    When a professional pefumer says "it smells really nice, but underwhelming and safe" - that's when you know it's a bomb of a fragrance 😄

      What you're experiencing is called cognitive dissonance. Your easily trick-able brain got tricked by a cheap hook in a questionable fragrance and now you can't face the reality where this is nothing special. It got discontinued for a reason, yo.

      This sums up why I like L'Homme more than L'Homme intense, the original is a great daytime and work scent this is neither an exceptional daytime or night scent I wish Prada didn't discontinued this as it is beautiful but understand to degree why they did.

    I love that you can personally not like a fragrance or find it boring, but still recognize that it’s well made and still smells nice. I think that’s noteworthy (pun slightly intended) because I’m sure it would be easy to write a fragrance off having such a highly trained nose.

    • @AaronTerenceHughes

      Ofcause. The work involved in creating fragrance is massive. Time-consuming and expensive. To smash a fragrance is the worst type of hate. I love and respect perfumery.

    That salty sweet iris leather is intoxicating! Aaron's usually on point but he has it wrong this IS mindblowing for a professional gentlemans fragrance! Its mind blowing for it's category. So refreshing to smell something thats a tad sweet but something that doesn't smell like it belongs on a plate (Stronger with you intensely- *eye roll*). Original l'homme is boring but this is creative and beautifully done. Top 5 fragrances ever for me in the archives of Aventus, Invictus Aqua 2016, and D&G The one edp - it's that gorgeous!!! It smells like the leather interior of a brand new car; sexy crisp new refreshing sweet leather.

    Very honest and great review. I must say that while you give it a hit for the overwhelming use of synthetic aroma chemicals, I find it to be decently blended and more expensive smelling than other fragrances within the same category. Daniela Andriej has perfected (in my opinion) the art of delivering an expensive smelling fragrance in almost everything she creates for Prada.

    • @robertarmstrong6015
      @robertarmstrong6015 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @dextermorgan2117
      @dextermorgan2117 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniela Andriej has been making lavendary soapy trash that smells like impotent men.
      It's right in their scent pitch: "The new fragrant “pair of equals" represents man and woman that are “reunited in an identical vision. She could be him, he could be her."
      Enough said. If you enjoy having a vagina for a penis get this. And that's coming from me - a man who wears Baccarat Rouge 540

The only designer fragrances that I have worn over the last year are Blue de Channel parfum and Spice bomb extreme.and that was only on rare grab and go occasions. I think that the problem isn't with the cologne houses but their target consumer who lacks tihe self confidence to go for it and test the bounderies of what is possible. Andrew Jones £50 is a bargain for this. Bear in mind the high marks go to the ones I feel are ground breaking and make me feel something or tingle. To do that they really need a minimum of 30% high quality naturals or be built so amazing that I want to create art. This one was very nice. Well crafted and ok. It’s not mind blowing but well ... nice

  • @chusett
    @chusett 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Sometimes i find ATH to be pretty on point with reviews. Here I disagree completely. Firstly, yes its not mindblowing, its not meant to be. Its a designer frag. Its also the flanker to a frag that most know is probably the most office safe scent in existence. So it somewhat carries that DNA here but its a little darker and stronger. If it completely changed the whole profile then Lhomme heads wouldve been mad.
    Price wise.. 70 pounds is not bad at all. Aaron's frags are like 100 pounds for a 50ml, 20 pounds for a 10ml.
    Sure maybe with better ingredients but cmon.. lets not talk price when you charge what you charge. Anyone seen the msrp on the unicorn elixir for chrissake

    I wear the EDT and feel similarly about it. It smells very good and very fresh but not super interesting. When wearing it, I've had plenty of people say "you smell good!," but no one has ever said, "you smell good...what is that?" Does that make sense?
    Another popular TH-cam fragrance channel describes the fragrance (the EDT) as a "luxurious dryer sheet." I totally get that from it and perhaps that's why people don't ask what fragrance I'm wearing because it could be my clothes or a hair product even. It's just a very safe pleasant fragrance.

    Good review. What you have to keep in mind is the scent does not live in a bottle. Perfumers have to understand the interaction within different body oils person to person. What smells good on you doesn't on me. However, field experience is the ladies love it. After dry down is where it shines. A young Japanese lady friend of mine went ballistic on me and put the karate grip on me if you dig.

      It’s one of the “go to office fragrances”, alongside scents like Bleu de Chanel and alike. It’s def. a “safe, inoffensive scent”. Agree with Aaron though, it’s overpriced, better off with something like Dylan Blue in your situation.

Projects strong for hours and lasts for days. It is hard to find a fragrance at this price range that has such good performance.

    These designer brands can release more unique and original fragrances they just choose not to. The reason is they rather play it safe and release fragrances that they know will sell and make them money. And majority of those fragrance are safe smelling and copy what is already out there and proven to sell to the customer base. I say every five years a designer brand will take chance and release something that is unique and that will take off and become successful and then all the other designer brands will copy it and try to cash in on that fragrance popularity.

    • @johnmayhew4833
      @johnmayhew4833 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally right man! Seems like the houses that take a big risk end up being the trend setters! Although if you look back to the 80s and 90s I think there was more individuality... yeah, there were trends ,and, a fair amount of overlap but it also seemed like every house had an iconic scent that felt exclusive to them. Today’s market is like you said, somebody takes a risk then all the houses copy it and that becomes the trend. You see it particularly with the whole “blue” trend and Dior started the iris craze.

Actually most of the overhyped colones they make you blind buy them then u get disappointed with a very normal scent i mean decent but not mind blowing .
