    Sharpen the knives on plunger and knives on the chamber. They usually come out of the baler and sharpen them on a bench with grinder. it takes time and PITA but really worth it the baler will run quiet

    I would guess your going too slow for those windrows! That’s a nice baler let’s go!

    I have the same accumulater just the older orange one and you can adjust the the trip level for the bale arm to make it run faster unless your hyd service is turned down. If you watch the videos that hoelscher did years ago on a jd tractor that arm throws the 2 bales up real quick and mine use to go slow like yours and sometimes slower and it was almost too slow in that it got into the next bale sometimes before I got it adjusted and I am running mine on an old farmall 706 gas. If you watch it trips and then moves a little and then almost stops and then moves the rest of the way up, that's from not enough flow. I also like the little piece that rides on the top of the 2 bales as they come up to the table, and there seems to be a little piece on the front of the arm also that I haven't seen before. As others have said you can speed up a little and run that baler at 540 pto. Also those windrows are not that big for that baler, maybe for your older one but not that baler.

      @@150honda248 From 0:30 to 1:30 in this video I counted 62 strokes in that one minute. A New Holland 575 runs 93 strokes per minute at 540 PTO rpm, so you were going nowhere near PTO speed. By the math, you were running right at 2/3 of it to be exact, 360 rpm. In terms of engine speed, a late 1066 hits PTO speed at 2,270 rpm, meaning you were running the engine at only about 1,510 rpm, literally closer to slow idle than rated speed of 2,600 rpm.
      In another comment you mentioned driving slow because you thought the windrows were heavy. You should run a baler at or much closer to PTO speed anyway, but especially if you thought the windrows were heavy, why would you run the PTO so much slower than it is designed to be run? At risk of stating the obvious, it will handle heavy windows much better at 540 than at 360.

    you gotta get those rpms UP! balers are designed to run at 540 rpm MINIMUM . that 575 is a great baler, and she's hungry! don't be afraid to kick it up a gear. and tell the kids to put the toys down and hop on a wagon and start stacking! then you don't have hours running around at the end of the day picking up bales

    Your PTO speed is far way too slow. You really should run the baler at recommended PTO speed because it much less stress for the whole baler, especially for the gear box.

    • @TonyM132
      @TonyM132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, if you count the strokes in this video, it made 62 strokes per minute. A 575 baler runs 93 strokes per minute at 540, so you can do the math and see this was running at only 360 PTO rpm. But from reading comments it sounds like they were just new to running PTO equipment, and everybody's gotta learn sometime. I'll bet they know better this year.

    • @vanstractors
      @vanstractors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the driver was aiming for 15 to 18 strokes per bale as optimal he is not new to pto equipment he is 60 years old been running equipment long before he could reach the pedals .Very thick windrows new to him baler and accumalater ,Trying it out for the first time absolutely no need to run it hard .New knives ,plunger adjusted pickup bearings new hay dogs .Now it,s ready to go !That day raked and baled ,loaded 400 and change 3.5 hours all with new to him baler, accumalater and grapple . BTW This 575 is replacing a 273 that has given incredible service .Slow was it,s only gear but it always baled and tied !!

    • @TonyM132
      @TonyM132 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vanstractors Given a consistent size windrow, number of strokes/flakes per bale is entirely a function of which gear the tractor is running, not engine/PTO speed. Think of an example where you were running only 270 PTO rpm, exactly half of rated speed. If you double engine speed to 540 PTO you'll have double the strokes per minute, but in the same gear also exactly double the ground speed, so double the hay flowing into the baler per minute, hence the same number of strokes per bale as you had running slower.
      I understand not wanting to push it and maybe overload the baler or accumulator, but in order to prevent that you have to choose a slower gear on the tractor, not slower engine speed. Running that 1066 in 1 Lo TA at rated PTO speed will have it moving only 1.4 mph, allowing the 575 to handle larger windows the easiest.
