My mom's a teacher, and she's become so afraid of her students that she records all her sessions in case one of them tries to incriminate her for aomething she didn't do. I mean leaving a kid home by themselves shouldn't really be norm. Other than stranger danger, what if there was an emergency or incident in the house that needed an adult intervention? Sometimes as kids, we felt safe n confident in ourselves cuz our parents made that possible by shielding us from the danger we even couldn't comprehend n I bet we didn't even notice the danger around us half the time but our parents made sure it was taken care n we would never know.
For example, I can remember a few creepy occurrences I wasn't aware of as a kid till my mum told me as an adult that left me shook. Granted I don't know ur parents n whether they were protective or just paranoid but it's worth seeing things from their perspective now as an adult to tell whether their actions were warranted or not most(or all) of the time

@@syrusangi8743 A child can't grow if you never let them live. I know too many people who are completely incompetent and can't find their way around a tree stump because they were so coddled all their lives and were never _allowed_ to experience hardship. It's a part of life: living, struggling, and learning from it. The only thing kids are taught by a sheltering way of parenting is an unrelenting fear of life. These kids, now adults, can't even apply for jobs they're so scared of reality. So many children's lives are ruined by this exact debilitating parenting. It's done with good intentions but it's historically had the worst results. Sometimes bad things happen, you have absolutely no way of guaranteeing life will never go wrong and your kid will never fall and scrape their leg, let alone something way worse. Bad things happen to coddled kids too, the only difference is they don't know how to even handle it, versus kids who have been left to their own devices to develop and know how to work their way out of bad situations on their own, without any parental intervention. What if the coddled kid's parents aren't around when something does go wrong? They'll sit like ducks, waiting for their mom to come and pick them up and tell them what to do, and they'll die, because that's what they've been trained them to do. Don't ever do that to your kids if you happen to reproduce, you're setting them up for the worst failure and a horrible life that they won't be able to recover from.

"There's a man in the woods."
    What a spectacle.
Before the stories started, this school was still respectable.
My students used to skip down the hill to the honeysuckle.
    Pluck a couple,
And collect their nectar till they had their fill.
    Except one obnoxious kid, Sid.
Who just watched them eat the flowers
    As he seethed and scowled
As he couldn't bear to share his sweet treats during our recess hour.
    I remember Sid saying:
"There's a man in the woods!"
    That's how the rumors began.
Of course, Sid had spotted him first.
The poor kids. He got ‘em immersed in his Spiel
About a serial killer whose gun barrel glint hints at peril.
Of it to the nurse, or worse, a hearse.
    Waiting just beyond the dale.
    The children saw him everywhere.
    "Look! Over there!"
"That man had Batman ears! We swear!"
    "And, and crazy yellow eyes!"
"We saw something rusty! His shotgun? It must be!"
    "I saw a lady’s severed thigh!"
    Trust me,
Every word I heard was absurd.
Yet each day, Sid went straight down
    past the playground.
Who else was brave enough to save us from the killer’s next plot?
The rest of the lot would stop back at the black top,
Sure that any closer they were bound to be found
Deep in the woods, left to rot.
I pleaded for the kids to think,
    And learn to be mature,
But after failed attempts to prove
    That the school was secure:
    Their fear was undeterred.
And when the buses drove'em all home,
    The parents finally heard.
    Everything just blew up.
    I received a wall
    Of emails and calls
Full of shrieks, wails, and all,
    From terrified families
Who’d heard word of the murderer,
And didn’t like my lack of action at all.
What was I supposed to do? Comb the whole forest?
    Yeah, right! Would you?
That means I didn’t care? That’s not fair!
The stories that worried you weren’t true.
Of course I would feel regret,
Had there been a real threat
    And I ignored it,
And some poor kid got kidnapped
    While the kids were napping.
But you couldn’t admit that your
    Good little kid
    Would formulate a fib
So you ignored what I said.
Your little angel could never cook up such incredible creations?
"An overactive imagination, maybe, but my kid could never lie!"
    How dare I!
Accuse a child of being dishonest?
    Just monstrous!
    The parents were displeased,
And when the PTA took action,
they dismissed me from the classroom.
Like they knew what was best for their kids!
Do you know how difficult it is to get a job
    When a bitter mom
    Slanders your rep
    With child neglect
    From the outset?
Oh oh! Now who’s in control of your classes?!
    Single file lines!
    Single file lines.
    Leaded by a swine,
    A killer by the pines,
    Really? Are you blind?
    Will you find your spines?
    Sid. A child decides
To fill our minds with lies
    And the next I see
    Is people treating me
    like I'm committing crimes.
    I WAS IN MY PRIME!
Those kids were lucky to have me.
Do you see what you did?!
    But I can play along.
    I can be good.
    Do you hear that, Sid?
There’s a man in the woods.

I always liked the original actor, but he didn't sound like the man in the story. He has a great voice, but it belongs somewhere else. This is a lot better and I'm impressed that someone went out of their way to do this. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought of it. Great job!

I remember watching this a couple years ago and it feels so much more real nowadays. Reminds me of The Menu in a lot of ways. An artist good at their craft slowly turns into a monster because people who have never done the same work think they can judge. They turn something beautiful into trash and kill the love it was made with. This man, a teacher. Caring and kind, loved his job, did what he could. Had it ruined because no one wanted to admit that maybe the kids were lying. Now there's a man in the woods..
Anyone can be a monster if you push them far enough.
