with explanation as to why.
My pleasure and thanks so much for watching.
Wow! you are a perfectionist I love it!! it feels so satisfying when you look at the results of your hard work!! Stunning!!
Dude!!! Project farm is awesome! !! Good content thank you!
I think you did a very great job painting your house
Loved this! Thank you for making this video. I will be going one side of the house at a time just making sure that everything is on point. Your work was inspiring!❤❤❤
Shout out to Wagner...Every video watched There Brand and products are 1st pick
Good professional job!!
Great job! If were to have that sidings, Id probably pass out just thinking about sanding and properly prime it for repainting lol. I think you’re better off replacing the sidings because a lot of your wood are warped.
Great job, Brent! Looks fantastic.
Awesome job Brent!
Love the zinnzer great product 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Truly one of my favorite brands. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for this. I have to do this on the south-facing sides of my buildings urgently.
Lots of tips in this video. I need to find that rust application for a small area
This will probably take me all summer 😅
I gave ya the 600th like, simply because you da man! Keep up the great, well organized and easy to follow content.
Paint sprayer is very efficient when it comes to overspray. Haha love it!
Thats literally what it demonstrates in the Wagner commercials. Not talking about human error, which I'm sure there is plenty haha! Thanks for watching Josh.
Great video
More and more, I like Zinsser products. Beautifully done.
Yep I'm a big fan of Zinsser as well Lisa. Great product line.
Excellent video !! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Yes! I started painting the foundations year’s ago, especially since the previous painters got paint all over it anyway 🥵
Thank you sharing.
Thanks for the video

I love this shade of blue! Seriously considering repainting the exterior. I was outvoted though so, I may be stuck with the current color.
Your tips are very useful. Thank you for sharing
Looks good. Get ready to do it once every five years.
Haha well glad it looks good at least. Why do you think that John? Just because of the sun?
@@BYOTools just my experience with paint on wood clapboard. It will start peeling and fading within 4 to 5 years and you will have to sand it back and repaint. Nothing about your job in particular, it's just how paint on wood is.
Dark colour guarantees regular repainting..simple.
I love that blue and white! The "imperfect" boards look great. It's real. None of that is manufactured fake wood.
Another great job Brent!!👍👍
Thanks for watching as always Bryan. Great to hear you enjoyed the video.
Love the videos!
Thanks for being on top of it Matt and glad you enjoy my videos.
Hey Brent, great work. Do you have link to the mask you used in the sanding process and painting process?
Thanks so much for mentioning that Sammy. I just added it to the list and here it is just incase: amzn.to/3yP2Lsp
Thanks for the video. Planning to use your tips in re-painting of my shed.
That outro song is bangin!
Looks great! I'm inspired to give it a go now
What a wonderful tutoring video, that makes me confident and satisfied with my previous presentation of tools and concerns. Thank you very much 🙏🙏
This guy loves the word caulk
I only heard him say cowlk
BYOT? Pretty clever haha surprised it hasn't been used yet
Haha Right?! Thanks for watching
you definitely did get overspray on that wooden soffit, how did you remedy that?
very detailed tips
+1 for the project farm callout
Great job. Now can you hop over to Ireland and do mine please? How on earth did you manage to get the pvc boards up there? Hope you had some help for that at least.
I'll be over next week Emer haha. And nope just me on the PVC boards. A little awkward at first but once I got two nails in it we were good to go.
@@BYOTools Good man yourself. I'll have the kettle on! Janey mac fair play to ya doing that solo. Tip my hat to you. I couldn't have done it.

Thanks so much for watching as always and it was just plain paper I used. Thanks for asking.
Looks great! You've fixed the bird problem, but now you'll have to figure out how to fix the drone problem!
LOL! Luckily my little drone is tough and still is in one piece haha! Thanks for all your continued support GB.
With the concrete siding trim at the base why not continue the timber cladding all the way down? Or popcorn cement stucco and painted.
thanks for the vid - miriam makeba = nice touch!❤

That's a nice mask😎😌🔥
What about painting the concrete foundation gray after painting it blue? Toyota has a truck color called cement.
What was the spray cleaner on the rust? Not listed.
I’m embarking on the exact journey with my 1950s house. One question, do I only prime the sanded down areas? I noticed where your old paint was bonded you did not prime. Thanks in advance.
The eternal question...caulk or prime first? Especially around windows.
Caulking first
What is ''fully dry'' ??Since a dry surface is misleading. Do l need a moisture analyser they use on lumber ?

Why didn’t you use sprayer to apply the white primer also? Faster , easier?

It looks like you have a slight sheen to your paint. Did you use a satin sheen?
Was this timely or what? I have an exterior wall to paint. Nesting birds made a bit of a mess, which I have cleaned up. Next comes prep and then the painting.
haha LOVE hearing that Martha. Good luck on your project and let me know how it turns out. Thanks as always for your support.
One thing, you suppose to buff the lose paint off before you pressure wash …. But you still did a good job
What is the color of the Sherwin Williams exterior paint used?
Great job Brent.! The new paint looks awesome. Big undertaking. Did you have any helpers? Did you do the rest of the house?
My dad helped for a couple hours but like most projects it was mainly ME. The rest of the house doesn't look this bad due to the sun. Will probably still paint the other sides eventually. Thanks for asking and watching Roger.

What are you using to clean the pipe? ‘Bright’ cleaner? I can’t tell what you’re saying and don’t see it listed.
Great video. thanks Sir. I have a question. My house exterior has a piece of Cedar fall off (2 * 5 center meters). How could I check there are Mold & Mildew? If there are, how to remove it? Glue a new piece? thanks
I used POR-15 on my Jeeps floor boards. You have to clean up as much as you can and then put it on and it'll suffocate any rust that is left.
Great to hear Scott and fully agree. Thanks for sharing and watching. hope you enjoyed the video.
Why not spray on the primer? Just curious. Getting ready to paint my house and find your video very helpful.
Primer is a pain to clean out of an airless sprayer. Almost as bad as oil-based paint
How long did it take you to paint eat the house and was the total sq footage? Did you need more than 1 pad for the paint eater?
Can you please do a mud room & a timber slatted room divider?
Did you have to thin out your paint at all?

What type paint is best for exterior without much expense ? -south side of house is completely exposed to sun all year. Cause I may repaint in few yrs time for color change.
still easier for me to roll and brush, overspray is tricky
What kind of pressure washer is that?
How do you finish off the side of the trim?
One question here: Aren't you supposed to caulk those butt joints or gaps between weatherboards?
*LET'S GO DOYARS!!!*
How many labor hours do you estimate went into this job?
Calk has to be one of my favorite words and I don't know why
Did you have to thin the paint?
Nope! This sprayer worked perfectly with this paint as is.
Hou many time did you spend on it ?
that paint eater would’ve been real helpful for when my elderly neighbor asked my brother an i to do this to his house lol
Well now you know for next time haha! Thanks for watching.
