One of the most underrated musicians of this era. Too bad he didn't get all the credit he deserved cause huge record companies have no interest in supporting blues rock and just care about copy&paste pop sh*t, still I'm happy he keeps rocking on. Hope to see him live somewhere, sooner or later.

The notes that come from the guitar of this very nice artist leave me speechless. He's another great musician who has a great sound , leaves room for the music to sing and has great feel . How come he hasn't been picked up I don't know . So much better than the limp wristed drip along music we're force fed at the moment . Scuse me while I replay this bit of genius again .

Love that guitar strap. I bought one of his albums many many years ago. A friend I played music with told me about him. At the time Poppa's drummer was a talented fellow from my area (Kenny Soule) so that was another reason I gave him a listen. It was a great album.
He's a helluva guitar player and singer. What he does with these songs is genius imo. Definitely entertaining.

This guy is an original . Although he seems to mostly do covers he rips them apart and reassembles them so well he makes the songs his own .
He does have a bunch of his own songs. But he is not as well known as he should be and people will click on the cover songs.
He has quite a few originals that are some of the best songs I've ever heard. Unfortunately they are not as well known as they should be. His covers are also masterful

I live to hear electric guitar, played by someone who's talented and can tell a story. I am really, pleasantly surprised that old guitar hasn't exploded yet because this guy's the real deal... I personally haven't heard anyone else even try to weave the Stones, Lou Reed and Snoop Dogg together like this. And pull it off!

So Poppa Chubby was gig'n at Buddy Guy's in Chicago one night, and the opening act's drummer was in a car accident...The Opening act decided to cancel, Not only did he (Poppa Chubby)play drums for the opening act: he paid the lead singer(of the opening act band) and said, " I hear it's your wedding anniversary, enjoy tonight on me!!!!"

I do not regret having discovered popa one fine day of the year 2000. Even today he surprises me and he will always surprise me.
I discovered him in '95 when he played Sweet Goddess of Love and Beer on a morning show while I happened to have the TV on (rare). Loved him ever since.

Kevin Rollman True, Kevin! I just mean, that I seem to remember, I didn’t have the impression on those nights, that the two were playing a guitar at all. They were just emanating music (but Popa was still moving around the stage back then).

I have only recently discovered Papa Chubby about a year now. His music is awesome. When HRH Blues had Papa Chubby on the bill here in my town of Sheffield England I decided to get tickets. It was two days of Blues and Papa Chubby head lined one of the other nights. I thought that this was going to be one awesome night. I got to the venue and found out that he had pulled out. I was really gutted. I still had a great night as there were other great blues artists to see.
Saw him at the VFW in Lake Park, FL a few years ago. Great show! He is a natural born entertainer.
