I grew up in Atlanta. I met Andy at a B.C. Surf and Sport, demo in the 80's. I can't even say when, but I was a grom. Just a little little kid in full pads, at a jump ramp demo. I remember begging my father to take my helmet and pads off. So later in the 90's, New Deal was huge. Maybe skating " A&P future Store", with Andy. Maybe a session at Street Waves in Lithonia/ Stone Mountain? Andy is how I figured out skating downtown was rad... Bell South, and Later on Jamie Thomas... Anyways. Dallas Austin created Atlanta. Dallas did so many projects.

This show reminds me of so much stuff that you tend to forget...like when a sequence was the only way to see a skater perform a trick in Transworld or Thrasher....kinda miss that a little bit honestly
Skypager video literally shaped how we skated in our neighborhood in the early 90's. It was revolutionary.

New Deal was such a big important era for me. Although there were like 5 different eras a year back then, lol. It was a big part of how I skate. I still own a odd Numbers 45
New Deal marked the changing of the guard for me. I stopped paying attention to Powell, SC, and Vision almost overnight.

Oh wow man. When he starts talking about hip hop it’s like he’s explaining what happened a few years before I got into the scene as a beatmaker and dj. Lil John was mostly spinning reggae and a little bit of house music. I was always trying to make to Apache Cafe for the Drez the beatnik stuff as well as the bboy and house nights at MLK. Atlanta was the shit back then. Little 5 points was the spot if you wanted to meet graf artists, skaters, punks or rave kids.

Straight up, guys, this show has been a vehicle for so many inspiring and real, heartfelt stories from some of the best people ever. THANK YOU for doing this, don't ever stop. Andy Howell has been one of my favorite artists since I was 14 years old. It is incredible to get this kind of insight and such great stories from him. You've created such a rad environment for these interviews too.

new deal art and skating had the most influence on my skateboarding being and in general
Same. As big as the 80s were, New Deal took it in a whole new direction. I appreciated it because we were street skaters on the east coast and had mad hip-hop influence. This made more sense to me.
