Little did we know how long it would be until the NL's next All Star win
It's amazing to think all these big stars are retired now, so many legends
Now these players sons are playing: Cam Biggio, Bo Bichette, Eric Young Jr, and Ivan's son Derek Rodriguez.
Blows my mind how many good players Montréal had... can we give this city their team back already?
They are doing better in Washington then they ever did in Montreal
I was there. This doesn't do justice how loud it got when Ozzie was introduced.
RogueGust Shoulda been loud when Gwynn was introduced. So overlooked and underrated. Playing for a small market team. RIP Gwynn!
Kelsey Grammar signing the national anthem??!!! Wow I was impressed. Nicely done.
Surprised me too
You both know he sang his theme song at the end of his show, right?
He can sing the entire score of the HMS Pinafore....or at least Sideshow Bob can whom he voiced.
My God Piazza was a freaking beast in the '90s. Wow...that homerun shot was incredible.
I'm assuming you are talking about the one at 38:06
Was Piazza a roider?
Tyler Nersinger no. Well if he did it was never proven bc he’s in the hof
Piazza swung the biggest bat that was allowed.
Should've kept Joe Carter out of this All-Star Game since it was in Philly lol.
Piazza's home in this game, along with Reggie Jackson's homer in the 1971 AS Game, are the two longest home runs in All Star Game history.
Thank you for uploading of classic MLB games.
Ahhhh 96, Phish was on fleek
The Last True All Star Game.
1997 Interleague play was introduced. pretty much robbing the All Star game’s mystique.
Sad but true.
... "mystique" and "all star game" should never go together.
@@Aforg209 in your opinion maybe. I think he had a great point.
You’re entitled to your opinion but I respectfully disagree. I love interleague play and since it was introduced there have still been plenty of terrific, instant classic all star games. Not to mention some all-time great World Series played. The great game of baseball stands on its own. Adding or taking away interleague play won’t change the mystique baseball has on its own, whether its playoff races, all star games, or the postseason. It’s technically just a fun exhibition game so I don’t know how much significant the “drop” in “mystique” may be especially compared to say if we were talking about the postseason and World Series.
I have to agree, not too mention, NL park( the great Vet) the pitcher's spot has to bat, no DH, even in the All-star game back then... now even Senior circuit uses the DH all the time.. stripping away more mystic!
Funny how they're over explaining the historic batting numbers with unease. It's like they knew what's up lol
Justin Hill you had to try not to notice lol
They even mentioned Brady Anderson is on pace to hit 58 HRs and he's never hit more than 30 lol
Wow, its the Vet
You betcha!
It was so great in those days before Rob Manfreak took over as Baseball Comissioner and introduced these stupid rules like seven inning doubleheaders and a runner at second base when starting a tenth inning. Plus the fact that you have five and six inning over paid pitchers. With that and whatever else comes makes for a fucked up national pass time.
Barry Bonds still hasn’t swelled to his final form.
Anyone else watching this after the Phillies announced the 2026 all star game will be played at citizens bank park?
Astros in the NL and Brewers in the AL.
As it should be.
LOL JOE CARTER!! Love it!
From the Toronto Blue Jays, outfielder Joe Carter.
Jose Alfonso Taboada oh Joe LOVED that moment. He was one of the most cheerful, good-natured guys in the game, he clearly thought this was hilarious.
haha Toronto would've cheered Mitch Williams
Randy Marsh behind the plate. Lol south park should of took a shot at this haha
Hey Sarah Mclachlan just breaking out - best Oh Canada ever. CHEERS to a fine KG performance!
1:26:00 Pedro Martinez from the Expos
1:58:54 Joe Carter Boos. Gotta love Philly fans.
Wow...totally forgot Roger Pavlik actually pitched in an all-star game...and Dante Bichette had the worst case of scrunch-face.
At the end of the '96 season half the Padres would have been on this team
16:00 'power talk' aka the 'roid era
Where was Griffey jr. and the big unit!??
What's the point of putting the final score in the title of the video? Way to completely spoil it for people who are watching all star games in order.
MLB upload the 2006 MLB all star game
+Nick Cornacchia Should be up somewhere.
3:05 and 1:58:50
Ricky Bo! I see the future, I see you on NBC Sports Philadelphia laying the smackdown on the Phillies every time they lose ... and every time they win. I suppose there's always room for improvement.
increible que andre s galarraga no estuviese en ese equipo
I was there. This was a fun time and a fun game.
Announcer: JOE CARTER
Phillies fans: BOOOOOOOOOOO
lol They pretty much have to boo
edgar
When Every player would represent their team by wearing their uniform.
Looking for the theme music NBC used here...anyone out there have it?
I swear they must have pulled some of the crowd noise from this game and used it in I think Triple Play 2000 video game.
Alex Rodriguez first all star game
Man I love all three of these announcers but they didn't seem to have a lot of chemistry lol
Seems like every one of these I watch there's Bary Larkin, Ivan Rodriguez, Unable to play due to injury Tony Gwynn, Ripken Jr,
I remember being there with my Dad and two friends. I was 15 and it was just surreal.
Ever notice that Roberto Alomar wore a different hat compared to Brady Anderson and Cal Ripken
Steve Trachsel aka “The Human Rain Delay”
The title should say and didn’t win again for 14 years!
For Phillies fans like me: 1:13:40.
Ricky Bo's a goat!
We didnt boo joe carter loud enough
59:16 lol
I was there.
