    Lewis will win at least 5 races this year. The next half of season has his strongest tracks. If his confidence is back I won’t be surprised if he wins 8+, only if Merc is at least 1 tenth off the speed of the fastest car.

    Not a fan of Hamilton by any stretch of the word, but I enjoyed this win more than anything he's ever done. His home GP, 2 and a half season of frustration, an exciting and hard fought race, the tears, the emotion... It was perfect. Very happy for him !

      They don't. Lots of chat about all the front-running teams, and every driver who drives for them individually, except for the guy who won. And not only won, but drove exceptionally well. He pulled six seconds on Norris on those softs. And not only won by driving exceptionally well but set new records for most wins, most podiums, first driver to win after his 300th start, first driver to win in 16 seasons, first driver to take 15 podiums at the same race, and most wins at a single circuit.
      These are the kinds of things you think might have been mentioned, given both the fact of them and the title of the video. Apparently not, though... 🤷‍♂

    What impact do you think RedBull's penalty for breaking the budget cap during the 2021 season may be having on this season? I seem to recall a lot of folks being unhappy, saying the penalty, which wasn't issued until late in 2022, wasn't going to have any real impact on the 2023 car. Are we seeing that penalty finally rearing its head this season? Just curious.

    • @scottmeredith3359
      @scottmeredith3359 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The fact you’re seeing a phenomenal season and Redbull running a one car team and still ask about the cost cap penalty says a lot.

    • @Franky46Boy
      @Franky46Boy หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cost cap has nothing to do with it.
      For the time being Red Bull has hit a development ceiling.

    • @shu6037

      correct question would be:
      what was the impact of redbulls breaking the cap and getting away with it on previous seasons?

    Hello, Can we truly see value in Nico Hulkenberg's British GP race. After all finishing a race sixth, when you were sixth on the grid is nothing better than conserving a ranking.

    • @JLgG2454

      @@shu6037 typically, top dogs, as you suggest, are the drivers that are classified in front of the driver who defends the sixth place in any race. Another point that suggests that the top dogs were in front sits precisely that those who drove behind Hulkenberg' were never capable of passing him albeit the fact that they had 42laps to do so.

    I think we are very fast ( and unjustly ) to judge these teams .... Mercedes, Ferrari, WIlliams most notable amongst them. All 3 are busy rebuilding. Mclaren has been at it now for a nummber of years and their personnel turnover has been phenomenal. Mercedes has lost many people and is busy rebuilding as has Williams. It is all a cycle and this has been going on at F1 for donkeys years. Aston are new but building and Alpine have taken a dive recently too. The carrousel of personnel is never ending in F1 and in so doing the pendulum moves from one end to another. HAAS is getting moving again and soon we will see Audi on the grid. It is all part of the fruit salad that is F1, someting I have witnessed now for nigh on 50 years.

      Agreed, people say they have the best car but I'd say it's close with Red Bull and will change track by track.
      Now the things that will make the difference is car set up, the driver and strategy.
      Car set up they seem to have a very slight edge over Red Bull, they seem to have a bigger set up window.
      Driver, whilst Max is better, McLaren has two who are close and make up the difference.
      Strategy is making the biggest difference. McLaren half the time are fucking up with at least one driver so it becomes a 1v1 and which Max will win.

    That was a heartwarming race finish to watch, but I can’t get over the contrast in the reporting from the F1 media last week to the unabashed, nationalist, partisan coverage after this week.
    Edit:
    I do have to give these guys credit for being 100% more fair and circumspect than Alex and Ben are.

    The bit about Perez is absurd.
    His lack of confidence has nothing to do with his driving? It's all the management's fault?
    Maybe he should stop being terrible. Gimme a break, he's been given a huge paycheck and plenty of cuddles even though he's not been showing much performance since 2022. A leading team in F1 isn't a safe space for the weak, it's a high pressure environment, period.

    Classic HAM, others make mistakes, misfortune befalls rivals, no late flags near the end. Much ado about nothing. Add the unnecessary water works, and you get Princess Ham-a-lot. Far more other drivers have toiled in much more challenging cars/teams and have won.
