- On a rainy Wednesday night in Citizens Bank Park, the Mets (40-23) take on the Phillies (33-31) before a crowd of 38,811. El Duque Orlando Hernandez gets the start, before being pulled following a rain-delay in the bottom of the 4th. In an offensive barrage, the Mets slam 6 doubles, 2 triples and a solo homerun from David Wright as the Mets score in six of nine innings. Jose Reyes adds four hits of his own. The bullpen holds down the fort with 6 innings of 2-run baseball with efforts from Darren Oliver, Pedro Feliciano and Heath Bell.
Howard's awful baserunning: 40:22
Wright's homer: 41:59
Wasnt this the 10 game road trip that the Mets went 9-1? Dodgers, Arizona, Phillies. If it is, then many credit this road trip as the moment where the Mets took off in 2006 and became the best team in the NL in 2006. Reyes and Lo Duca made such an amazing 1-2 combo in 2006
Yes this is that road trip. After their 8 game winning streak on the trip they went from 3.5 up to 9.5 up and their lead was never less than that the rest of the season.
47:35 Reyes triple
Do you have the June 13th game?
I do…. but…. These old games are on DVDs that I made that are now 17 years old. 6-13 is one of the ones that is not transferring and is corrupted. I’ll keep trying.
@@metsclassics Thanks for all you do. Really hope the 6/13 one works sometime. Wright has an amazing double play in that one that is one of my favorite plays ever.
@@shelloshello19 thank you 🙏 The disc is still on my desk. Not giving up. I’ve tried a few different things and difference computers but no luck.
