Ive had the luxury of raising 2 fawns when their mother had gotten some kind of disease and went nuts one day in my front yard. She passed thru about everyday with her babys. The fawns were approximately 5-7 days old when she died. Luckily they didn't contract whatever that sickness was,but it was hard to watch her decline over the day. And when animal control finally came out, they got the 2 fawns trapped and i couldn't stand to see that shit. So i told animal control that after they checked the fawns out, bring them back to me and i care for them. After several days of them gone, I heard Beavis and Butthead outside barking up a storm ( my Rottweilers) and animal control brought them to me and said good luck. They were a handful at first, but have grown up into beautiful animals. I turned them loose one day to see what they would do. They bounced across my land and over the hill. I thought I'd never see them again. But a hour later they brought a friend home with them and were stompin on my front porch and have never left since then..I have 2 beautiful daughters and a step daughter eat' n up my honeysuckle and blackberries during season...

Germ theory vs. terrain theory, I guess. To each their own. This deer is piebald, probably deliberately bred to be that way on a deer farm. I suspect this is a bottle baby they had to bring indoors. So it kinda is like a pet :) I think baby, doodle dog, and deer will be okay. But of course you have the right to disagree and deal with the health of yourself and your family in your own ways.

To those having issues with this deer being indoors in captivity and not in the ‘wild’ with its mother, from this particular deer’s markings, I would be willing to bet money that it’s from a deer farm, which, like any other livestock, deer will sometimes reject a baby for no apparent reason, or reject one of a pair of twins, in which case it’s up to the humans to raise it. I’ve lived close to two deer farms during my lifetime and this seems like exactly that sort of situation. In which case this young fawn is also very unlikely to pass disease to the child, as it’s parents and possibly itself have been vaccinated. If you’re wondering what I mean by markings, the fawn appears to have a variation of ‘piebald’ coloring, which is partial lack of pigmentation in the skin. The big white patch that covers part of its face is not usually there in the wild, but some people breed for it.

there's a reason people are worried about the deer in the house. 1. Its ears aren't curled which means it was getting a good dose of milk by the mom. Mother does leave their babies alone in a safe place for long intervals but always come back unless they meet a tragic fate. If a deer's ears are curled, it's because they're dehydrated, which means the mom hasn't returned, suggesting she probably passed away. It is only safe to rescue a fawn THEN. If the ears aren't curled, it's kind of kidnapping. 2. No matter how pure, animals may contain diseases or other carriers which can spread to a human, even with minimal contact. Babies have a weakened immune system comparatively, so they will get sicker than adults. 3. It's extremely cute but let's hope the fawn was returned. EDIT: I didn't know my comment would start a war. Fairly certain they knew the animal was bug and disease free or they would not have let it in their home. They brought this fawn inside in a box. They may have some sort of rescue. If they are taking care of this Cute little critter because something happened to mom, then I’m sure the little bugger has been checked out. That fawn looked so clean it looked like it had been bathed, and had a check up. Don’t know any people that would bring a wild animal into their home to infest their home with bugs and disease. i am a wild animal behavior specialist. Even if they are a legit sanctuary exposing That deer to human is putting it at Risk and wont be abble to be return to the wild. Thats the problem. because of that video, they took away is chance of a normal life. He can also have some bacteria wich can be givin to the baby. If u found a young animal like that, isolate him in a secure place and call aurorities. He is really young anf need to be fed every 2 hours.

I remember in the nomads a day we were shifting from one place to another on our way we (me and 2 elder brothers) saw baby deer with her mother and we took it willing to keep it with us, when we brought the goats to the new place my mom who reached there before us saw we are carrying a baby deer and said "her mother is worrying about her don't you have hearts why did you do that?" Those words melted my heart although I was the youngest with no role in the action 💔 and there were no possible way to return it back since we went so far and couldn't find her mother's spot even if we went back😢 from that day any separation of a family member hurts me hard.
My dad is a retired game warden. sometimes moms get hit in the road and someone finds the fawn. We often had fawns at our home until we could find a rescue to take them. It just happens sometimes.

People do like to help animals, so if this baby’s mother never came back or was hit by a car people will raise a fond or take it to a sanctuary so when it’s time they can release it or relocate it to a safe environment. "Stoled a fond". Omg. And yes, it is a VERY common thing & a huge problem; The fine people at Fish & Game or any professional animal rescue league can explain it. A ton of people see a fawn by itself in the woods, think it's abandoned, put their human scent on it by patting it/bringing it home & that RUINS it (even if they do attempt to release it). The mom will never come back. Fawns are SUPPOSSED to be alone for hours at a time in the wild, the mom runs off as to not attract predators to her baby. The mom visits the fawn couple times a day for feedings. The mom also will relocate the fawn every couple days. Only time to touch a fawn is NEVER, if you see a fawn in the same place for several days, you call professionals because the mom "may" have been killed. Humans have been screwing with how the mom's are naturally suppossed to tend to their babies & the mom never cones back after an uneducated human touches or pats the fawn.

After several days of them gone, I heard Beavis and Butthead outside barking up a storm ( my Rottweilers) and animal control brought them to me and said good luck. They were a handful at first, but have grown up into beautiful animals. I turned them loose one day to see what they would do. They bounced across my land and over the hill. I thought I'd never see them again. But a hour later they brought a friend home with them and were stompin on my front porch and have never left since then..I have 2 beautiful daughters and a step daughter eat' n up my honeysuckle and blackberries during season...

This deer is piebald, probably deliberately bred to be that way on a deer farm. I suspect this is a bottle baby they had to bring indoors. So it kinda is like a pet :)

To those having issues with this deer being indoors in captivity and not in the ‘wild’ with its mother, from this particular deer’s markings, I would be willing to bet money that it’s from a deer farm, which, like any other livestock, deer will sometimes reject a baby for no apparent reason, or reject one of a pair of twins, in which case it’s up to the humans to raise it.
I’ve lived close to two deer farms during my lifetime and this seems like exactly that sort of situation. In which case this young fawn is also very unlikely to pass disease to the child, as it’s parents and possibly itself have been vaccinated.
If you’re wondering what I mean by markings, the fawn appears to have a variation of ‘piebald’ coloring, which is partial lack of pigmentation in the skin. The big white patch that covers part of its face is not usually there in the wild, but some people breed for it.

there's a reason people are worried about the deer in the house.
1. Its ears aren't curled which means it was getting a good dose of milk by the mom. Mother does leave their babies alone in a safe place for long intervals but always come back unless they meet a tragic fate. If a deer's ears are curled, it's because they're dehydrated, which means the mom hasn't returned, suggesting she probably passed away. It is only safe to rescue a fawn THEN.
If the ears aren't curled, it's kind of kidnapping.
2. No matter how pure, animals may contain diseases or other carriers which can spread to a human, even with minimal contact. Babies have a weakened immune system comparatively, so they will get sicker than adults.
3. It's extremely cute but let's hope the fawn was returned.

i am a wild animal behavior specialist. Even if they are a legit sanctuary exposing That deer to human is putting it at Risk and wont be abble to be return to the wild. Thats the problem. because of that video, they took away is chance of a normal life. He can also have some bacteria wich can be givin to the baby. If u found a young animal like that, isolate him in a secure place and call aurorities. He is really young anf need to be fed every 2 hours.
Ideally, humans shouldn't have such animals as pets or in captivity. Properly return the deer to it's mother. Use an expert agency if you must.

My dad is a retired game warden. sometimes moms get hit in the road and someone finds the fawn. We often had fawns at our home until we could find a rescue to take them. It just happens sometimes.

For the negative people who think they just stoled a fond for fun, grow up! People do like to help animals, so if this baby’s mother never came back or was hit by a car people will raise a fond or take it to a sanctuary so when it’s time they can release it or relocate it to a safe environment. And there’s nothing wrong with that!❤❤❤
"Stoled a fond". Omg. And yes, it is a VERY common thing & a huge problem; The fine people at Fish & Game or any professional animal rescue league can explain it. A ton of people see a fawn by itself in the woods, think it's abandoned, put their human scent on it by patting it/bringing it home & that RUINS it (even if they do attempt to release it). The mom will never come back. Fawns are SUPPOSSED to be alone for hours at a time in the wild, the mom runs off as to not attract predators to her baby. The mom visits the fawn couple times a day for feedings. The mom also will relocate the fawn every couple days. Only time to touch a fawn is NEVER, if you see a fawn in the same place for several days, you call professionals because the mom "may" have been killed. Humans have been screwing with how the mom's are naturally suppossed to tend to their babies & the mom never cones back after an uneducated human touches or pats the fawn.
