Cause a SINUS INFECTION in nose. Blew nose hard and ears popped. Went deaf in right ear. Infection cleared with antibiotics(amoxicillin)from hospital. Hearing returns. Now this EMOTIONAL STRESS OF NOISE. Tried MASKING NOISES by headphones. 4 hours a day. Bit of a relief. Annoyingly Noise comes back. Given up. Doctor gave “brain blocker signal medication” didnt work, instead caused MEMORY PROBLEMS. THREW POISON TABLETS in THE BIN thats were they belong. Hearing back to normal Phoned hospital and was told Still on ENT waiting list. 👎🏾. Appt due THIS Y E A R. No hope 4 us .
don’t lose hope! Mine was at a 10 six months ago and now it’s at a 1-2. I worked so hard to heal and get my stress down these past six months. Also talking to the audiologists at travel health was a big help. I have faith I will heal all the way.
I did go in Lexapro to help with the anxiety as well because I was so far gone I was crying all day every day because I was so tired and so much in fight or flight mode.
my stress induced tinnitus is fading currently. I listen to a lot of bird chirping and waves on the seashore. Also vibrator around the head area helps too.
I was exactly the same. My ear needed to be syringed due to wax build-up. Went to an experienced practitioner to have it vacuumed. I heard a loud popping noise and there after have had constant ringing in my ear. Its the worst thing I've ever done 😢
I started having tinitus 3 years ago after been very ill with a sinus infection. However, i also suffer from migraines and have issues with my neck muscles. It has gotten worse as the years past😢
Thank you ❤ My doctor tells me my sudden new / elevated tinnitus sounds (and hyperacusis and tensor tympani syndrome) is most likely stress (/anxiety and depression). I’ve somehow had a tough time believing her… in my head its like: Oh, noooo no no new tinnitus sound!! 😵💫😔 It is definitely caused by that one loud alarm for two seconds that went off in that store the other day or that loud BEEP from my new electric kick scooter OR that loud sound I accidentally made with my voice that time. This is definitely giving me a more nuanced understanding. ❤
Excellent compilation for anyone currently experiencing or who will experience tinnitus in the future. Makes it easier to understand why its so tricky to diagnose and requires patience to determine root cause. Thank you.
I'm so glad you found the compilation helpful in navigating the complexities of tinnitus. Understanding its nuances and the need for patience in identifying the root cause is crucial, and I appreciate your thoughtful acknowledgment. 💜
I just learned that people with Histamine or Salicylates intolerance can suffer from Tinnitus. I started have loud Tinnitus a year ago and after 3 months of having other strange symptoms I found out that I have Histamine, Oxalates and Salicylates intolerance. I hope I can get those intolerance under control and see if the Tinnitus goes away 🙏
That has happened to many people. I wonder what the mechanism of action is in these cases. I speculate that it might be some kind of muscle reflex that goes into a chronic dysfunctional state. Does your tinnitus change in any way or is it pretty much always the same? Also, what method was used to remove the wax?
My tinnitus is chronic non stop buzzing. Not sure what he used but I remember it was extremely uncomfortable. I vaguely remember hearing (no pun intended) a machine.
@@Christinalovescats1958 It's a shame ENT's do that knowing it can cause permanent tinnitus in some people. Is there any sound in the real world that is similar to how your tinnitus sounds? I'm curious because I see a lot of people describe their tinnitus as a buzzing sound but I'm not sure what they mean. Is it like the sound of a bug flying near your ear? Mine is high pitched ringing and other erratic shrill sounds, like microphone feedback and squealing car brakes, it's hideous.
I think my tinnitus is associated to stress since physical causes were ruled out through ENT ,hearing test and MRI. Can tinnitus go away once the stress anxiety issue is resolved ? I keep hearing that it will never go away .It's been almost a year since I noticed my tinnitus. When I first noticed it I was passing through multiple major stressors in my life. Some of the stressors have been resolved others not.
For those who have had tinnitus for a year, it tends to be permanent. Though stress can exacerbate your perception of it, it's important to be mindful of your mental health to help manage your tinnitus.
My T started a few weeks after a virus and a period of stress. I've lost high frequency hearing and not one second of silence since that time 12 years ago. 😞
Don’t lose hope. You will heal by loving yourself and really doing what you need to do to reduce your stress. Also I ended up calling treble health and doing sound therapy on my own and it helped me start sleeping again which we need to heal. A lot of deep breathing several times a day and telling myself I will get better was important.
My dear doctor Ben, thank you very much, what could be the cause of my tinntius? Because I listened to subliminal audios with headphones for more than 8 months every day, I do not have hearing loss but I did have a drop in the highest frequencies. I usually have it in the left ear but then it goes to the brain and changes to different tones. Sometimes it is bad loud and other times the sound is very low, but it is always sharp.
Mine started in my left ear only about 6 months ago after a month-long virus (maybe Covid?) that caused an ear infection in that ear. The severity varies between a 2 and 9.5 each day but consuming sodium and stress are the two consistent triggers I’ve found that make it WAY worse.
What could cause cyclical tinnitus? Comes back every 3 to 5 days and goes away back to 0 and then cycle continues. Days go like bad, mild, mild, good, bad.
I started using Goldenseal powder 3 times a day, put a little bit on your finger and sniff it up each nostril daily and I noticed a difference within 1 day.
Does high riding jugular bulb cause tinnitus?I have sinus issue from last one year now tinnitus in my left from 6 months. I got my CT temporal bone all else is fine except that it shows high riding jugular bulb
Love your videos, Dr! Question: Can Otitis Media with effusion cause (acute) Tinnitus? Is it possible for this tinnitus to clear up once the fluid in the inner ear is gone?
Otitis media with effusion can cause temporary tinnitus. In many cases, when OME resolves and the fluid is drained, the associated tinnitus may also improve or disappear.
It can, depending on the duration and dosage. There are so many different causes for tinnitus and often times, it's hard to pinpoint which factor caused it.
Similasan Ear Ringing Remedy, a 7 dollar product, reduced my ringing by 95%..... but the question is why? How does this stop the ringing for me if Tinnitus is in the brain?
It could be placebo effect. There aren't any supplements on the market that cure tinnitus. If you had wax in your ear and this helped to soften/remove the wax, that also could've helped your tinnitus.
I had a cerebella infarct stroke last June and it has left me with really bad, constant tinnitus 😢 I was told i had Labrynthitus so only found out i had had a stroke 3 month later. Is tinnitus common after a cereballa stroke?
Why do you not discuss viral infections and their impact on tinnitus, like COVID? My tinnitus started after my first COVID infection and returned after my second infection. Now have the flu or some other viral infection and lo and behold, it’s back
Hello. I want to let you know that we have a video dedicated to discussing the relationship between COVID and tinnitus. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/qd5xbc4y2ig/w-d-xo.html
My guess is if you had your eardrum removed you would still hear it ironically. But yes you are exactly right, everyday gets better. It’s OKAY to have it, it’s completely normal and lots of others do as well. Super common.

Noise Damage is a high risk factor, and micro suction for wax removal did it for me.

SAME, usually in left, then transfers to the brain. Does it ever let up? Also, hearing loss, i got mild to moderate one. What about yours?
