    I've been playing ETS2 for the last 10 years. It's quite a big part of my life together with ATS. It's very interesting to see someone play it for the first time and see their reactions. This was a blast to watch! Took me back to my "first time" :)

      Somehow he's right.

    About the air pressure warning: you can disable the simulation of air pressure if you want. Otherwise this is how it works. Everytime when you use the air breaks (also parking breaks) you loose a bit of pressure. The motor is responsible to build up pressure. When the pressure is low, the brakes can't release anymore. Especially in situations when you navigate on a paring space, oftentimes you loose more pressure than the motor can build up. When you get the low pressure warning, shift to neutral and hit the gas paddle to restore the pressure.

      Great explanation thank you 👍🎉

    • @TheFinePlayer
      @TheFinePlayer ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Also, when playing with controller it's easier to loose more pressure than needed since you tend to hit the brake trigger very far which makes the truck use lots of air.

      @@IWrocker and I can tell you as someone that drives trucks it happens a lot loosing air pressure if you're using the brakes a lot while parking. And in real life you wouldn't hit the gas peddle but idle at around 900-1000 rpm to build the air back up, any higher and you're just wasting gas as the air lines can only support so much. It doesn't help if you have an air leak to, which is quite common in my job, we drive on some rough roads and farms and our trucks don't like the beating they get.

    To watch this as a truck driver from Germany, I can tell you, that was fun 😂
    I don't know the game, but when you try a very tight turn with this kind of truck, you might damage the pressure connection to the trailer and as a side note, the tyres of the trailer don't like to be scraped sideways when the trailer is fully loaded 😉
    In town, you have to stay always on the right lane and red lights are red lights ( some got a little traffic sign with a green arrow, only than you are allowed to go on (at least in Germany) ). I could tell you so many stories about horrible situations in old little towns and their narrow streets , but you are just about to find out . Good luck 😅

      @@darek4488 in germany, there are two types of green right arrows: the lit ones that are just normal traffic lights like the full circles, and other arrows in red/yellow/green for left, right and straight. none of them is anything like the american "right on red" which generally is not allowed over here. the other type of green right arrows are not lit, but small additional traffic signs that allow to do a "right on red" at that crossing (thus the opposite of the american extra signs that say "no right on red").
      but if you chose to do such a "right on red", it has to be done like at a stop sign, completely stopping before turning, at least once at the stop line, and possibly also a second stop at the "line of sight". and always watch for pedestrians and bikes too, which may be allowed to use some oneway streets or bicycle lanes opposite to the normal direction (or who do it anyway). and don't block them or pedestrians/bicycles driving straight on on your right side, while waiting for your chance to turn (not only on red, but also on green). that's also one of the reasons why we have so few of those "right on red" crossings, and traffic lights next to the stop lines and not high up over the other side of the crossing.

But the developers do have teams specifically that go back and refresh older areas to bring them up to standard - there’s just a lot to do! Germany is currently the main focus in ETS2 and California in ATS - Oklahoma should be released around July time (based on historical release times) and November-ish for Kansas. Love to see the difference in driving on multi-lane roads between Europe en de US. US drivers tend to pick one lane and stick to it until their exit. In Europe, in most places, it's mandatory to stay in the most right lane and you are only allowed to use the left one when overtaking or when the road divides itself. You will even be fined for unnecessary left-lane driving. Here in the Netherlands, it will cost you €220,- ($235,-)
    And of course, in the UK it's the other way around.

      A friend of mine got a ticket for not driving his truck in the right most lane on I-5 in the US. He was driving in the middle lane so that cars could safely merge at intersections. The law is there in most states, just usually isn't enforced.

    • @ElderonAnalas
      @ElderonAnalas ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I can't wait for his first experience with the European highways in this game where suddenly the right lane just becomes an off ramp. Since typically in the US, if the highway has 2 lanes in one direction, we add a 3rd lane for off ramps to leave and enter. I know some EU highways also do this, but it still catches me off guard in this game, since like you say, you stay in the right lane unless you have to pass. And then suddenly the right lane is curving out from under you.

    I LOVE ETS2!!! I'm the type of madman that plays with keyboard and mouse.
    Answers to some of your questions:
    - The brands and company names on the trailers are fictional for obvious reasons. There are mods to add real brands though.
    - This game is played by many actual truckers and most of them really like the realism, especially when it comes to the trucks' handling
    - You were indeed doing really well for a first parking job, a lot better than my first time lol
    When you start getting used to the game, you can immediately ruin all you learned, by taking jobs to the UK, where you obviously have to drive on the left side of the road and max allowed speeds are expressed in miles, rather than the kilometers you see on your dashboard and GPS screen.
    You saw the Euro map with some grey-coloured countries that don't have cities marked in them, you can get those by buying the DLC's. The countries in black on the map do not (yet) have DLC content available. I waited with buying those until they were on sale on steam, but truth be told, I never had to wait long for these to come on sale and I haven't regretted spending any of those €€€!!!
    One tip I wanted to give you is probably not necessary, but when you are saving up for your first owned truck, avoid the IVECO trucks. They're cheap, but for obvious reasons. Even after fully upgrading the engine, drive train and gearbox, it still didn't measure up. My second truck was a Volvo, which I'm still rocking now, and that one does really well, even for the heaviest loads in mountainous areas. I hired a second driver and had them mostly do shorter jobs around the Dutch flatlands, where my primary garage is.

    Welcome to the Virtual trucking world Ian, I'm a retired IRL trucker and 10 year ETS2 veteran. Well done on your first go. There are lots of map DLC available so you can go around the grey areas of Europe. Once you have all those you could install Promods, Promods offer a more detailed map with option like the middle east added. I would recommend using a steering wheel (one that has 900° rotation) and maybe a shifter, then an eaton fuller extension (SKRS) and then you really have max realism.

    A few years back, a car did to me the same thing you did to the white car. My car was only 1 month old. That roundabout exit from the inner lane happens from time to time.

  • @SidneyKenson
    @SidneyKenson ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You're not only not supposed to exit the roundabout from the inside lane, but are supposed to use the turn signal when exiting it. No signal on entering it, but let others know where you want to get out.
    And don't worry too much about hickups at the beginning, everybody had those.
    In most European country on a multi-lane-road you are supposed to be in the most right lane, if you're not about to overtake somebody.
    And no right turn on red in Europe. You really need to look at the navigation display sometimes to find where a certain delivery point actually is.
    That beeping noise was the air pressure system. Basically everything in the truck runs pneumatic. Gearbox, brakes, seat, suspension, you name it. Under a certain pressure it warns you and maybe even blocks the brakes and you don't move an inch. You can turn it off in the settings, Gameplay -> Realistic Brake system.
    Reversing that trailer into that gap really looked good, I'm slightly impressed you did so well. But be warned, you'll haul a lot of different stuff into a lot of different places, and when you have a low-bed with an excavator and try to reverse that into a gap no 5 inches on each side to spare, *that* will be the tricky ones.

    • @dbclass4075
      @dbclass4075 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could be worse: when that low bed was extended.
      Regarding the right-lane rule, that matters less in cities when the speed limit is low and especially when about to turn left.

By the time the second loan option becomes available, you can loan 100k and pay off two 50k loans if you wish to save on interest. as far as i remember, the game also has a lot less rest/tank stops available than there are in reality, and hundreds of Autobahn exits are missing that would allow to rest/fuelup in the next village. getting fatigue warning or running low on fuel is no fun when the next one is far away in the game, or would require to do a detour of several hours (tank/rest quickly, but without option to immediately turn around afterwards) which messes up your schedule.

    I'm SO glad to see you play this game! I absolutely love it and I think there are a few things that might make playing the game more enjoyable for you in the future:
    1) Until you have your own truck, I'd suggest switching to realistic automatic. These trucks usually have 12 gears - changing them is just tedious. Once you have your own truck, you can install a kind of "cheat transmission" which gives you 6 gears and artificially increases the torque. That works great for a conventional H-shifter.
    2) That beeping you heard was indeed an alarm indicating low pressure in pneumatic brakes system. Every time you depress and press the brakes, the pressure goes lower and will have to be built up by the engine. So avoid "abusing" the brakes. Look at your settings - you can use engine braking or the retarder to lower the frequency of brake usage. If the pressure gets too low, the brakes lock and you can't drive. If you don't want to deal with that, turn off realistic pneumatic brakes in the game settings.
    3) While red light rules differ between countries (eg. IRL in Poland you can turn right on red if there is a green arrow indicator), the game will always fine you for turning right on red (unless you turn offenses off in the settings)
    4) When you take your jobs, it's a good idea to do little detours. Try to investigate the question marks on the map. Some of those are dealerships, which will allow you to buy your own truck.
    5) Don't be surprised that your truck won't go faster than 90 km/h (around 50mph, I believe). That's the maximum legal speed for trucks in Europe and trucks have speed limiters installed in them. if you feel like having a bit of fun, you can turn the speed limiter off in the settings.
    6) The roads in the stock part of the game are... not very realistic. There are some weird road design choices going on and in general the roads in countries like the UK, France, Germany, western Poland etc. don't really look like they do in real life (sometimes even the lines on the road are completely wrong). The DLC parts of the map received much more love and the road actually look pretty good there. Anyway, watch out for outside lanes that for some reason suddenly turn into off-ramps without much warning, which doesn't really happen in real life.
    That's everything that comes to my mind. Have lots of fun and happy trucking!

    The low pressure warning comes up if you use your brakes more than needed. Eventually your parking brake will just stay on due to low pressure. Just sit still (gear on neutral preferrably), rev the engine up so the compressor can rebuild the pressure. Trucker from Finland giving some pro tips. ;)

    The reversing was quite okay...until you lost all the air XD
    to build up pressure you just either have to wait, or rev the engine a bit in neutral...in your case was the problem, that probably pressed the brake too many times on the controller, I guess with full force, and simply emptied all the air.
    Also I suggest to get in all the available map DLCs, that extends the playground onto the whole grey aera.

    Nice that you're playing this game, it's a lot of fun. I also love how American Truck Sim allows me to get a feel for America without having to go there, so I hope Euro Truck Sim 2 will do the same for you! I'd advise you to turn off the realistic air brake system. Yes, it might add an additional bit of realism, but the air pressure runs out very quickly and then you have to wait for an annoyingly long time for it to refill. It's just not great in a game, I feel like.
    And no, right turn on red is not a thing in Europe, or only at certain specific traffic lights. Some have a green arrow pointing to the right (not sure if that is represented in the game, though), and then you can turn right on red, but usually you can't.
    And I don't know how that feels to you, but for me a sequential shift is not great playing on keyboard or controller. I'd love to have it with a steering wheel and pedals, but the controls on keyboard feel weird to me (might just be me, though, so certainly try what fits best for you!).
    And the of the gray areas, only the ones with dots (cities) in them are currently available. The others come as paid extra content (DLCs). If you're having fun with the game, I can advise buying some specific areas that you may want to visit in the future, they're often quite good. Especially the central European parts are all slowly getting updates and remakes on the map, as they're the oldest parts of the map in-game and the developers have improved a lot over the years. These parts of the map are often not really up to date at the moment. Austria for example just got a rework, and they're currently reworking Switzerland and parts of Germany. So they're slowly reworking all these old base game areas (for free) to bring them up to date with current standards in the games, as some of the newer expansions are much more detailed. Also, they're currently developing another map expansion for the Western Balkans (that black area you pointed out).
    Have fun with the game!

  • @larsjohansen821
    @larsjohansen821 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was good fun to watch. Not bad for your first time. The names on the trailer, petrol(gas) stations ect. are in-game only, but there are mods to get real life names. If you got the game via steam you can also find a lot of mods there. There are also map mods to cover more of Europe, but if you get those make sure you read the description as they may require you to have map DLC's. The map DLC's tend to come out 1-2 times per year and typically cost around 12-18 euros depending on the size. When they are released there are typically also community missions that you can do to earn extra stuff, this be interior stuff usually. You can also sometimes get the map DLC's on sale though i usually buy them upon release. Whenever a new map is released SCS tend to have a stream where they give away at least one code for the DLC. If this game and driving simulators/racing games generally is something you will do more off, then i strongly recommend getting a wheel. It will help you so much and make the driving so much easier. As you say though most newer European trucks have automatic transmissions such as the Volvo Ispeed system i think it's called. When i was driving it was primarily manual shifts and the most gears i personally have ever encountered in one was i think 12 or 18 speed. I think they go up to 24 speed or maybe higher even. They would have high and low and some also a split on the side of the shifter.

If you want lots of good cargos, go somewhere central, like Germany, Belgium, France. Buy a garage and start unlocking trucks. If you like the game, buy all the map expansions, they are awesome. One caveat about Promods: For that to run, you need all available map DLCs, whereas IWrocker's game seems to be pretty much vanilla, at this point.

      basic info: before dlc and mods, the grey countries only show what might become available with all the dlc, and the marked starting locations give a better picture of what is available with the current version (plus dlc) that someone has installed. areas near the borders of the installed map (eg northern italy) probably are also only some main routes with not too many smaller connection roads, other details and towns. thus his joy of seeing _"so many countries you can drive to"_ was a bit premature while he only has the vanilla game. it is still a gigantic area to spend hours, days, weeks and months driving around and trying to turn every si gle small road orange to mark them "i was here" :-)

    1st exit (right) - right lane on entry→outer lane→exit
    2nd exit (straight) - right lane on entry→outer lane→exit
    3nd exit (left) - left lane on entry→inner lane→outer lane (around 2nd exit)→exit
    It is illegal to exit from inner lane in most countries, excluding the roundabouts that tell you that it is possible to do so.

    That's what happens on airbrake vehicle s, loss of air pressure if you tend to misuse the brakes as if you're driving a hydraulic brake small car, each time you depressed the brake pedal air is forced from the reservoir to the brake booster cylinders and unlike hydraulic systems where the fluid remains inside, the air escapes on air vehicles thus has to be constantly resupplied from the master reservoir which will get depleted and thats why the truck was beeping, now to refill it, you just let it idle up and it will stop beeping once it's full or another trick most drivers use is setting it in neutral and reving it slightly higher than idle to fill it up faster, the brakes will release and you can move again

    I'm gonna give some background infos I think you should know....
    You decided to start the game from Prague, which has been been built 10 years ago, the most recent map instead is Iberia (Spain and Portugal) released in 2021 I believe, so all the environment has next Gen graphic, lots of more details, places looks more realistic overall....
    Of course the oldest the map you are driving on the game the less realistic is gonna feel
    I've being buying every dlc over time and being playing the game since it release in 2012, a lot has changed.
    In 2014 i think they released Scandinavia dlc (Part of Norway, Denmark and part of Sweden) in 2015 Vive la france that added the whole of France (chat correct me if I'm not saying the date well lot of time has past XD I'm going through my personal buying time line that I believe is the same of the release dates of the various dlc)
    2016 Italia dlc (the whole of Italy) 2017 Sardinia has been added with a free dlc to Italy 2018 Beyond the Baltic Sea (Part of Finland, little bit of Russia, Lituania, Latvia and Estonia)
    2019 i don't remember the name of this actually but it added Romania, Bulgaria and part of turkey
    In 2020 the basic part of France (of the basic game with no dlc) and some German highways buillt in the basic game in 2012 received a new modern look with a rebuild that added the next Gen graphic I was talking about to those places...
    2021 Iberia (Spain and Portugal)
    2022 Austria has been rebuilt with next Gen graphic with a free update
    2023 more German highways and some German cities have been rebuilt with next Gen graphic and details
    The still "old Gen graphic" places of the game still looking not so realistic like the other places are:
    UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Poland, Slovakia, Chekia (former Chezk republic) where you started, and Hungary, hopefully these places will receive a new look like the rest of the map soon, next dlcs coming up are Croatia, Slovenia, Albania and then another dlc that supposed to be released in 2022 but for obvious reasons is been delayed, is "heart of Russia dlc" that add part of Russia all the way to Moscow.
    Also the software house scs has confirmed they are currently working on the development of a new dlc with the north part of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
    Hope I helped you with this little recap ❤ greetings from Italy.
    P.S. In the basic game you can play with your friends or find convoys in some online forums but the real multiplayer side of the game, like the REAL DEAL the DEFINITIVE multilayer of the game is a mod called Truckers MP.
    Truckers MP allow you to play up to 4000 players online in the same moment ON THE SAME MAP yes, you got that right, up to 4k players playing on the same godamm map..
    Considered the map with all dlcs goes from Atlantic Ocean all the way east to Black Sea in turkey and Romania.... Of course all these players are not in the same spot, but if you go around Calais (the city where you take the ferry boat from France to UK) everyday there are real proper real life looking traffic jams with cars and trucks all over the place stock in traffic like they would be in real life, all these trucks and cars being real life players of course... That's insane
    P.P.S. Get a steering wheel asap, it add a whole difference experience to the game.

    Respect for shouting out the RL truckers and by default the brakes are essentially always on. That wasn't bad at all for a beginner. You did alright there. Some driving tips: 1. Especially on right turns you need to go wide due to the length of the trailer. Sometimes I use both lanes when entering and inside small roundabouts to avoid having vehicles on my side. (For obvious reasons) 2. You probably want to get off the gas much earlier when approaching roundabouts, traffic lights, intersections etc. You can then use the brakes to match the speed of other traffic, so you can enter without having to come to a complete stop. 3. Use automatic shifting. That's what everybody does, unless there's a reason to go manual. - Have fun! :)

  • @saulbttf31
    @saulbttf31 ปีที่แล้ว

    Keep in mind that european trucks use air for the automated manual, so every time you shift you are using some of the air pressure, when you got locked up parking every time you were about to have enough pressure to unlock the brakes you used it getting the truck in and out of gear, if you check on the cluster you can see the air pressure of the tanks, pretty funny either way and I'm glad you liked driving these trucks

  • @paulgee1355
    @paulgee1355 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi ian. Im a UK truck driver with thirty years behind the wheel of articulated trucks, just like the one you've been driving here. In this country trucks are separated into different classes, the artics (articulated trucks) are class one and the rigids (4 and 8 wheelers without trailers) are class two. We have rigids that pull trailers, they are often known as wagon and drag and when a rigid is connected to a trailer it becomes a class one vehicle and requires the appropriate licence.
    Anyway, what prompted me to comment was your surprise at just how much more manoeuvrable cabover trucks are compared to the American style with the nose. I've only ever travelled in the American style trucks a couple of times and only ever as a passenger thanks to needing recovery. For some reason, a lot of truck recovery vehicles here have the American style cabs that sit behind the engine, i dont know why but if you do see that style of cab in the UK it's usually a heavy recovery truck.
    The thing about manoeuvrability is that I've always thought American trucks must be a bit of a nightmare for that reason. Being used to being able to turn in and fit into some tight spaces that, even these days, still surprise me i think it must be a lot different in the nose style cabs and, sometimes, even impossible. I've seen loads of American trucks on TV and in videos and photos and they look so long and, sorry to say, a bit unnecessary.
    I, also, always think that it can't be easy, in traffic jams for example, to see how close you are to the car, or motorcycle, in front of you and how easy it would be to not see a pedestrian crossing the road right in front of you.
    American trucks do look cool, mostly, there are some real shitboxes, but for practicality (and, often, power) you're right, eurotrucks win, hands down. It probably doesnt matter as much in the US though as you seem to have so much space over there, certainly enough to accommodate the trucks you use, easily.

    aparently i never had drained brake presure that much and didn't even knew what that could even happen ingame.
    i have bit more than 400 hours in euro truck sim 2

    Sorry I missed this until now, and I hope you're still having fun with the game! I was hoping you had put up more content for it on your youtube channel but I didn't see anything...
    A few things about the game that it won't tell you up front, that you may want to be aware of.
    1 - there are a ton of realistic assists available straight up in the game that you might want to make use of. For one, there's a voice navigation option with a couple of different optional voices, and one of the mods on Steam has a whole set of additional voices. That might help reduce embarrassing accidents with driving into the wrong yard. :) Some of the other assists that were added really recently are Adaptive Cruise Control (which automatically keeps the distance to the vehicle in front above a target number, very helpful when you're driving on a highway with elevation differences); and Emergency Brake Assist (which will stop your vehicle if there's an obstacle). In the very latest added trucks there's also a blindspot warning and possibly lane keeping assist.
    2 - most highway trucks in Europe typically run automated manual gearboxes - it's a real gearbox, the truck just does the shifting for you unless you say otherwise. In manual mode, you use the control "Gear shift up" to shift from reverse to neutral to 1st to 2nd etc, and "gear shift down" to shift from 2nd to 1st to neutral to reverse. In Automatic mode, you use those same controls to go from reverse to neutral to forward and vice versa, but you can still instruct the gearbox to shift by using the control "gear shift hint up and down". I drive on an Xbox controller, and I've set it up so that D-pad up and down are gear shift up and down, and left thumbstick up and down are Gear shift hint up and down, as they're otherwise unassigned. (throttle is right trigger and brake is left). This way I can make sure the truck is in the gear *I* want even when the truck thinks otherwise, without having to worry about manually shifting under most circumstances.
    3 - On the map, the gray areas are the countries where the *full* game map extends to if you've bought all the DLC, but you only get city dots for the areas you've actually bought. With the relevant DLC, you can indeed drive all the way to Spain and Portugal in the southwest, to Turkey in the southeast, to Finland (but only partway up) in the northeast, and halfway up Norway in the Northwest. The next DLC slated for release is the Balkans (basically everything except Greece), and the one we suspect will be next after that will be the rest of northern Scandinavia.
    4 - You may have noticed already, but your first drive in the game will always be the truck you picked as your preferred truck during profile creation, and it will always be maxed out. It will take quite a while before you're able to buy a truck just like that though because horsepower and stuff is limited by your level. If it's still relevant to you after three weeks of playing off screen, I would suggest staying in "loaner" trucks for a bit to get a feel for what the different brands are like while building up your level and you bank account.
    5 - Just because the part is more expensive doesn't always mean it's better. This goes especially for chassis - unless you're planning on hauling special transports (which is a mission type requiring a DLC) or heavy cargo (which is also a DLC), you'll never need a 6x4 or 8x4 chassis. And while having 700+ horsepower to play with is fun, it's sort of overkill, and wanting the biggest engine will keep you from trying some of the nicer to drive "normal" trucks out there.
    6 - the modding community for the game is nuts, and there's a ton of excellent mods out there that will allow you to customize your truck or improve the visual fidelity by a bunch. Bear in mind though that the game gets updated very regularly and many mods break when a patch comes along. Be careful when you select which mods to put in your game.

    This was a fun and entertaining video! It looked fun and now I'm interested in trying ETS out. I play a lot of video games, but for some reason I haven't played this. 20 euros on Steam is not bad for hundreds of hours of gameplay.

      @@darek4488 if it is a lit arrow, it is part of the traffic light.
      the "right on red" he was talking about is similar (but the opposite) of the unlit green arrow traffic sign in germany: in the usa they usually have a "right on red allowed" rule unless a sign says "no right on red", while we have a general "red always means red" rule unless permitted by an extra unlit "right green arrow" traffic sign next to the traffic lights (but NOT part of traffic lights, and to be treated as a stop sign for those who chose to turn right on red)

    Hello,
    2 friends of mine, both truck drivers in real life, have been playing ETS for years. Both of them love ETS and also ATS.
    According to their statement, the companies are "almost" correct. Letters were turned around or the real name got a small change.
    But the landscapes and the streets should be real.
    As far as I can remember, new countries kept coming. It also had something to do with the level.
    ETS seems extremely realistic.
    There are driving times that have to be observed, violations of the road traffic regulations were also punished as in real life.
    Greetings from Germany

    Hey Ian, I was so happy to hear you're interested in this and your first episode had all the classics:
    -oh crap, gotta set up my buttons
    -I pulled out of that lot kinda smooth

    -whoops, didn't see that family there.. welp
    If you feel like reviving the gaming channel, what other games would you imagine doing besides ETS?

  • @That_Bot_6252
    @That_Bot_6252 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome video and I'm really happy to see you try ETS2 out. Ngl tho the company name caught me of guard lol
    As a fellow Scania S730 user, I'll share with you some useful (probably) info:
    On the screen between the RPM and Speed gauges (the one that you saw the scania logo pop up on) it has 3 green bars. The top 2 indicate the air pressure on the truck and the trailer (both are basically the same) and the third bar is the oil pressure (I think. You don't need it though.). All I can recommend to you is to relax. Since you have more experience than me in driving, you have probably thought of it already, but take advantage of the controler... pedal... things(?). A bit of pressure on the brake pedal is enough to do the job.
    Also, try to keep the RPM around 1300-1500 bc it's more efficient both in terms of torque and fuel economy.
    The gearbox you used has 12 speeds in total. You can start an unloaded truck on gear 5. You can start on lower gears if you are pulling a trailer (gear depends on weight ofc.). You can also skip a gear or to (e.g. 3-5-8-9). From gears 9-12 I recommend taking them one by one, since the have enough gear ratio difference thing (idk what to call it lol). Here's the perfect gears for cruising around (based on experience):
    50kph (31mph) - 9th gear
    50-60kph (31-37mph) - 10th gear
    60-80kph (43-50mph) - 11th gear
    80+kph (50+mph) - 12th gear
    Top speed is around 150-160 on a flat road. Max I've achieved while going downhill was 170 (23T load. Don't ask why -- idk myself).
    And one last thing, right turns on red lights are NOT legal in EU. You didn't get fined because the light turned green last moment (I saw the cars stopping.).
    Should you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'll be happy to help. Keep up the good work!

    Hey, annex, I did this Job in real life for about 33 years, rode europe-wide and took a great level of expirience from this. You have NO idea how hard it is to be a Truckdriver, abiding all the regulations which almost everytime make your life so so much harder. But I have to admit, without driving I would have missed the best expiriences of my life. Nevertheless I enjoy playing it virtually. AND! yeah, you should definitevely make a series from it. Looking forward for it.

I bought a steering wheel and a Stream Deck for short cut buttons. It's a simple game on the surface but has a lot of depth depending on how you want to play. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy it and it also looked like you were having a lot of fun with it. Have a wonderful and fantastic continues day, my good American friend.
