Just a quick update on one of the ponds for this week's video. If you want to see an update on the DIY pond as well, let me know with a like! Otherwise I"m working on a lot of really cool projects right now that I can't wait to share. Anyway I hope all of you are doing well and are finding productive ways to keep busy. 💚
You can tell how much he loves his craft by the care he puts in cleaning his pond. I’ve never heard about anyone putting so much effort in and it’s so beautiful to see you work. Thanks Tanner!
It's lovely to see, and it will only get better as everything grows. We're fortunate enough to have running water on our place, and have enjoyed seeing all the wildlife that it contains and draws near through the years, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much enjoyment we get from my small patio pond with just a few goldfish.
That's a very nice pond. I need that next to my screened porch. When I was in college I managed a Pier One aquarium store in SW Louisiana. I sold feeder comet goldfish 10 for $1.00 and sometimes a rancher would come in a buy a bunch to throw in their concrete water troughs. The goldfish would eat the horse feed that the horses dropped into the trough, bugs and mosquito larvae and grow unattended. Sometimes in winter, the water trough would freeze over but the goldfish were unaffected. Eventually, the ranchers would bring in large comets to trade in for little ones. I put small goldfish in our pond but the snakes, egrets and herons kept eating them so I stopped.
Absolutely gorgeous. You've maintained it very well. And everything is growing well. Glad the fish made it through the season. I started watching your videos just this past week and I've watched so many of them. Even down to your first videos of you panting. You're such a fantastic artist.
🐸🐟🐡 I appreciate your care for the fish. cleaning of ponds is detailed. well done . this makes your interest most enjoyable. keep well every one .Keith Australia
Love how you’re pond has developed. Looks awesome. Nothing beats creating and looking after your own slice of nature in your front yard. Very inspiring and rewarding at the same time. Thanks for sharing
This is my third time watching this video. Time for an update please. For the record I like your back yard pond rebuild and how it looks. You gave me a good giggle on the over the winter fail. Keep up your awesome channel. Thanks
Great pond you have there, I really like the stones and old wood. I have a wildlife pond in England with newts, dragonflies and damselflies. Really nice to watch the birds bathe in the shallows and all the comings and goings all ponds have.
Yes, I'd love to see an update on your DIY pond, have been sharing them with a friend in Kentucky that's building her own pond. Your input has been very helpful. Thanks Tanner....🙂👍👍
The hardscaping is so well done, Tanner. I’m excited to see the plant growth. Also, love how you’re such animal person and care about their well-being. Wish more people were. My brother and his wife just purchased their first home. The previous owners had constructed a small koi pond, but it was really ugly and poorly designed-filter and rubber tub left visible, not naturalistic at all. Brother and SIL moved in on the agreed upon date only to find all the koi dead and the pond filthy. Previous owners had apparently been gone a couple weeks but never told them. They also unplugged the filter system. Really sad. Brother and SIL removed the pond yesterday and filled in the hole. RIP fishies
That looked absolutely freezing! I swear I got frostbites by just watching you dig around in the icy waters. Pretty sure I heard ice cubes clunking. ... brrrrrrr
You guys did a great job with the pond. Even with alot of the plants gone because of the winter it still looks so natural. Also the photo of the pond covered in snow was beautiful
Great update, nice to know it's been healthy all this time and the moss coverage is awesome already. It's finally starting to get warmer here in the UK so I'll get working on our pond. There are a ton of newts and quite a few frogs in their long time home (over 20 years!)
Thank you. THIS is how you take care of a pond. I saw another TH-camr with an Aquascape pond in his front yard and he ignores it (except to add too many fish to it) and it shows, it looks awful. That's a waste. I know you'd never disrespect your ponds that way. Please show the back pond soon too!
Love the look with the leaves and the algae too! But nice clean up-- and these videos are really fascinating for illuminating how similar ponds and aquariums are. It all just seems so familiar, but bigger. lol
Man this I gorgeous. Shouldn’t be surprised considering your skill with terrariums, it definitely translated to your pond! Look forward to seeing what’s your do next with it.
Get some seeds for wild flower good for butterflies and pollinators and sprinkle those around the pond, and get some bleeding heart plants and some columbine seeds as well. Maybe some bluebells and ferns. Next fall you can add in some spring bulbs like crocuses, grape hyacinths, snow drops, miniature irises. I could see you also adding in the backyard a bee hive or two for more biodiversity and honey!
The cuts going along with your sentences is such a good edit choice. I love watching a mix of your old videos and new videos just to see the different techniques you pick up and try out. This kind of edit reminds me so much of Baby Cakes which is also fucking awesome haha
Greetings, I liked your video on your ponds, both are great. I have one as well and I have some issues and find that when I try to fix one thing another develops. So i leave it alone and just keep cleaning the pond filter as often as possible or when ever needed. The thing that I did realize I needed a faux Egret, netting for leaves, I made it out of pvc with a slight bow and cover it with a netting. numbered the connection so it can be broken down and reassembled. Down worry about the freezing. Friends ask me if I taken my fish indoors, my answer is "Who takes the fish out of the Delaware River. Keep doing a great job.
You are awesome and your videos make me feel good and relax me its just mind blowing and very creative. You also inspire me to make terrarium stay blessed and happy always ❤❤❤❤
Great video Tanner. How about a diy tub style water garden, that would be doable for many people, to have on their deck or patio, when an outdoor pond isn't a realistic idea.
Sounds like you could make a relaxation video ( stream, waterfall sounds, nature sounds for about 10 hours and rain would be a plus) for stress relief, and meditation.
Luckily in my country we are able to enjoy such beautiful creations all the year round. No problem of ice and snow during winters here. I never need to worry about my lotus pond and fishes😊
I like this cause it shows how much work actually goes into it. Helps people know what they are getting into before they go off and build one. Also, quick question not regarding the pond. How do you know what materials are ok to put in an aquarium? Also, when is better to use super glue instead of silicon.
Thank Tanner - that was beautiful and I really appreciate the fact that you made those whole thing over these weeks! 💚 I wonder about your lawn though - do you have a flowering lawn with a high biodiversity? I really think those are the most beautiful - and they truly are gems of nature ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 looking forward to see more of your beautiful garden! 😍
Great vid, love how you explain every detail so well. You've inspried me to make my own pond. Please make a video on your wooden pond. That's the video that followed to make my pond.
Awesome pond, Serpa! I actually will discourage you from removing the alga-it insulates, oxygenates and cleanses. Fish do a good job pruning it. It's also essential for tadpoles-if you would like to attract those. Amphibians will not breed where there are fish though. Pretty much one or the other.
I need to see the DIY pond! Would be great for a compare and contrast of a ‘natural’ pond vs the DIY design in terms of cleaning and post-winter maintenance. Plus, I just love that pond. :D
Hey man I'm a new subscriber your DIY pond build video popped up on my homepage and I thought I would check it out I have now watched several of your videos and I find them to be very entertaining I am also in the fish keeping hobby. So I'm gonna watch another video and excited to see new ones thanks for the entertainment and for a little knowledge.
Tanner, Use medium size Barley bales/balls it helps keep the pond clean from algae and gives oxygen and can last up to six months. Just pull them out every now and then and squirt them off and clean algae off them. I use them for my pond.they do their job.
Nice work! We love all the new moss growth! It would be really cool to see the backyard pond, and how all your goldfish are doing! (Did you leave them in for the winter?)
Just as a tip: fill the bucket up with water the next time you do this, that way any small fish you missed will still be able to breath and can be picked out later. What wouldn't I give for this pond to not have any fish in it... local amphibians would *love* that pond! Even with our 2 left over goldfish in our pond I counted 14 newts while cleaning it out, maybe even a few more. Your pond would be perfect for breeding!

Definitely want to see an update on the DIY pond. Good stuff.
It has grown in great. It would be great to get seasonal updates. That moss!

Yes, I def. want to see what's up with the backyard DIY pond.... Was that one dug below the frost line as well?
Yes I like your ponds
You can tell how much he loves his craft by the care he puts in cleaning his pond. I’ve never heard about anyone putting so much effort in and it’s so beautiful to see you work. Thanks Tanner!
His passion shines through in everything he does!
You should get a nice compost bin for all the leaves and algae, then you can use it in your inside builds once it composts!
I do actually. 😉
What a beautiful pond. It brought me a lot of joy, just watching it on video!
Looking great!
Fine tuning your landscape is a never ending task which I consider to be a good thing! Love the update.

Cool story!

I can’t wait to see the plants grow in and become really lush and naturalistic!
Just Wanna say Thanks......I Built my first Terrarium the other day after finding your Channel.....Thanks for all the Inspiration and Awesomeness
I like how natural the front yard pond looks.
Beautiful pond.
Love how you’re pond has developed. Looks awesome. Nothing beats creating and looking after your own slice of nature in your front yard. Very inspiring and rewarding at the same time. Thanks for sharing
Those under water shots on your pond were great
This is my third time watching this video. Time for an update please. For the record I like your back yard pond rebuild and how it looks. You gave me a good giggle on the over the winter fail. Keep up your awesome channel. Thanks
His videos are so soothing. I watch them before I got to sleep.
He is just a sweetie bake-beanie.

You are the most chill person. I love it. So creative
That looked absolutely freezing! I swear I got frostbites by just watching you dig around in the icy waters. Pretty sure I heard ice cubes clunking. ... brrrrrrr
Welcome to pittsburg
It didn’t look to bad to me. I guess it’s because I’m Australian so I’m used to it being hot all the time.
lol
Glad to see the fish doing great!!
those winter pics ...
A+
Beautiful. Cant wait to see in few months. 😍👍

Great video as always Tanner! Outdoor pond is on my list. One day.
It’s beautiful and it definitely looks natural.
Love the look with the leaves and the algae too! But nice clean up-- and these videos are really fascinating for illuminating how similar ponds and aquariums are. It all just seems so familiar, but bigger. lol
I would love a pond cause I find them extremely relaxing. I think that it's the sound that makes a pond relaxing.
This is one of very few channels where I 'Like' the video before even watching it. Always quality content, thanks Tanner. Good job with the pond.

Beautiful pond and plants
Beautiful! You need to add a huge piece of driftwood to the landscape, would be cool

3:19 you left a fish in the net!!!
I just cut the video footage 😉 There ended up being about 5 of them.
Nice vid, you should add some freshwater sponges in there because they compete with algae for the extra nutrients and are basically nature’s filters
I like the natural feeling
Just as a tip: fill the bucket up with water the next time you do this, that way any small fish you missed will still be able to breath and can be picked out later. You can always get a heater I use one for 100 gallon tank it works great in my pond.
Gotta love the moss!
