    Started dancing around a year ago. Not seriously but just a few kpop songs I learned the dances too. Fast forward to now, still sloppy but I have better control:) I’m actually very good at body rolls and pops. But I injured my ankle 🥲 so I can’t really dance. I wanna share my experience too .. i started dancing like 5 years ago and I never had a dancing routine I would try to learn and try to pick up coreos kpop especially I wasn't a good dancer then I often get upset and disappointed and I'm so happy I'm a better dancer now I worked hard .. i was shy so I never showed my process to anyone and secretly practiced myself even after midnight .. I'm so proud of myself now as I look back to the me 5 years ago I've gained confidence ... this was long but all I wanna say is that never ever lose what you love ..work for it evenif it takes lot of time do not quit your passion .. wait for the right time till all you hard work shows

    I've been dancing since I can remember.
    But I don't know if I'm expert good because I don't attend dance lessons and stuff.
    I just mainly dance for fun.
    But all my friends tell me I'm really good and back in high school when we had special events and they asked classes to present performances I was always in my class dance team and I got praised a lot, so I can say I'm good (not being proud or anything).
    I'm currently 16, and seeing your video gave me motivation.
    So I'm going to practice more, work on my stamina, sharpen my moves and begin to upload videos.
    Thanks for being a motivation😊

      I definitely feel you. All my friends told me that I was good at dancing, but after I got to know more dance friends, I realized that I was not good at all. Most people don’t know how to dance at all, so anyone who dances seems good already, but dancing isn’t just about moving your body, it’s also about sharpness, body control, facial expressions, attitude, etc. Even if someone masters all of these, there are also a lot of different dance style, which is really fun to learn. There is always more to learn & improve.
      Looking forward to your dance videos!

    I've been dancing for 11 years now (started at 4) and honestly, I feel so good knowing that I started at a very young age. I've improved a lot since when I was a kid I've been taught to develop my own technique and learnt the basics very quickly. I started dancing ballet and after that, jazz. This was the time when I still had classes with dance mentors. After 2018, I started learning by myself. It was a very hard time cause I used to dance ballet and jazz and not hip hop-like dancing styles. But after I got used to it, it was a very amazing experience. I was able to not only do classic dance but also hip hop. And until today, I still have so much fun dancing, and is one of my favorite activities~

      I’m no longer in a dance group, but I found my previous dance group through a dance workshop. I heard they needed new members so I auditioned with them. You can probably find one by searching “dance group in your area” (eg. Dance group Seattle) on Facebook/TH-cam/IG and then message them to see if they need more members.
      Being part of the dance group is a lot of work though FYI. You will need to spend a lot of time polishing your dance, remembering formations etc.

I started learning the dances (it was reaaaally hard TBH) the more I learned them the more i became better, in middle school there was a school party at the end of 2021. They put music in the class and I danced to them (mostly bp) everyone was applauding at me. Like everyone was recording. Now I became almost like a lead dancer skills or a bit less. II can see that you are really improving based on your stiffness and body expression. Try to be more confident, you do it great!! I say this because I started dancing when I was 9, and I joined my school dance club but I quit the club. It's just that this teacher is very biased with someone who is beautiful and slim, and yeaa she calls me fat. But that doesn’t mean I stopped dancing, I continued with self -study at home and now, I dance better than she didn’t think I couldn’t. Fighting

    Hey thank you for sharing this journey to us . Keep dancing it is a continue process. All good dancers now started from day 1 also remember that. Maybe try to differentiate big and small movements especially the arms. And also you mention that you have hard time controlling your back, maybe find a dance that focus on that. Sometimes also you hesitate to move or maybe I can sense shyness. But actually you are more confident now. Keep doing what you love.
    P. S. I also dance as my hobby because I enjoy it .

    Unknown to most, I’ve been dancing since I was 3, but I only recently started seeing progress in myself. If you told me I’d improved since I was 10 like 3 months ago, I would’ve been like “whaat?” but now I think I can see it a bit. Before I was a bit more focused on putting out the right energy every time, so the moves were sloppy but it fit the music. I didn’t focus much on the details needless to say, and I wasn’t in sync with the other members or the music. Now I start prioritizing the details, because I know that I can put out the right energy when the time comes, so my moves are much cleaner and less stiff. :)

      “Exercise” - you meant dances? If you are asking about the dances for beginners, here is my reply to another comment: “Which song should you start with: I’d suggest start with something simple like IU’s song (eg.bbibbi),some of the bts dances (easy ones like “butter”) or some of twice’s dances (eg. What is love). You can watch their dances and see which one you like. There are a lot of tutorials. I recommend “Ellen and Brian” and “kathleen carm”, but you can probably just find the tutorial by searching for “song name tutorial”.
      Regarding dance tips: there are TONS OF tips, but for complete beginners, try comparing yourself with the original dance video side by side to see what is lacking (eg. Doesn’t hit the beat, moves are sloppy, facials doesn’t much songs vibe etc). Good luck!”

    progress was great. I am not in the position to judge because i'm just a student but your moves were still a bit stiff and akward. can be better with your timing too! I started dancing on my own without a trainer at the age of 6 and now im 13 and the progress is slightly equivelent to yours but ofcs bigger diff cuz of longer time trainning. No hates!! Good job!🥰

    I d say if u went to studio almsot full week, would require 3 years less. I learned all the base in a year when I was at school about 12 years ago. Aside from stiffness, it's really easy to improve even now. Base is for life.

      @HuanOfaKind  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How to find a dance group: I found my previous dance group through a workshop. Going to dance classes/workshops can def help you find more dance friends (you will have to be an extrovert and talk to people, instead of just leaving the class without talking to anyone 😅).
      How to find space to practice: I usually practice in the gym/yoga studio room in the gym. Sometimes I just practice in my living room. If you can’t do that, maybe try making some dance friends and see if they have places to practice. Usually people are happy to practice with you because dancing by yourself is lonely. Good luck!

    im having a really hard time to memorise a choreo. can you give me some advise?

    • @HuanOfaKind
      @HuanOfaKind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1. Focus on learning basic moves. Just like learning a language, you start with ABCD->words->sentences->slangs, the basic moves (eg. Chest roll, hip roll) are like ABCD. Jumping to learn sentences (aka learning a dance choreo, which is what I did and I kinda regretted) could be fun, but it also makes it very difficult to remember/absorb what you learn. Once you are extremely familiar with the dance moves, you will find yourself memorize a choreo much faster.
      2. Listen to the music. Understand how the moves match to the music.
      3. Practice and time. Once you are familiar with basic moves, and learn more and more dance, you will find similarities among different dances. This can help you memorize future dances.
      Even though I’ve been dancing for a while and i remember choreo much better than before, I still find myself much slower than other people in dance classes. Remember to compare your progress with yourself instead with other people. Other people might spend 10x more time practicing. Even in the last dance I showed in this video, I spent a few weeks learning the dance & months polishing. My point is you are not alone! Keep practicing and you will see the result!
