I have watched feminist rallies, feminist conventions, feminist speeches you name it and after all that, what I have learned is women will always sell each other out for money, prestige, power - anything that will benefit them in the short term. Women could have liberation right now, if they moved overseas and built women run villages but they won't. There are Eastern European women right now that live alone and fend for themselves. I'm working to recenter myself and find myself and heal but it's so hard and this mess has been just destabilizing in a way. Don’t be afraid. I asked my brother to teach me how to shoot a couple years ago and I was really good at it! The fact that you respect a firearm is a good thing! Think of how much more aware of their surroundings/ conscientious women have to be on a daily basis… you just need instruction and experience. Find a range/ group that gears toward/ is lead by women, like women’s veterans groups. Go with friends. Learn new skills and learn how to protect yourself 💖

If I could go back to my elementary school self I would tell her to quit taking tap dance classes and walk herself over to the martial arts center. I would seriously warn her and any other girl listening that in your adult life you will never need to use your shuffle-ball-change but you will need to defend yourself many times against unwanted advances. I worked with a girl whose father lived in Pakistan during that era when the women were freely dressed in western culture, educated, had jobs. Just before shit hit the fan politically, he taught his children how to read, write, speak English well and perfectly in American accent before he moved them here. His daughter when I worked with her, named Ilhan was the youngest of all the sales associates at 19, but she was the most proficient and she was able to be the breadwinner for her family by 20 because her father passed away. She took care of her mom and older brother while living in a rich neighborhood. Her father, was a exceptional middle-eastern man who took his daughter out of a serious situation before it happened.

Another thing I’ve been recommending lately is martial arts classes. Please take them, and if you have daughters, enroll them in classes, too, as young as they’re allowed. And keep taking them for at least five years, or whatever it takes to get a black belt, until those defensive responses are absolutely automatic. They could save your life in states that don’t allow pew pews. Men who attack women always do it because they know that women are smaller and weaker than them, so, we need to surprise them with the moves that will render those men a lot less powerful, or much, much worse for them. If the majority of women started getting training and being able to fight back, men will start realizing their power isn’t going to get them the control they are going for. So, look around at what different types of martial arts training is available in your area, and go to their studios and ask questions about the styles, why theirs is better than others, and what the ultimate goal of the skills are. If it’s solely for defense, as in allowing the attacker to walk away mostly unharmed, I don’t recommend those. I recommend the styles that will teach you to *finish* any encounter. Also, I don’t know if there are any women-owned and women-taught classes, but, if there are, I would definitely suggest those. Good luck out there ladies. Actually, *make* your own luck! ❤

Women gained all these rights because of abortion rights. The reason women couldn’t get mortgages and bank accounts on their own is because women were not able to control their bodies. If you can’t control your body then you can’t control your finances and can’t control your future. Once women gained rights to their body they gained the ability to tell banks and mortgage providers that NOTHING, not even biology and making babies, stood in their way any more.

I'm working to recenter myself and find myself and heal but it's so hard and this mess has been just destabilizing in a way. Hi, former martial artist here. There’s weight classes in MMA for a reason. Men are (usually) physically stronger. Getting armed isn’t enough. You need to train with it. Women’s r!fle clubs, let’s start em, let’s make freer spaces.
Do it scared! Get both. Martial arts classes and pew classes so pew is not used against you. If you can't move out of the states in 2024, you need to protect yourself.

If I could go back to my elementary school self I would tell her to quit taking tap dance classes and walk herself over to the martial arts center. I worked with a girl whose father lived in Pakistan during that era when the women were freely dressed in western culture, educated, had jobs. Just before shit hit the fan politically, he taught his children how to read, write, speak English well and perfectly in American accent before he moved them here. His daughter when I worked with her, named Ilhan was the youngest of all the sales associates at 19, but she was the most proficient and she was able to be the breadwinner for her family by 20 because her father passed away. She took care of her mom and older brother while living in a rich neighborhood. Her father, was a exceptional middle-eastern man who took his daughter out of a serious situation before it happened.

Another thing I’ve been recommending lately is martial arts classes. Please take them, and if you have daughters, enroll them in classes, too, as young as they’re allowed. And keep taking them for at least five years, or whatever it takes to get a black belt, until those defensive responses are absolutely automatic. They could save your life in states that don’t allow pew pews. Men who attack women always do it because they know that women are smaller and weaker than them, so, we need to surprise them with the moves that will render those men a lot less powerful, or much, much worse for them. If the majority of women started getting training and being able to fight back, men will start realizing their power isn’t going to get them the control they are going for. So, look around at what different types of martial arts training is available in your area, and go to their studios and ask questions about the styles, why theirs is better than others, and what the ultimate goal of the skills are. If it’s solely for defense, as in allowing the attacker to walk away mostly unharmed, I don’t recommend those. I recommend the styles that will teach you to *finish* any encounter. Also, I don’t know if there are any women-owned and women-taught classes, but, if there are, I would definitely suggest those. Good luck out there ladies. Actually, *make* your own luck! ❤

Out of hundreds in educational and professional spaces, ~4 have proven themselves genuine, non-threatening. Some BW don't want to risk it, just like some women don't want to risk with m.en. Maybe there are safe plants out there that can help but I’d never rely on anything that’s efficacy is still under question
