So Poppa Chubby was gig'n at Buddy Guy's in Chicago one night, and the opening act's drummer was in a car accident...The Opening act decided to cancel, Not only did he (Poppa Chubby)play drums for the opening act: he paid the lead singer(of the opening act band) and said, " I hear it's your wedding anniversary, enjoy tonight on me!!!!"

One of the most underrated musicians of this era. Too bad he didn't get all the credit he deserved cause huge record companies have no interest in supporting blues rock and just care about copy&paste pop sh*t, still I'm happy he keeps rocking on. Hope to see him live somewhere, sooner or later.

No offence, but this guy does mainly covers. I don’t disagree he’s a great musician and underrated performer but huge record companies want originality - that means writing your own songs!

This guy is an original . Although he seems to mostly do covers he rips them apart and reassembles them so well he makes the songs his own .
He does have a bunch of his own songs. But he is not as well known as he should be and people will click on the cover songs.
He has quite a few originals that are some of the best songs I've ever heard. Unfortunately they are not as well known as they should be. His covers are also masterful

I live to hear electric guitar, played by someone who's talented and can tell a story. I am not a music expert, but i am always looking for positive musical sensations. By chance I landed on this video and I can't stop listening to it. The notes that come from the guitar of this very nice artist leave me speechless. As often happens, there are musicians who have an edge and are able to transmit vibrations, a real pleasure for the ears. That's why it's important to surf youtube, to find hidden geniuses like Popa Chubby. Hi Popa, good, well done!

He's another great musician who has a great sound , leaves room for the music to sing and has great feel . How come he hasn't been picked up I don't know . So much better than the limp wristed drip along music we're force fed at the moment . Scuse me while I replay this bit of genius again .

He and two friends walked into a resort bar in Danbury Wisconsin one weekend night and just took the joint over. There was already a stage set up for a local band. He and his buddies just started jamming..bought him a couple Jack and Cokes...best night in memory..Heads up West Point bar...Danbury Wisconsin

I do not regret having discovered popa one fine day of the year 2000. Even today he surprises me and he will always surprise me.
I discovered him in '95 when he played Sweet Goddess of Love and Beer on a morning show while I happened to have the TV on (rare). Loved him ever since.

Was listening to different versions of this Rolling Stones song. Heard Motorhead, Guns and Roses and none of them did the song any justice. Just stumbled onto Popa Chubby and he is awesome.

Kevin Rollman True, Kevin! I just mean, that I seem to remember, I didn’t have the impression on those nights, that the two were playing a guitar at all. They were just emanating music (but Popa was still moving around the stage back then).
