    There's a major bug with the receptionist's desk. You need to add a computer to the desk-Without it, the receptionist won't sit down at it. Super easy fix, just add any computer you like to the receptionist's desk. There's also a bug with the surgery room bed; pregnant sims can't use it. I fixed this easily too, just by deleting the light next to it. Hopefully this helps.

    Since the gallery build wasn't play tested, here's what you need to make it all function. If you just want to have babies here
    • Move the light over the birth table to not be over it
    • Add any computer to the reception desk
    For working here, you'll need to do the above and also
    • Move the side tables/IV bags to the right side of the patient exam tables (when looking at the foot of them) The left side has to be free space
    • Move the lights in the X-Ray room to not be over the X-Ray machines
    • Delete the file folder from the desk in the analysis room, you can't use that computer otherwise

    The most satisfying build I've ever done in my game is a specialized hospital for people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Doctors never know what to do with us and medical care is often lacking, so it was a nice little fantasy build to create a small hospital with comfy beds for joint support, zebra print decor for the zebra awareness ribbon, ample handicap parking with access aisles, elevators for accessibility (although nonfunctional), activities to entertain patients to help keep minds off the chronic pain, radiology lab, testing lab, indoor grassy garden on every floor for quick access to a service dog potty area, service dog training area outdoors, places for patients' guests and family to sleep in the building, swimming pool for aquatherapy and recreation that is gentle on the joints, a spacious PT gym with room for mobility aids between machines, accessible bathrooms with a CC roll in shower, etc. Things I wish the game had that could have been included: an infusion room, a feeds room, ramps instead of stairs, functional elevators, inclusive disability items and interactions (walkers, forearm crutches, wheelchairs, scooters, hearing aids, ASL, feeding tubes, ports, guide dogs, service dogs, canes, calming quiet rooms).

    • @YouKnowImOnMyPeriodYah
      @YouKnowImOnMyPeriodYah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ehlers-Danlos is elastic skin and join flexibility to the point of dislocation right? I’m probably getting this wrong

    • @thecomorbiditycurator8018
      @thecomorbiditycurator8018 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@YouKnowImOnMyPeriodYah Kind of, yeah. EDS is far more than just a joint problem. It's a genetic disorder with 13 subtypes that causes the body to produce faulty collagen, which makes skin hyperelastic and soft and easily torn, joints to be hypermobile and easily dislocate, and some other various symptoms like easy bruising, easy bleeding, elastic blood vessel walls, organ prolapse, organ fragility, translucent skin, etc. Anywhere there is collagen in the body (everywhere), there can be symptoms of EDS. EDS has a lot of highly comorbid conditions: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Dysautonomia, Gastroparesis, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome/Disorser, Mastocytosis, Craniocervical Instability, Atlantoaxial Instability, Tethered Cord Syndrome, and Chiari I Malformation. They're referred to collectively as "the cluster" among the patient community.
      The joints have an expanded range of motion from hypermobility, meaning that the flexibility is not the type of flexibility that an athlete can develop with muscular conditioning, but is instead flexibility from the joints stretching beyond what is the normal limit due to hyperelastic connective tissue. And because those tissues are too stretchy and loose, joints can dislocate, often by doing very little. I dislocate my fingers opening screw top bottles all the time. I dislocate my hips frequently when I drive over speed bumps or pot holes. If I hang my arms down by my sides, like a normal person, my elbows and shoulders slowly pull out of place with gravity alone. To prevent it, I stand with my hands propped up on my hips so none of my arm joints are position perpendicular with the floor. You said "to the point of dislocation." I'm sure that we are saying the same thing, but I wanted to elaborate a bit to make it clear that someone with EDS doesn't have to bend a joint to a certain physical point before it can dislocate. Our joints can dislocate in normal positions with the slightest force, depending on the connective tissues around it. Some joints are more resilient, it varies from patient to patient.
      P.S. A common misconception by medical professionals is that the chronic pain part of EDS is strictly related to when we are injured or when we dislocate something. That is false. The pain is constantly present at some degree.

Maybe have doctors do shifts that last multiple in game days. I never gave these ideas much thought before but with pack refreshes, my mind is spinning with possibilities! 😁❤️

    As someone who works in hospitals, I have to say the amount of stuff Kayla said was unrealistic but actually is realistic is pretty funny 😂 hospitals often have playrooms IN the waiting room for kids to play while they wait. There’s also almost always a gym for rehab and PT. Most definitely a room (usually a 4x4 tiny *ss room) with beds for drs to sleep between long shifts etc. Ofc the sims don’t necessarily have a realistic gameplay but it would still be fun to have those to make it a “real” hospital

    Hello, RN here! Actually a lot of my employer’s new clinics and hospitals have a gym and shower section for employees to use 🤷‍♀️ so the gym is actually realistic.

    The most unrealistic thing is that the hospital has stairs up to the door. Every hospital forces discharged patients to be wheeled out the door in a wheelchair for liability reasons or something.

    I love this re-work, it's absolutely lovely. I did try to find it in-game, but was unable to locate it - perhaps because this is over a year old already? While sad, I am happy to have at least seen your build here. Thank you for sharing it! :)

    I recently found out about your channel. Literally like two days ago and this is the perfect timing.I’ve been questioning if I want to buy get to work from all the negativity I heard about this EP, but I think I am gonna get it with discover university. This looks so fun and MUCH more pleasing and well thought of than the original hospital

    Hi hi! I thought of something I’d like to share with everyone in case someone didn’t know. When going through debug, if there is a specific item from a specific pack that you are looking for, if you only select the specific pack on the filter and then type debug in the search, it will only show the debug items from that specific pack below all the purchasable items! Example; if I wanted to use coral and oceanic debug, I’d filter Island Living and then go to my search bar typing Debug and clicking on debug that pops up. It saves a lot of time! Sorry if this was a poor way of explaining.
    It’s much easier showing than typing lol

    I love watching your speed builds. I always end up editing the hospital too. I usually take that room at the end close to the break room, and make it just big enough to fit an exam table, the analyzer, a desk, the xray, and treadmill... then I put one of the surgery tables in the next room and fix it up. That way, I take care of each patient, and the next one can walk over in the amount of time it takes me to treat the current patient, make the bed, and repeat the process. Congratulations on raising so much money for charity, that is awesome!

    5:30 i feel like if you wanted to add like a “kids” area, make it a pediatric ward. i know some hospitals have wards for kids and teens, sometimes even for adults. and instead of the bland walls there’s fun colors and like you said a play area!! so if we wanted a massive hospital but also logical a pediatric ward would probably make the most sense aswell as blending into the theme of hospital.

    I was in hospital few days ago when my dad proke his hand. Realistic hospitals don't make sense at all. Go the the doctor on the 1st floor, go for the x ray on the 5th floor, go back with picture do doctor on the 1 floor, go get the plaster on the 4th floor, go get another x ray on 5 floor, go back to doctor from the beggining. It was like RPG quest

I hope someday I will be able to build my own house and hospital in the sims 4 but unfortunately I cannot afford a pc or a laptop that's why I always watch Kayla's vid so that when the right time comes, All of the ideas and knowledges that I've learned in her video will be now put in the world of sims 4. *fingers crossed for a pc and a laptop 😭

    I work in a hospital and there is gyms both for the patients (physiotherapy) and for the staff to use when they're not working. The only thing I would've done different was add a computer for the staff to use in or just outside every patient room. There is computers everywhere IRL

    Simsie! You should have put offices in that big open space. More computers and possibly some more chemical analyzers. That way we could lock the doors to have it be a personal office for our own usage, but also, it's on brand for a hospital.

    i feel like the only thing that makes this lot type/the career feel like a full-on hospital are the birthing stations--otherwise it just feels like a medical center (you know, the actual name of the lot type) or an urgent care clinic. this reno, though, actually looks like a small-scale hospital, especially with the addition of the cafeteria and more machines.
