Thanks very much! Resources online for this pistol are pretty rare.

1953 was a third variation.it had the loaded chamber signal pin that stuck out the rear of the slide. the first variation ran from 1920-1925, the second from 1926-1949, the third from 1949-1958 and the fourth from 1958-1967.

I have heard things about Astra... I fired 1 round through it and the firing pin broke. It is a two section pin. it broke where the pin locks it in place. I am ordering a new single piece replacement from Bobs guns parts on line. That seems to be a common issue with this model. Besides that .... I still think it is kinda neat as an addition to my pocket gun collection.

I appreciate your effort on the vid, Kurt. Unfortunately a few things are still unclear to me for disassembly. I got the firing pin retaining pin out (the pin that is under the extractor spring). However, for the life of me I can’t get the firing pin nor the indicator rod out. If anyone can offer some tips or point me to some other resources, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry just got back from two weeks in lobby Colorado. Hmmm sorry but I have since sold most of my .25’s. All I can remember is that it was a pain. Be careful these are or were inexpensive guns but parts can be expensive. You might talk to a gunsmith at a local gunshow sometimes they have good tips

No worries at all. I placed a punch against the chamber end of the firing pin. Just a bit of thumb pressure and it popped out. I fiddled with the load indicator for a while to no avail. Decided to just leave it alone as the slide is pretty clean and I’m only doing a cold blue. Came out looking pretty nice.

I've worked on these guns. I've seen the older and newer slides on this late 40's and fifties. About two years ago I worked on a Y 1953 with the older slide. I would work under a see through hood or large baggie at least. These parts can fly out the window and you'll be on your knees with a magnet. Thanks

I used to fabricate the firing pin extension for these and sell them for 20.00 on eBay until someone left me negative feedback and then I stop selling them

Hello friend, first thanks to your channel and your videos,Yes, you managed to put the extractor spring, but how can you repair the spring and the trigger needle?, since a friend has an equal of 47 and as you can see , the percussion mechanism is completely attached to the gun slide. And it seems to me that your trigger needle broke inside the percussion mechanism, can you give an explanation on the subject? Thank you and the best blessings, my friend.

You gotta clean and oil them like mad. 3 in 1 is good.
