Also, never realized until now that Venus owns both Upchaya houses and so is partially malefic depending on position.

I suggest that you book a consultation with sir. It is not possible to provide an accurate picture without looking at the full chart. The degrees between the Sun, Venus and Mercury are also critical. Any planet close to the Sun within 10 to 12 degrees will combust. However, Mercury can still function well unless it's too close to the Sun (within 4 degrees). Here, it is clear, that Mercury is fallen, but receives Neecha Bhanga from Venus, which is exalted. Again, you need to look at the degrees for the intensity of debilitation or exaltation. If your Sun is not receiving any malefic aspects, then it is a powerful Sun as it receives good energy from two natural benefics--Venus and Mercury. The Sun is in a friendly sign, but the 8th house isn't the best placement for it as it can indicate problems with authority figures or even the father (also need to look at Jupiter for the father). Looks like you will have a career that's research oriented, dealing in insurance, banking or connected with other people's money or even occult and astrology. All the best!
Sir how do we read mecury’s placement in 9th house for Leo ascendant. It’s 8th from second and 11th from 11th and in badhaka sign. Will it tend to give negative result in 9th. Not considering any influence of other planets. Asking this question as you mentioned budha Aditya yoga in 9th is good.
