- I'm sorry if there are any audio pops or issues in this video, it's stormy winds that are deciding to blow my house down.
New Horizons has a fair few features missing that were in previous Animal Crossing games, but what if those features could come back? In this video, I discuss my ideas on how that could happen!

It really really really needs more dialog for the villagers. Its frustrating that all the lazy villagers say the same thing every day. Worse they all reference the same thing. I hope they take a look at this and add more dialog

Also, I think Sable needs more dialogue. I love Sable, and I talk to her everyday, but sometimes I get a little bored talking to her bc she says stuff that she’s already said. Also, I’ve already gotten all the patterns from her that u can get so far (I think), so she doesn’t say “Oh! - insert name - I’m so glad u came today!” Anymore ;w;
I don't have acnh so I've been playing city folk and while she does repeat certain phrases she'll sometimes banter with Mable. Is that in acnh aswell?

Animals personality.
The villagers are nothing but "cute dolls" to show to ur friends in nh, they don't have a story, nor character like bfore. Is honestly so bland...
I know people are trying to defend this by saying that kids might have been offended by some of the dialogue, but they could've added a setting where you could choose whether you wanted to have softer or stronger dialogue.
@@emeraldeiscue ikr, they should add more dialogue for the villagers and add more personality types to the game. Cmon nintendo. Hurry up its been 8 months.
characters with the same personality types are all the same, too. they leave the same notes when they're sleeping, when they're not home, they say the same phrases (just change the catchphrase) have the same reaction to when you say you have a gift for them, etc. i honestly think it should be more like they're different people and not just clones with different appearances.
Yeah, even just increasing the number of personalities to twelve would help so much. I would also recommend giving each individual villager at least one unique trait, which could be anything from their favorite food or favorite color, to their biggest fear or a childhood experience, just as long as they’re different for each villager (or at the very least, different for each villager with that personality type)
Ik, the only interesting thing they say are self-aware stuff tbh.

An observatory would be great!! Like having it on some kind of elevated area and "collecting" constellations or things like that. Esp since the zodiacs is already part of the game (on your passport)
I have a cool idea which may never happen but what if we got a new npc maybe like an alien or an astronaut they would come to the island in a space shuttle or ufo every time you get a heavy meteor shower and they would take you up to the moon or any planet and Celeste would be there and you could do stuff (I haven’t thought about that tho lol xD)

As a new player, I'm shocked that the franchise still has this much to offer from the previous games while it already has a bunch of mechanics in new horizons... I love everything that was mentioned in the video, however I'm also quite sad that I missed this amazing franchise. I wish I'd discovered it sooner T_T
Yeah. This video doesn't even say half of the features missing from NH that were in previous games. Like villagers visiting your houses or you could buy their furniture sometimes. You could have a credit card to make big purchases at Labelle's store since she sold really nice, but expensive stuff. There was also this magical fountain where a character named Selena would show up and I loved her. Also finding Mr. Resettis surveillance center and seeing his brother. There was a city in animal crossing city folk where you could buy cute balloons and it was just great
If you have a used video game store in your area that is selling at this time, pick up an older system and check out an older game. You don't have to just play the newest installment.

I foresee Kapin being introduced with the diving update, where he'll take you out onto the open sea to go deep sea diving or treasure hunting in sunken wrecks.

I realllly miss going to the little island and playing mini games with my friends. Brewster, Kapin, diving, and going to the island with friends is what I really need brought back.

With Brewster there should be Easter eggs to other Nintendo games for instance while working there Mario comes in to the shop and orders a coffee. I loved how in new leaf Gulliver would talk about his trip to Delfino Plaza. I also want Cat Mario, Peach, Rosalina to be villagers as cats. We could get a toad and toadette villager a daisy villager that is a yellow bunny with a Daisy dress. I love Nintendo themed villagers. If we could have 15 villagers on an expanded island that would be great.
You will likely get them in two months as payed DLC micro transactions for 20 bucks a pop. we are in the age of games as a service. Lootboxs and microtransaction everything. This game already released 20% complete. Its only getting worse from here.

Iove the fact that you predicted pascal for the summer update
A video I saw had a great idea. When you give Tom Nook a lot of creatures, Blathers comes. So what if when you send a lot of letters, Orville needs help and the post office comes? I do feel like Shampoodle should show up as a stand selling new hairstyles (maybe even custom hair colors), and if you buy from them a lot, they start a shop.
The big glaring problem with trying to add more characters is that there is limited amount of space on the island to add more shops and having them be visitor characters means Jolly Redd becomes even less likely to find. They will likely have to either make everything extra rooms within existing buildings, or they might do what they did with Harv's island and just have a "City" island people fly to for more shops.

I just got animal crossing NH 3 weeks ago and I’ve been binging all your videos! It’s so interesting to see how things like deep sea diving have since been added in! Hopefully more things you want to see will be added :)
I think the thing I miss THE MOST in New Horizons is being the mayor.
Idk, without that feature, I feel that the whole experience changes completely. In New Leaf, I felt that the town was mine in some sense, and I was always keen to come back and play because I needed to take care of MY town. I didn’t mind paying for bridges and public renovations because it was my duty as a mayor, and I always felt great satisfaction for improving the landscape for my villagers. In New Horizons I feel ripped off and that the Island puts way too much responsibility into a normal villager. I can’t imagine the people enjoying my town when I’m not playing like I did in New Leaf. Now, I feel like the game freezes in time until I come back. It doesn’t feel as immersive anymore.
I wish, at least, there was a way to progress through the game and became the mayor of the island eventually.
I think it would be cool if you could become the mayor once you get 5 stars. I have like 500 hours in NH and still do not have a 5 star island because the only reward is lily of the valleys and a golden watering can... I think? So I'm in no hurry to make my island "perfect."

I 100% agree, Resident Rep is a downgrade, Tom Nook is still head of the island. For all the work you put in I find it pretty insulting to be honest.
I guess I didn't really care because when I got NL someone already owned it and at the time I didn't know how to delete the town so I made a new account. I wasn't ever the mayor so I don't really have a problem being resident rep in NH.

You see ... Nintendo is taking with New Horizons the same approach they took with Pocket Camp: each update will bring new things to do.
We still don't know how the shop will look like when fully upgraded, or what pourpose the small dock serves.
New Horizons also doesn't feel complete: compared to New Leaf, it seems to not have as many different furniture sets and clothing as New Leaf had.
I am sure that some of these features mentioned in the video, as well some of those characters, will be added in the future in proper time.
which meens eventually micro transaction crap is coming,as this is games as a service business modal crap. Released unfinshed and striped of features that use to exist in older titles so they can slowly add them back and eventually charge for it. This is gameing in 2020 blame fortnite

And who would buy ACNH DLC? Like, the game is good enough, even without it. Stop assuming everything will be microtransaction related.

Basically, what we wanted on release was the amount of content from New Leaf, but tons of customisation
The outcome was great but the lack of content was displeasing
I feel like whenever Kapp'n came to your island, he could take you to another island where you could get the other fruits. It would be an efficient way of bringing back both features.

To be honest I started gaming only a few years ago and got to know animal crossing a mont ago when my sister got it, so to watch your videos and learn about the glitches and the past of said game, it’s actually amazing and would love to experience all of the extinct activities in previous versions of the game.
I swear probably the largest thing i miss is gyroids. I remember being young, playing animal crossing and filling rooms with them, combining them to make awesome little songs made my day, its what i lived for in the game!

I’d like for them to bring back furniture collections, I don’t know if its me but I feel that there’s not enough furniture and to me it’s really important cause I love to decorate my house as well as my island and in other games there were beautiful collections that now are missing, I hope they’ll bring them back or at least more furniture!!

@Edward Elric I only care about potential mictrotransactions. Most of the other petty drama bait arguments are in fact BS. i don't care about cloud saves and the sharing the island argument is a moot point and shows you are probably far to young to have played the first AC or the sequels you had to share your town in the first one and most of the sequels as well. This is no diffrent. Im tired of the "oh but only one island doe" whineing in this community.
CallOfKarren BoomerOps I have to disagree, the one save file is serious issue. Besides the potential to lose everything and having to share an island with others it’s ridiculous that what is fundamentally a design game only let’s you undertake the process once. It’s like if the Sims 4 or Sims City gave you on save file. You can only realise one vision of a dream island, which destroys replay-ability

5:56: Okay, so, I love this video, I fully agreed with all of the points here, but it’s strange at this moment when we have the swimming update in-game...(not being a hater, just thought it was funny)
Since we can customise furniture ourselfs now, Cyrus could still have the gold set. Another idea would be, that if you give him a golden tool with maybe a star fragment he could make you a shiny golden tool which will be unbreakable, since he is a more experienced crafter and only he can make it unbreakable.

You were scarily spot on with how these things would be included
I loved being able to kick the soccer balls with villagers in the GC version. Sometimes a neighbor would even ask of you cpuld find them a ball to kick around and that was really fun for me as a child.
Since we can create fences and hedges in New Horizons we can now stop the ball from going into the river and the sea by building fences and hedges around the area we want to use the playing field to play football (or Soccer as the Americans call it due to American Football just being called Football over there). But we now need the abilty to throw balls as well having basketball nets that can be interacted with so we can then play basketball with the villagers or our human guests.
@Hollie We can bounce balls. But we can't throw balls (e.g. We can't throw balls towards the Basketball Net item after it is placed or to each other) or kick them about (or even kick them into a placed Soccer Net item).
We can have up to 8 people on an island but all we can do is bounce balls. If we enough Jail Cell fences and 2 placed Basketball Net items we can create a Street Basketballl area but it means very little when all we can do is bounce balls and not be able to throw them at the net or towards other people.

I have 3 ideas, extra hairstyles like braided hairstyles, half up half down, and space buns, things like fringes or freckles as added to the mirror, and in shampoo does you could maybe get highlights or colour fades for your hair
even tho she visits I miss going into celeste's observatory and seeing how she could tell us other stuff and we dont get her randomly
The thing I miss the most is Reese’s shop
Yes the retail I loved putting up items for sale and buying and making my villagers buy my items too as well as having Cyrus there too he could do more tool durability upgrades
Cyrus could still have a role at customizing the furniture that isn’t customizable like if I want a darker wood antique bed I have to wait until it’s available that isn’t fair. However with Cyrus I could get what I’m looking for.
If Nintendo doesn’t want another shop, it could be an event like the fishing tourney and the bug tourney where they have a stand and a mini flea market where one of your villagers would put up an item and you could to. Or Reese could have special furniture you couldn’t get anywhere else.

I TOTALLY forgot about the ordinances! That'd be really helpful to include - more than ever people are on different schedules and it's a shame for people to miss out on content unless they start messing with their clock. Even I tend to play around 11pm when everything's closed.

On the pier, you should be able to take Kappn’s boat (for 2,500 bells - open all day) to a Main Street island, It will have these shops on it;
Gracie and Labelle’s Style Shop. (Where Gracie sells brand new furniture types and types of furniture from past games, and Labelle sells Gracies’s clothes designs and new, fashionable clothes - open from 9am to 9pm, Labelle’s area would be shut if she is on your island)
Kick’s Shoe Shop. (Which would be above Gracie and Labelle’s Style Shop, where Kicks would sell new, fashionable shoes and bags - open from 10am to 9pm, if he isn’t on your island)
Leif’s Gardening Shop. (Where Leif sells Rare flowers and New bush types - open from 8am to 8pm, if he isn’t on your island)
Chip’s Fish Store. (Where Chip takes you on a Fishing Boat and Let you catch more Rare fish - Open from 10am to 8pm)
Nat’s Bug Store. (Which would be above Chip’s Fish Store where Nat takes you to a Haven for bugs where you can catch more Rare bugs - Open from 7am to 10pm)
Joan’s Farming Store. (Which would be above Leif’s Gardening Shop where Joan sells New Crops and Fruits such as Mango, Lychee, Durian, Lemon, Persimmon, Banana, and maybe some new ones - Open from 8am to 9pm)
Digby and Lyle’s Design Shop. (Where Digby or Lyle greets you, then Lottie drives you to a resident on the Island, the resident would be someone who has moved away from your island and you would have to decorate their interior and exterior - Open from 10am to 8pm)
Dr Shrunk’s Disco. (Where Dr Shrunk teaches you new reactions which would be Dance Moves, for each dance move you would have to give him a piece of Fruit from your island - Open from 7pm to 7am)
Blanca’s Cosmetics. (Where you ask Blanca for a makeover and unlock new Eye shapes, Nose shapes and Mouth shapes - Open from 9am to 10pm, Unless it is April 1st, where she pretends to be your villagers)
Brewster’s Café. (In the Museum on your Island, or a brand new building, or a Shop on the Main Street, where Brewster sells New Beverages and New Food - Open from 9am to 11pm)
Pelly and Pete’s Postal Service. (You can buy Post cards from Pelly and write them to Villagers who used to live on your island to invite them back to your island, Pete will deliver the Post cards for 1,000 bells, the next day You will receive a post card from the villager you sent it to either Accepting your invitation or declining it, this depends on your friendship level before they left your island - Open all day)
Frillard’s Shrine. (A memorial for Frillard - Open all day)
Harriet’s Salon. (Which is Above Blanca’s Cosmetics, Where Harriet gives you a makeover and you unlock new Hairstyles and Hair Colours for your character - Open from 11am to 7pm)

Man, in watching this you made me realize how many of the staple characters I knew and loved are missing from this game... I'm also sad about Brewster, I'd really love to visit The Roost again. Glad the Dream Suite and Swimming has returned, but so many other characters and features are missing. My island looks so pretty, but feels so empty...

I definitely feel kapp’n will return. There’s gotta be SOME planned thing for the small jetty, like the private beach had a function. Also, it seems pretty strange that a whole model and animation set was coded in for kapp’n, just to have as a character to take photos of when you scan his amiibo? Especially as his model is exclusive to him, and not used by any other character in the game, I.E. his family etc. I dunno, just seems like a weird choice for a developer.

Part of me kinda appreciates that updates with new content are coming out every few months so we don't get bored, but I also wish some of this was just in it from the beginning! I'm super happy to hear that Brewster appears in the code so he'll probably be coming, but I wish he was unlockable from the beginning as you donate to the museum or something, or maybe after you get the K.K. concert. Especially if there are new buildings that will appear... that's gonna mess up people's layouts and be pretty frustrating for a lot of players.
I'm excited to see what the next update has, though!
I agree with everything. I seriously thought I was the only one upset about how I couldn’t preview floors and wallpapers. Such a basic yet very helpful feature that was overlooked

I have an idea for what Harriet could do: she could give you temporary diy recipes for shampoos with the needed materials appearing when you except it. Then you bring it back to her and then she would give you, wigs, new hairstyles, or bells.
Agree with the list. I have no idea why they removed perfect fruit!! I even tried planting my native fruit at a glowing spot early on to see if that's how you got it, but alas, no luck.
I also miss villagers visiting your house!! They had way more ways to interact with you in New Leaf :c like I'd be in my house and they'd randomly knock on my door! How cute was that.
I love New Horizons too, but I sincerely hope they add more, cause now I'm only stuck in a terraforming loop. And I miss the old furniture sets too!
I absolutely strongly agree with you, I really hope Brewster returns in new horizon I loved working in the Cafe hopefully we will get him back.
I’m okay with a lot of the missing features, as personally I hated a lot of the old characters like doctor Shrunk and the dream suite, Katrina, and don’t even get me started on how much Harriet messed up my hair for 3000 bells! I definitely miss diving, more buildings to create a more “town” feel, more villager dialogue and more villager games, the cafe, and the mini games. The mini games were one of the best part of New Leaf for me as sometimes it felt like there was nothing else to do on a particular day (a statement I feel very strongly about in NH as most of the gameplay is customisation) so being able to escape to the island and play mini games with my friends was the best. I wish we had the same amount of content and things to do in NH as in NL, just personally, not the same things as previous games. I love NH, but I feel as though I’ve ‘completed’ the gameplay already, as all buildings have been unlocked etc, whereas NL I had for years and I still hadn’t finished unlocking everything last year. In essence, I just wish there was a bit more to do other than the same old things like terraforming (though I adore the amount of customisation we have available it’s amazing). Sincerely, an AC addict with a very short attention span.
Edit: Something else I remembered - I actually miss being able to read information about creatures donated to the museum. Blather’s facts are basically rubbish now, as all he talks about is how much he hates bugs or one fact about the creature that isn’t even interesting. It’s also annoying having to talk to him to find out about something. I loved being able to read about the creatures whilst seeing them, it made the museum feel a lot more real and interesting. And with theNH museum being so realistic, it seems like something that is really missing to me.
Yes I agree with your points that nl had much more content as it was packed full of things to do and unlocking all the stores took so long Katrina took years to get her shop and I totally agree with the museum we need the Missing information it used to have and the thing outside the museum which told you all the fossils
