Thank you Brittany! I have watched this several times and attempting to follow your steps! Thank you making these videos for people who are learning to use milk paint. This video helped me a lot!

It seems a lot of your tips come from an online class that you give away without acknowledgment - so so elegance IMHO from an old school persona

I finally got it to play once I enlarged my screen. Love this technique. Would it work on a previously stained piece as long as you remove the finish? Like an old nightstand?

sorry to say your text is invisible on this video, white text on a white background. Would have preferred to hear your voice rather that that music as well.

These are the best videos ever!!!
I am in love with how you do these finishes. I don’t know what kind of furniture to begin with!! I have a cute homemade (not by me) secretary. 20 bucks. Do I dare invest the time to do this finish? I was going to paint it grey, wash with white and GO sell and buy better furniture. What do you think?

Is the light on this video bad, or is just me? Everything is white and can’t see anything.

Hi Brittany, can I use normal gesso instead of t he Amy Howard cracked gesso? ( shippingcosts to europe are huge) thank you

    • @jamiecbs
      @jamiecbs ปีที่แล้ว

I’m having the exact same issue .. product is about £18 but with shipping it’s over £100 to the uk … I emailed Amy Howard and they replied saying they were looking into ways to reduce shipping . Easiest way would be to have a European or uk distributor ?!

@@jamiecbs hi,how frustrating , shippingcosts so high. Can,t wait to play with their antiquing glazes, one step paints, milkpaints , cracked gesso etc. I asked them but there aren,t
any in europe. Hm, would be great to be a distributer, (and have all those great products on hand 😁)i,m gonna play with that idea 👍
      Greetings,Lulu

Is the first coat the gesso one coat full coverage or is it the watered down gesso, 3 part gesso yo 2 part water, im confused? It says both on the video

the video is not seen! how can I do! pity I'm very interested in this type of finish!😢

I’m soooo confused I don’t see what anyone else saw in their complaints? I can clearly see every bit of the video and the white words aren’t against a pure white background so I can clearly read every word. This is strange to me that so many people said this because that’s not the case it’s very much clear lol idk

The "music" is awful. Had to turn off the sound and turn on Closed Caption.
NEVER use a powered tool to mix milk paint, it is the cause of the bubbles and chunks.. and the eventual waste of paint.
Start the process with a bit of water in the mixing bowl, slowly add the powdered paint stir ,then water.. ,Repeat until the paint is creamy.
Mix using a plastic spoon or wood paddle. do not use metal.
Let sit to "slake". Then mix again, likely needing to add some water. No waste, no crumbs, no bubbles.
The first coat of paint presumes some uncaring idiot slathered paint on a piece of furniture. Foils authenticity.
    Remove drawers, paint separately.
Sanding,, wear a mask. Same with steel wool.. And here this cheap short strand steel wool with leave microscopic dust and oil.
    "Desired" texture, meaning crude ?
A razor blade will not "burnish". It is scraping not burnishing.
"Provincial look" and "distressing".. Meaning very badly abused . ?
That was , potentially, a nice piece of furniture.
"Patina".. that is not "patina" an often misused word.
Gust AW vian , not Gust O vian.

You, ma’am, are what is wrong with the world. Hahaha I couldn’t help but laugh at every single word you typed! 😂 Awful punctuation and grammar and the pure ignorance is radiating from every sentence. I couldn’t help but feel sincere second hand embarrassment as I attempted to read it. Hopefully no one listens to anything you say as it’s clearly from living such a miserable life. This was a beautiful video full of instruction for anyone wanting to learn and I applaud the sweet woman for making such gorgeous pieces with every video published. You must be her competitor or a strange stalker is my guess. Have the day you deserve sweetie and bless your heart ❤

I read all of the criticism (laughing throughout) and went right to your page. Oddly enough you have zero videos on his topic. Why am I getting the strong inclination you're one of those folks that thinks they've seen enough to have mastered techniques without ever actually having done them yourself??? I assume based on the awful typing and use of grammar throughout your embarrassing comment, you're an older fellow who should've taken more time to learn how to behave in a public forum rather than criticizing others.
