    I would put in a waterfall or mini waterfall. To circulate the pound water, so it doesn't get dirty easily. Plus, it help the koi fish swim better.

    Great video! I didn't notice any in the video, but you need some hidey-holes for the fish to hide from the heron. A few long pipes stacked in a triangle would work, and just hide it under rocks. You could go cheap with corrugated plastic lanscaping pipe, PVC or upgrade to terra-cotta like they use in sewer drains. Digging the ponds at least a couple feet deeper wouldn't hurt! I know that may not be feasible, though.

    Green water ia accually really good for koi colour and can keep them fed for a long time. And those baby koi that born in the pool also eat algae until they can eat pellets.

    You might want to try using more tap water and luring lake water in there it might be a little cleaner that way

  • @yorickster2253

    I would get rid of the diveder in the middle.. so that your filter can filter the whole bodom of the pond. I read an reply that your filter isnt working that great. It can only filter de stuff from 1 side on the otherside the debris and muck will collect and polute your water... also think about an stronger pump an uv light

  • @StanTheObserver-lo8rx
    @StanTheObserver-lo8rx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The muck you used for the water lilies are leaching algae loving phosphates into the water..plus you have no other plants to compete with the algae. If your not into water gardening and want clear water..use the many algaecides they sell. If you want a water garden..time to start ordering plants for spring. Use some floaters to block light until other plants get going. Anacharis is a good plant to toss in. Hornwort even better. When the water starts to clear? Vallisneria planted in shallow tubs of gravel do great. If you get racoons? You need to fence the pond..they will rip up all your plants..and if not eat them,kill them.
