R* hasn't the brains or the creativity to implement any of your suggestions but MY GOD, these are some of the most well thought out ideas/suggestions anyone has ever come up with for this game 👏👏 I would love to play Your RDO 😭😭
Funny thing: last night, a bunch of random people and I found some wagons in the Heartlands. So like the sensible people we are, we took the wagons to Saint Denis. We send three people to get three boat: a scout boat, and two of the bigger boats. We all loaded up, and took the goods to Blackwater. Unfortunately, there was an active shootout, so we diverted to Quacker’s Cove, and unloaded. We had a lot of fun “transporting” goods! I’d suggest it if you haven’t tried
Yeah it would be awesome. You could upgrade your coach to make it more comfortable for people. Add upgrade options to provide whiskey for passengers or cigars, more aesthetically pleasing interior, seats that raise player cores while they sit in them, 2 to 4 horse carriages for higher speeds, etc. There's a lot of potential for them to add player interaction.
I am a Old West re-enactor in my North mountain territory in Arizona. Back in California, I worked for Wells & Fargo’s stagecoach with coach opening up their banks in 1996. To this day I love their coaches. Your video is great very much enjoyed it, especially with outfits.
@@ManvsHistory thanks kind of you. I really enjoyed this video, fact I love stagecoaches. There is great movie out there about Pearl Hart female stagecoach robber movie “The women who robbed stagecoach.” Real life in Arizona. I am in it at beginning train station movie by Travis Mills on Prime?
i kinda feel like this should be in the base game as a legitimate role, like you could transport players or wealthy NPCs and say a criminal organization or posse could track you down and either kidnap the players or NPCs being transported, but the combat would have to be slow-paced if you get me, no lock on, increased recoil on weapons, etc. or you could hire other players to help defend you as a guard, maybe make it a role with ranks like the trader and say when you get max rank you could hire up to 5 guards on horses following your stagecoach and there would be a bandit role or something like that and if you go to attack a stagecoach you would get bandit xp and lose honor, maybe a certain NPC like Anthony Foreman (i forgot his name the guy that tries to kill Tilly Jackson in story mode) or Black Belle, but if you were transporting people, post, etc. you would gain honor and maybe add a fame thing. Honor would be for overall reputation, but say adding a fame mechanic would make you more popular in certain towns than others, and if your ' fame ' gets to a high enough level in a town you would unlock some cosmetics, like boots, a coat, a hat, a new grip, etc. i feel this would add a lot of immersion and just over all a different play style, but we can all hope that rockstar starts to add more thing to red dead online as it would be one of the best games ever made. Amazing work man vs. history, i enjoyed this video as every other video you do on red dead. :) watching your videos always gets me in the right mood to play red dead #savereddeadonline

I think that detailed sort of role would tempt me to play RDO more than just the occasional login and ride around. Unfortunately I think Rockstar would just have it be a transport mission which alerts everyone in the game session that there's a stage to be robbed....or in other words half arsed. Oh and almost forgot, another enjoyable video. Thanks.
Nice now I can dress my RP character Shooter McGavin accurately lol... Shooter owns a fleet of stagecoaches... and his business is called Shooter McGavins Traveler's Express ......thanks for the upload MvH
I know it's been some time, but your suggestions for what should be added for RDO exist! There's a mod for RDR2 on PC called AMJM Transport that incorporates these elements(Taking on stagecoach/cargo jobs with either a company-supplied or privately owned wagon/coach, buying your own coach/wagon), rescuing cargo and wagons from bandit hideouts, random bandit attacks(albeit not historically accurate) along the road, and there's a system where you can hire "hired guns" and equip them with whatever weapons you like, and have them either take the reins and drive automatically to the destinations or act as shotgun messengers. This video has helped me transform my frankly thuggish-looking Arthur into a refined coachman with a bit of a cough. ;)
Some ideas that I’ve thought about for historically accurate RDO character videos: Klondike Gold Rush, French Canadian Voyageurs, and for Guarma, the Spanish American War. The Voyageurs might be hard to do because it’s hard to find a good looking capote coat in the wardrobe, but the other two took place IN the 1890s, so I’d love to see what you whip up. Cheers!
Wow!!! I would love this role!! And amazing job collecting all that footage. Always impressed by the editing and amount of hours gone into these. Thanks, @Man vs. History
Back when my Xbox was working, I actually did a historical accurate Wells Fargo agent outfit! Nice to see these folks of old getting the attention they deserved
Those were some solid suggestions! I really enjoyed the entire video, but naively hadn’t anticipated you providing such a well researched set of scenarios and business schemes for the game. Well done, Man vs History!
Funny thing about that logo. The shotgun messenger used to have a shotgun, and the driver used to have a whip, but Wells Fargo quietly removed these components 10 years ago out of political correctness. If anyone would have bothered to look into though, they'd have found that the whip was never used to inflict pain on the stage team. Instead, the driver controlled his trained horses by the whip's sound. Iowan, huh?!? Which part?

One reward for the role could be the ability to store weapons and outfits on wagons, like you can on your saddle. They could expand the role further by letting you be an upstanding Express Messenger (like trader) or dip into the dark side and run a smuggling operation (like moonshiners)
I love this channel I've used your different videos to help my friends better understand some of the things they use or interact with in the game. And to help myself look cooler I used a mix of your vaquero and outlaw videos to create a Mexican bandito and have my posse named Los Deplorabes (deplor-ah-bles) on ps4
I think one of the things R* nailed in the story mode was the atmosphere of unpredictability due to all the free roam random interactions. They could replicate this well in rdo by making a lot more of the missions pvp rather than against predictable red dot npcs that do the same thing every time. By increasing lobby player counts, notifying players in the same state that the mission is available to interfere with and increasing the motivation to do so, missions would be a lot more tense and entertaining.
You really need to get into RedM RP! Your suggestions are what they’re trying to make a reality, heck they’ve actually made stage coaches fleshed out jobs. And not to mention you can basically replace your horse with your coach with it staying anywhere you leave it in the world, it having it’s own inventory, customisation, durability, even a name.
*sigh* I am just wrapping up "Fur, Fortune, and Empire" and you add 3-4 more books to my stack. It's a good problem to have. Thanks Doc! Side note: The latter mentioned book has added about 3 more pages of notes to my class on early America and the Pilgrims. They were not happy.
Stagecoaches have interested me a lot along side trains during the 1800s. What’s accurate and what isn’t. Heck, if I remember correctly the joke “riding shotgun” comes from the stagecoach business for one of the drivers to carry a shotgun(or coach gun) while the other handles the reins. And speaking further on stagecoaches I enjoyed the Duke film, Stagecoach. Especially the talented stuntman in the chase scene.
Yay now every soul in my rp server will be driving a stagecoach and giving a history lesson on them. Great video though I can never get enough of these!
In the UK passengers riding on the top of the coach would sometimes fall asleep bringing with it the danger of falling off the coach. This would be referred as dropping off to sleep. a term still in use today. If possible the passenger would try their hardest not to do this for two reasons. The poor unfortunate may suffer injury when they fell off the coach, usually head first, and the coach would not stop to pick up the passenger as they had a schedule to keep.
Good God that story of Mister Greeley had me laughing so hard. Additionally, the narration speaking of fatal accidents from malfunctioning equipment, while your coach goes flying off a cliff and bursts into flames got a very loud guffaw out of me.
What i would like to see is a Video to create a historically Accurate Doctor in Red Dead Online. Its one of the few important occupations still missing from this Playlist
That story with the woman and the baby was quite touching. Those guys seems like cold heart mercenaries ready to kill anyone as daily work. Yet he is still horrified realising he almost shoot an innocent by accident.
Another great video! It's funny how terms from history endure. Like riding shotgun. Maritime slang especially! For the record, I was not 3 sheets to the wind while typing this.
I have felt that this role should be in the game for a long time. R* could incorporate some existing features and missions. For example, have bandits steal a stage or team from a stage stop, meaning that the player would have to do a wagon recovery or wipe out a hideout. Players could also establish routes one at a time, by both driving the stage and riding shotgun on each leg - (e.g. Van Horn to Emerald Station). Finishing a leg would give you free fast transport for that leg. For longer legs - e.g. Blackwater to Armadillo - the player would need to establish a stage stop. This could mean doing 5 Bonnie missions to get her approval, and occasional missions to keep it. We could get another set of such missions at the ranch near Cholla Springs, and so forth. Call it a freighter role, and start with light wagons, upgrading through the trader wagons to coaches. Players could also get improved horses, and 6 or 8 horse teams for faster speeds. Plus cosmetics like coach liveries, matching teams, etc.
There's much less clothes to choose from in story mode, but any chance you might have a look and see if you can put together some historically accurate outfits for various situations for Arthur?
It’s a good day when Man vs History uploads

Yay now every soul in my rp server will be driving a stagecoach and giving a history lesson on them. Great video though I can never get enough of these!
Sounds like an awesome server to me.
A surprise surely, but a welcome one! Love the work!
Awesome to see a new video!
Great video, already excited for the next one!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing that, Blue!
Awesome role idea, only problem is that everyone would just open fire instantly like you do in the story mode
I used to work for Loomis and I loved the fact that I was the 2010 equivalent of a 1900s express man.
That was an amazing video! Keep up the great work
Love your channel, You should do one on how to make a historically accurate fisherman as a lot of us love fishing
That story with the woman and the baby was quite touching.
Those guys seems like cold heart mercenaries ready to kill anyone as daily work. Yet he is still horrified realising he almost shoot an innocent by accident.
Keep up the great uploads! Amazing work!
Have you ever considered doing a video on story mode outfits? It'd be fun to get your input on what Arthur and John are/should be wearing.
"How to create a historically accurate game that doesn't get updates anymore"
Yes! Been waiting in anticipation 👍🏽👍🏽
R* oughta hire you to be in charge of everything Red Dead, that would honestly solve everything
I accept.
Another great video!
It's funny how terms from history endure. Like riding shotgun.
Maritime slang especially!
For the record, I was not 3 sheets to the wind while typing this.
Historically accurate train conductor/driver
