I’m a guy, but your videos are still helpful and interesting. I’ve been listening to dozens of airmen talk about their experiences to get a picture of what things will be like, what’s changed, and what to bring. Thanks for the heads up.
Hey! Glad to see you back! With the basic training series can you do the stationary movements video I mentioned in a previous video as well? I think it would go really well with your current series!!
I’m 32 year old from Asia. I really want to join the USAF but I have to study everything again to pass the test. I was about to give up because I forget all my math lol. Wish me luck!
I started studying even I’m little older than you but maybe I can be shipped next year. She keeps making good vids and you will get help not being stopped with hassle.
we didn't have bottles, mikayla, we had canteens, back in the late seventies. most of the stuff we needed was at the mini-BX you mentioned, and I always looked forward to going there!
Hi Mikayla! I am currently in the Air Force. Public affairs really intrigues me. I was a theatre technician and did a lot of similar jobs to what it seems like public affairs does. I’m a 1C8 and I have some questions you may be able to help me with. I’ve considered cross training if possible. But I’m also curious if you’ve used your CCAF degree out of the military. I’m curious if maybe I should just pursue mass communication? Idk. If you’re willing to talk to me more about this let me know!
the main thing holding me back from enlisting is my dog. i know he obviously cant be at BMT with me, but what about after when i go to tech school? im with him 24/7 right now, he comes to work with me every day, so it will be VERY hard to be without him
That’s gonna be a hard decision, I honestly know how u feel. I went from taking my dog on walks everyday to only seeing him in person twice a year ): I got pictures of him in my room, makes the saddens goes away
Question: When going to the BX do we take cash or a credit card or is it deducted from your pay? How much money should we take to Basic training or do we need any? Thank you!
Do you think you can talk about how air force medals work, how to get them, and the things that people put on the medals and ribbons. Seems like no one ever makes videos about it.
You don't "apply" for medals or ribbons. You earn them - some for outstanding duty performance and some for accomplishing certain actions or deployments. Not sure what you mean by "things that people put on the medals."
I see marks on both sides of the bridge of your nose. As a former optician when I see those marks it's usually caused by the nose pads of glasses. I know a couple years ago you did a video wearing a pair of blue light blocking glasses. So those marks could be from your blue light glasses or you may have gotten prescription glasses since then. People, even time glasses wearers, will often take their glasses when filming due to reflections from a ring light. So is that what you have done?
sorry if im talkin too much but how long is it until you can go to the BX and also do you know if it is easy to get blisters with a big shoe size as well
You get to go to the BX within the first few days of getting to BMT to get some essentials. Also, new boots are known to cause blisters even with bigger shoe sizes.
Off topic, I’m bisexual and I’ve primarily been with women. Would it be wise to release that kind of info in tech school? Not so much BMT because we won’t have time for that, but in tech school I’d like to release some stress with my fellow Airmen.
Do you know how long it usually takes to hear back after submiting the public affairs audition? My recruiter sent mine 3 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything.
Perfect timing! Shipping soon!
Me tooo!
Wash your reusable bottles with some soap and baking soda. Baking soda will take out the smell/taste and get it cleaner.

a video regarding the usage of tuition assistance and the post 9/11 GI bill would be very helpful!
i am so glad to see you back please post more often it is so helpful!

You won't be able to have a pet at BMT or tech school - nor in barracks/dorms anywhere.
Question: When going to the BX do we take cash or a credit card or is it deducted from your pay? How much money should we take to Basic training or do we need any? Thank you!
Either is fine, it’s honestly your preference
Thanks so much
Why did you decide to not re-enlist? Sorry if you previously mentioned it in a video.

Can you also bring napkins for period?
How does leave and communications work the first few months/years of service as far as staying in contact with and visiting family and friends?
How many calls to family are allowed during the bootcamp? And another question, how many minutes does the shower last during the week?

I only wear glasses for the computer but those aren’t marks from glasses, they’re freckles :) the resolution on this video isn’t very crispy.

Do you have any advice about how to prep for life when you’re done with the AF, like housing, financeing afterword ect.
Afterward^
If it’s anything like the army, your leadership will help u with that, that’s if u have good leadership 🤷♂️
Are we allowed to bring earplugs and a sleeping mask?
About to head in for Tactical Maintenance!

I would follow up because 3 weeks seems like a long time to hear nothing but then again, the government works very slow lol.
Hey I have a question, I have dreads and they’re too long to keep down but too short to put into a pony tail. Would I have to cut them?
2024 are you still in the military?
No , I separated last month after six years. Officially a veteran now.
Is it 7 and a half weeks, or 8 and a half weeks for basics??
7 1/2 weeks
