In my opinion, Bob Avila is one of the greatest horsemen of all time. Few people have accomplished as much.

Great interview! Avila videos are why I got into Cow Horse back in the late 90s. Heroes & Friends with Robinson, Bergen and Slack.

Let me start up by saying rest in peace Bob, it was an honor to call you friend. Not for anyone that’s reading this. We were not best friends, but we called each other friend a few times we got to ride together. It was an honor I just heard today that he passed so I left a voicemail with his family. Anyway may he rest in peace everybody pray for his family.

More cool history! I’ve ridden both Boomernic and Paid By Chic. When I kept Paid By Chic legged up the year we hauled him for the AQHA World Cutting I would only long trot him. His extended long trot was unreal and covered more ground than anyone loping in the arena. Problem was I had to ride him for hours to keep his mind right. I long trotted him so long the night of the World Show finals that my britches were stuck to the bloody sores on my ass😂. I was told when Avila would show him that had guys riding him in shifts😂. He was such a freak of nature and could turn so fast he’d blur your vision. One time Avila and the hero’s and friends clinic came to the Babcock Ranch and Bergen took Paid By Chic down the fence and got dumped cause he turned the cow back so fast. Todd said he was the only horse that’d ever done that. I wished they would’ve bred him to better mares

Fortunately Bob didn't buy into the F bombs along with Clinton. I can still have respect for Bob. He doesn't know me but he is one of my mentors with his DVDs.

When I watching this and I really payed attention to the part where y'all where talking about the care of horses. I never have had a expensive horse, but I treated the 2500 dollar horse like a 250000 horse

Love hearing some Major Bonanza history. I have the only known still breeding son of his at 25 years young. He was fantastic reiner and teacher to me. Sweet to work around and most thought he was gelding with his temperment. Hope to get a couple more breeding years out of him yet ;)

I'd forgotten about him until Bob brought him up.
Boy, those were days long since last 😊.
AQHA and AQHA racing journals were pretty much what I grew up on. I've always admired Bob Avila. He's a solid businessman and horseman, and likely a good man overall.

Bobby Avila has always been a class act. Sure can't say the same for Clinton Anderson, he interrupts and his mouth is out of line!

I cuss and even I find him a bit much. And yes, he interrupts too much. I get that he has done his time learning and investing into himself, but it feels like he's more into hearing his own voice.

I think he does. I suspect he's of the mindset of take it or leave it, I am who I am.
It's a bit much, and I don't get hung up on people cussing, but gee whiz, he's heavy.
I'm more about hearing the the stories of the people he's interviewing, but don't like how much he interrupts. That doesn't make for a good interview.
