  • The Bowtech Core series compound bows give you the choice to run their mods on comfort vs performance but which is better and at what draw weight? This or That? Today we are testing the Bowtechs at 60 lbs on comfort vs 70 lbs on performance to see what the differences are speed wise!

I like the approach to the test.
I would like to see the same test to just compare the flip disk on Comfort, with the 3 different arrows, and draw weight at 60lbs. Flip the disk to Performance and repeat the 3 shots.
Then bump the draw weight to 70lbs, shoot the 3 arrows on Comfort and Performance.

Wish they made them in 75 or 80 lb limbs. I’d rather pull more weight on comfort than deal with the big hump on performance.

Cool test. I’d be curious where the break even point (speed) is between shooting comfort vs performance for a given arrow weight on whatever limb you choose to shoot.

What's also interesting is I'm getting 172-174 fps on a 505 grain arrow on my 70lbs Core SS, but at full draw, so 31.5 inches... Surprised that the extra couple of inches makes such a speed difference vs the video... BTW that's what I get on comfort of course.... Perf is around +9 fps extra....

Great test. I've always been curious if I could step up to 70Lb on an easier drawing cam. I was hoping you could let us know your findings RE the draw cycle though - is the stout 60Lb's comparable to the smooth 70Lb, or is the 70Lb still a significantly harder draw despite the smoother mod? thx

How about a comparison between the core ss on performance vs core sr on comfort.

I will take mine at 60 pounds and on comfort setting, with a 380-400 grain arrow, at my 30" draw length. Granted, it feels way too easy to draw.

Correct me if I misunderstood, but you said 60.9 lbs. draw weight on performance versus 70.4 lbs on comfort. Thats only 1/2 lbs. difference but close to 20 fps increase with the 70 lbs. draw weight. Thats pretty stout. Is it BowTech or PSE that has the only USA made carbon frame? I was told all other manufacturers import their carbon frames. Great video!

That math ain't mathing. It's 9.5 lbs difference.

PSE is the only Carbon bow made in the USA. Also, work on your math my man.
