actually a recent thingy happened where you CAN lend your disc to other people on other Xbox Ones... how is not really explained all that well but it is confirmed that you can
***** Even if the Xbox One isn't like this now, Microsoft still tried to make it like this. When a company needs to back-peddle as much as they did (Getting rid of DRM, stopping the 24hr check-in, dropping the kinect), it shouldn't put a lot of confidence in them for the future.
The day after the conference, it was reported that sales of the WiiU jumped up 400% on Amazon's Europe market. Makes sense, since the Xbone probably won't be able to be sold in Europe (what Microsoft has in place for the Xbone's used/loaned game market is technically illegal according to the European courts).
You can lend your game to people, if they pay full price. That's pretty much guaranteed at this point. You can however, play a game on another system IF you sign in with your own account.
Both Valve and Nintendo have been looking into a used-game service for Digital titles. I'm not sure how it'll work and they aren't really talking about it yet, but the fact that they even brought it up in the 1st place means that used-games may survive long into the future.
What oidisco said. Hell, a friend of mine even said "It's to combat the piracy market", and when I said it also blocks off used games (at the time I didn't know about Microsoft trying to instead rule the used games market for their console themselves) and borrowing, he replied "Go to your friends house then. I don't see the problem here."
Yes!!! Been wanting to rewatch this since it ended last night, so much fun with you guys, making such drab shit and turning it into a fun night's viewing
Watched Fraser's reaction live and learned this news right alongside him. I'm not an Xbox fan, but this has legitimately depressed me. I don't like where this industry is going, and and where it has been going for a long time. I hope the Xbox One fails so Microsoft and others know that this isn't okay.
He's not a hypocrite, that quote your using is from a game he complained about. You are using it now for a console he is complaining about, you can't compare the two. Thats like complaining about a movie and it was because of the DVD player. Consoles once made are pretty much set in stone (kinda) once made their kinda hard to change.
I don't understand. If you have the Xbox One connected, does it hijack your tv tuner and force you to only watch tv with it on? If it does, then reason #876 not to get the console.
What is the real deal breaker for me is the fee for used games, if the fee turns out to be something small, say $5, I wont gripe that much. If I do borrow a game from a friend, then I will be getting a complete copy of the game and they can still keep their own copy, so that means people can go in on one game and share it between themselves and then only pay a $5 start fee and they can all play. Instead of one person borrowing the disk, and the owner being unable to play as well.
Well for me I'm one of the ones that keep giving consoles another try only to get bored and go back to my computer because the games are just more diverse (and cheaper). Heh, I was the only one that didn't see the big deal with Goldeneye or Halo because I had Unreal Tournament and Tribes.
It would be if Steamgames weren't priced accordingly IE much cheaper than retail and such making it easier for people to buy. also not requireing Internet to play. Only to install.
dude that was the guy that replied to you. lol. I just realized this as I'm writing...maybe I'm an idiot but that's hilarious. He didn't even change his name...
14:39 Also with steam after you install it you can play on offline mode which allows both people to play games at the sametime, of course the offliner won't be able to play multiplayer but thats the only downside.
Steam you can play on any system you have or go elsewhere and sign in and play. Will Xbox let you sign onto another system and play. I vote GOG. I was a die hard Nintendo fan but now I am basically Indie and GOG on pc. I probably will break down and get a Wii U in time but I am happy with what I got on the PC for now.
I would say I'm surprised at how many people are out there right now supporting the Xbox One with the claim that other people don't have sources to back the 'rumors' up....but then I remembered that this is the internet...
I don't even know. The confusion has ruled the day. Kotaku released a story saying that the kinect can be turned off but the entire console will be turned off as well. They say there are privacy settings, but what those settings are or how to access them is still a mystery that probably won't be solved at least until E3 at worst when you actually get the console (HA HA HA HA). Yes, I was wrong in my previous comment.
Everyone should go watch "Playstation Meeting 2013 Show and Trailer!" and compare fraser's atitude and just compare sony's event to this one even in the first minuet alone.
"I just think it's funny how much people feel that game companies owe them. [...] To sum it up, my opinion on it; they can do what they want. [...] That doesn't mean you're going to like it as a consumer, maybe you'll stop buying their games. [...] Let the market dictate what they do, their business practices." - Fraser Agar, Mass Effect 2 is AWESOME! Part 22
I haven't looked into this myself but I heard that the PS4 is going to cost something like $900 and $120 for the games. For that price somebody could put an amazing PC together!
I may sound ignorant because I am not up to date has sony confirmed that they aren't doing the exact same thing. I remember hearing rumors that the ps4 will have disc licences on it to and they didn't bring it up in the press conference from what I recall they didn't announce very much in the ps4 conference. I really don't know just asking before I get hounded, still waiting till e3 before committing on what I will and will not buy.
In the Uk since the XBOne was revealed the Wii U on Amazon jumped from the 390 spot to nº15 just in 3 days and the Uk is a place where XBox sales very well that proves that gamers a very much against the next Xbox and Microsoft. P.S.:Amazon UK also as listed EarthBound for Wii U at 40£ this could be nothing but it could also be a new game or a HD remake, I don't expect much but Amazon also putted Luigi U (if I'm not mistaken) as a retailed copy before the Nintendo Direct
The heads of Microsoft have clearly never lived in a rural area. Having to go back to rural Nevada when I'm out of college, it takes at least 8 hours to download DLC, let alone an entire game. Plus the internet goes down constantly. I went against popular demand back in 2008 and got a PS3 and I do not regret it. I will certainly be sticking with Sony for PS4.
Girahims favorite game console was Xbox. He was waiting for Xbox one after getting beat by Link, then he saw live release of it. He says... If you know Girahim, you can imagine what he says, nuff said.
Twitter filled with so many fanboys, "I don't care what xbox does, it will still come out on top". And yea, a bunch of people complaining about how we should all wait until E3.
I don't want to be "that guy" but this is the reason we should support a system like the Ouya even though it's download only (at least they support indies) What does Micro$oft do on that level. At this point any good M$ does will be with a "catch", like for example we'll have indie games do well but make it as hard as possible for indie to upload games.
The content of the quote isn't an issue. He says that people will vote with their wallet on the issue. Which is what he's asking people to do with the Xbox One. Basically that quote is consistent with his current view of the issue. His anger is so intense simply because he doesn't want this new policy to become the norm and he's extremely worried that people will just accept it.
You clearly didn't watch the video considering you dared to compare the two. Buying a game on steam is like waiting a week and buying the game at a pawn shop. Dirt cheap but no refunds unless it's broken. This is NOT the same as what Xbox is doing selling things at full price forever and never allowing you to sell them back. Plus steam has a marketplace in the works that lets you sell your used games (see: Dota2 copies for 2 cents) and we also have GOG which is DRM-Free.
One of the reasons why I'm not buying the Xbox One is this. If when the Xbox 360 first came out all had to be returned because of overheating, what do you think will happen to Xbox One if it requires you to keep it on at all times?
Probably one of the most entertaining channels on TH-cam; video game related or other-wise.
Ahhh...the memories of 6 months ago.
Ahhh... the memories of 2 years and 6 months ago.
+David Burr Umm.. 3 years ago?
+Kerzid huh?
Kerzid 4 years now?
5 years now.... Wow how time flies.
I love how confused Deacon looks. XD
without you guys I would have the worst console in my house thx guys your the best :D
The highlights- TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV...2 hours later TV TV TV TV TV.
This is one of those videos that gets more funny the more times you watch it.
They'll be Blistered Thumbs buddies. (Both they're shows appeared on Blistered Thumbs at some point.)
That music + Fraser breakdown = AWESOME start
Had to watch again for that Frash Rant at the beginning, Beautiful.
I love Becky's face during Fraser's reaction at the beginning. She's just staring like "oh shit oh shit oh shit"
For feedback, I'd suggest you guys turn the music just a little bit down when you're talking.
actually a recent thingy happened where you CAN lend your disc to other people on other Xbox Ones... how is not really explained all that well but it is confirmed that you can
This was an amazing way to start the show. It felt like I was watching a movie trailer! XD
You do realize this was streamed on the day of the conference, so the news was quite fresh 3 weeks ago. Please read when videos are posted.
Thank you Frash-Frash for this: This news was the deciding factor of going from Microsoft to Sony.
Why did you put two lols?
You're an Xbox slave aren't you? lol
*****
Oh I'm sure SOME PEOPLE would've gotten one regardless because they are such fanboys of Microsoft.
;)

AND years later Microsoft Xbox One still has problems.
;)

I watched part 2 before I noticed this one, but, again, I'm positively surprised to see Fraser and crew like this.
Thankfully they've already made a statement (I feel that it was by Tretton but maybe not) that they're not doing anything to prevent used games.
Uh both, because it does apply here. I don't think you fully understood what you quoted there.
First time hearing about the sony stock jump. That's hard to ignore.
I had no idea Boosh was popular outside the UK, whats your favorite episode? mine has to be the legend of old gregg.
You can lend your game to people, if they pay full price. That's pretty much guaranteed at this point.

what is that beat in the background it sounds awesome!!!
But in your other response to me, you agreed that the quote applies here. So, which is it?
I'm actually planning on getting a Wii U this generation. It looks like it will be worth it. I already have a PS3 and a PC.
What oidisco said. Hell, a friend of mine even said "It's to combat the piracy market", and when I said it also blocks off used games (at the time I didn't know about Microsoft trying to instead rule the used games market for their console themselves) and borrowing, he replied "Go to your friends house then. I haven't seen Fraser this mad since the apartment was on fire in Heavy Rain
That background music really complements The Frage
Hope you guys play Metro Last Light on the show...it's pretty intense...
THIS is why I love Frash
Thank you, Micro$oft, for turning me back into a Playstation fan.
It was also about on-disk DLC, not DLC in general. You, my friend, have just lied about the context.
Yes!!! Been wanting to rewatch this since it ended last night, so much fun with you guys, making such drab shit and turning it into a fun night's viewing
are you guys going to get a xbox one for the show?
I'm not Fraser's biggest fan but man. That was fucking awesome. Great job, Frash-Frash.
Lol I love the dramatic music that plays.
Watched Fraser's reaction live and learned this news right alongside him. I'm not an Xbox fan, but this has legitimately depressed me. I don't like where this industry is going, and and where it has been going for a long time. I hope the Xbox One fails so Microsoft and others know that this isn't okay.
Oh, everyone loves Old Gregg! My favourite is Tundra ;)
Haha, yeah. I made a Mighty Boosh stamp and stamped it on my shirt with fabric paint ;D
What's the music at the very beginning?
Also "LIVING" and "PERSISTENT WORLD"
i'm kinda glad my 360broke down, i bought a vita with the store credit i got for it
wow im so for the PS4 now
Oh my God, I loved watching this live.
I don't understand. If you have the Xbox One connected, does it hijack your tv tuner and force you to only watch tv with it on? If it does, then reason #876 not to get the console.

Heh, I was the only one that didn't see the big deal with Goldeneye or Halo because I had Unreal Tournament and Tribes.
So, I'm guessing because of this, that renting games will be out then too?
Well put.
It would be if Steamgames weren't priced accordingly IE much cheaper than retail and such making it easier for people to buy. also not requireing Internet to play. Only to install.
The sony Conference was pretty MEH to me, but now, in perspective, its amaaaazing.

After watching the whole thing i turned on captions.
"Say fuck it, birds were true"
I completely agree with you. People are living in denial about used games. It's a trivial matter to begin with, and no one will care in a year.
Vote for Sony, but hedge your bets on Nintendo. Those motherfuckers will survive, through sheer perseverance alone.
I don't know wether to cry, laugh or get mad.
I would say I'm surprised at how many people are out there right now supporting the Xbox One with the claim that other people don't have sources to back the 'rumors' up....but then I remembered that this is the internet...

Welcome back.
Everyone should go watch "Playstation Meeting 2013 Show and Trailer!" and compare fraser's atitude and just compare sony's event to this one even in the first minuet alone.
Yes! I missed the live show.
games are fairly priced in steam
"I just think it's funny how much people feel that game companies owe them. [...] To sum it up, my opinion on it; they can do what they want. True if you didnt but it it would limit your show from the new games. And with that I take your obviously gonna get the PS4
I may sound ignorant because I am not up to date has sony confirmed that they aren't doing the exact same thing. And supposedly the new kinect will be able to read vitals.
i am the only one with no 360 quality? thats the best resolution i can watch online... damn you slow internet connection!
This was over 6 years ago and I still got shit internet. 3 mbps and usually downloads in the kbs range
In the Uk since the XBOne was revealed the Wii U on Amazon jumped from the 390 spot to nº15 just in 3 days and the Uk is a place where XBox sales very well that proves that gamers a very much against the next Xbox and Microsoft.

And I have had system freezes less than a year after I bought it. I haven't had a sony product since the PS1, but ...sheesh.
You can trade, It's called "steam GIFT-ing" meaning you can give a game to your friend for free by trading him.
The heads of Microsoft have clearly never lived in a rural area. Having to go back to rural Nevada when I'm out of college, it takes at least 8 hours to download DLC, let alone an entire game. There won't be any Xbox fans soon enough.
They really dropped the ball on this one.
This was absolutely amazing. Best episode of VGA ever!
I rewatch this yearly I remember this so well
@@awildmoose6541 fr i always comeback to watch this
Re-watching this video and the PS Greatness Awaits trailer played ... oh TH-cam :)
where the hell did you hear that?
i wished i could have joined but i couldn't
Yeah, but if it's for tv, people can sit on their couch and watch tv for hours end. It might as well be 'on at all times.'
Wooh hold on, is becky wearing a mighty boosh t-shirt?
Its our time PlayStation Nation
Twitter filled with so many fanboys, "I don't care what xbox does, it will still come out on top". And yea, a bunch of people complaining about how we should all wait until E3.
To be fair, about microsoft's stock, Microsofts chief product is not the xBox whereas Sony dies generate the most revenue from Playstation.
I fucking love post-E3/reveal/announcement shitstorms!
I don't want to be "that guy" but this is the reason we should support a system like the Ouya even though it's download only (at least they support indies) What does Micro$oft do on that level. I seen this coming years ago. Wish I recorded it to have proof but still. That's why I stuck hear Sony and Nintendo.
1:27 Fraser channeled Angry Joe.
999 was amazing. Can't wait for Zero Escape 3.
You clearly didn't watch the video considering you dared to compare the two.
