Hansa Park Review, Northern Germany Theme Park | Former Legoland

  • Hansa Park is arguably the weirdest theme park in Germany, but it's a great one! This park features some extreme coasters from Gerstlauer, including the one-of-a-kind Schwur des Karnan. The park also has a robust non-coaster lineup, awesome landscaping, and underrated theming. And it interestingly used to be a Legoland park.

This review is spot on! I visited Hansa Park a while back and absolutely loved it. Not sure if you know, but the entrance to Hansa Park is a replica of the Holstentor (15th century) city gate to the nearby city of Lübeck. Lübeck shouldn't be ignored, as it is a historically significant Hanseatic League city that is also know for marzipan. Going to Lübeck was significant to me as a marzipan lover.

I love the entrance, as it shows architecture from Hanseatic League cities. The entrance building resembles the iconic Holsten gate from nearby Lübeck, so it's not really a castle. In real life it is more leaning than the leaning tower of Pisa!

I loved this park! Perhaps I got lucky and went on an off day. I was able to hit every major coaster a handful of times and I was only there from open to maybe 2pm. Your review is completely spot on about this great park. If I went with a family and didn't have the aggressive agenda that I have when I'm alone at these parks, then I would definitley spend a much more relaxing entire day there. I look forward to seeing what this park does in the future, and can't wait to get back one day.

If the park is busy, that could be tough. Novgorod has had a 40-60 min wait in my visits. Karnan was 20-30 min my first visit and 50-60 min this time. Do not miss these two. Then the others (except Nessie) could have half hour waits if busy too. Prioritize Nessie as well (short wait).

@@Joemama.. Hansa Park is most busy during summer holidays time, and weekends. so if you can you should take a day between Monday and Friday in spring or late summer.
In Autumn they have an event, called "Herbstzauber", which translates into "magic of autumn".
So this also might be a bad period to visit the park. This event takes place the last 2 weeks of October. The park stays open to 9pm, most rides to 8:30 pm, allowing for amazin night rides. Only downside: Kärnan closes 1h earlier, so if you wanna get a nightride, make sure you get in line in time. The reason for that, they need to close it for preparation of the fireworks show, they conclude every day with, during that event. Anyways, if you dont have much time avoid that event xD

I know that at all the major American parks they have some sort of pass that ever allows you to reserve a virtual queue return time based on the posted wait time of the standby line or allows you to skip the line for free only for those who have disabilities such as autism. The best example of what I’m talking about is DAS at the Disney Parks. I am one of those people who have autism and I qualify for those systems and they’re available at all major North American theme parks. I’m worried that parks like Hansa Park and Efteling don’t offer those kinds of systems. I know that the Merlin parks in Europe offer them, but do these other major Europe parks offer them as well?
