Just had my first taste of smith & cross in a daiquiri and man was it good! Not sure if my batch is different than others but the deep banana flavor comes through and makes a fantastic sipping cocktail. Would love to try with a bit of falernum and banane du brasil next!
I did not find any apricot liquor so I bought some chambord used that and lime instead of lemon. Bit the result is fantastic. Oh and I used pussers 15 year and Appleton Estate for rums. Cheers!!🎉
I just made 2 little 1/2 tradewinds. I can't seem to get pusser's gunpowder near me, but I can get the regular old pusser's. -1st tradewinds: Pusser's + Probitas(don't have access to your blend, but Probitas is around $30 in Tx) + a small float of OFTD -2nd: Hamilton 86 + Probitas + small float of OFTD I prefer the pusser's variant, the hamilton's burnt caramel is a bit too loud, it overshadows the apricot a tiny bit. Pusser's(even non gunpowder) really does work well here. I'll try some more combos after the holidays. Cheers!
I definitely want to try that cocktail. A tip I heard for non-alcohol mixers... I add an once of rum or vodka and keep them in the refrigerator. I don't make Tiki drinks that often but I've had Giffards Orgeat and Coco Lopez last for months with no noticeable degradation.
Just made this with plantation oftd and plantation 3 star and Odk coconut as that’s what I had, got the giffard…. It’s brilliant 🎉 I do know what you mean about the posh Monin, I’ve got banana, pineapple and cherry, there fantastic….well done old boy😎
Yeah. Sad Times. But i'll be honest, haven't been for years cos it's waaaay off the main strip for people visiting London. If it closed and became more central, that wouldn't be a bad thing.
My go-to is Wood's Old Navy and a light rum, like Brugal Blanco or Plantation 3 Star. I experiment more with different liqueurs, Falernum or Banana liqueur work great.
Using what I had at hand, my recipe differed only slightly 1 Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof 1 Plantation 3 Star 1 Gifford Abricot 1 Coco Lopez 1 Lemon Juice It was absolutely delicious and based on the rich creaminess, it occurred to me that this would be great blended... but it’s currently -21º C here in Chicago with ice fog coming off the lake and river 🥶so perhaps it will have to wait for more balmy weather.
Made your Trade Winds last night and the flavor was a huge hit but it was so rich guests watered them down which it why I think it would make a great frappe like a Piña Colada. Thanks for helping make a merry Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas.
As I’ve said on the 3 previous videos, there was an issue with the Camera durigg by filming. It’s now sorted so next videos are fine. This was the last one in the batch. The vast majority of people don’t notice as they watch at x1.5 to x2 speed. But if you do watch at normal speed, it’s pretty evident. Sorry…but it’s sorted from next weeks Vids. PS…the actual Voice to Video sync is fine. It’s just frame drops from the Video.

I just made my first Trade Winds based on this recipe but with the addition of a tad of freshly ground nutmeg on the top and DIY cream of coconut.
I used Hamilton 86 and Plantation 5. It was delicious. Combier apricot liqueur. Tastes like a lemon square or lemon meringue pie!😊 So good
for Jamaican rum I love Smith and cross has the big funky flavors that really come through in the fruity tiki drinks

Excited for you to use Plantation OD and OFTD in the Extras video!
Nice i have a similar recipe In terms of sweeteners and citrus. The rums I use are Plantation OFTD & Foursquare Probitas/Veritas

That Clairin Communal is awesome, only 10ml in a cocktail can make it so so funky!

many thanks, recently fallen in love with this cocktail 😁 I'd like to see the rum runner next
Coming soon! Love the Rum Runner too!

Trader Vic’s London is closing down, you should see if you could do a show there if it isn’t too far away.

I’d use Pusser’s with Ron Cubay Anejo
I USE MONIN in the restaurant where i work and it lasts an age
Had Giffard Apricot Du Roussilion in my MoM basket for ages. Need to check it out soon after watching this.
BUY IT
Done!!
Ango amaro is terrific.
Why don’t you put the ingredients in the description along with every thing else.
Cos you have to buy the ingredients in a shop 👍
@@StevetheBarmanUK I know that but it would nice to have them listed in the notes to make it easier to copy them.
Anyone else experiencing sound synch issues with this vid???
And video stutter

How about you hit us with A Navy Grog?
Yeah, kinda on the list. But when you get 3 Rums in a Cocktail, thats a bit tricky!
