    Thanks as always for the interesting video. I’m not an installer or plumber of any description but I find it interesting nevertheless.

    Thanks for posting this as I'm trying to get the most efficiency out of my system, so very interested in how effective these are at actually balancing a working system in the winter, my first impressions are that they simply reduce the valves 'limit of travel' by a pre-set amount based on a rough calculation of a few parameters, no more technical than a partial turn of the lock-shield valve.
    If the adjustment for balancing was variable based on the systems dynamics, then it could justify being called auto balancing, but I think this products descriptor is a bit of a stretch.

    Like the video Would be good to know the results after the valves have been fitted. Got a question for you all. I see towel radiators being hung both ways. Who thinks the towel radiator to be hung the other way not meaning sideways but upside down or upside up?

    Fitted loads of these on a site, I was on. Word of warning the drain off comes open, which i found out when filling the Sales Centre up.

    I can't seem to find them listed for sale anywhere....... Also is there a 10mm version?
    Didn't Drayton also release an Auto Balancing TRV in 2022?

    Doesn't Bi-directional mean these TRV's can have the water flow in either direction ?
    I prefer on return as cooler and horizontal for improved air flow.

    And with these is it best to use the fixed or modulating setting on a pump like a Grundfos ups3 ? All that sort of stuff seems a bit of a dark art to me 🤷‍♂️ some content on this would be very useful, thanks 🙏

      I have never put one that way I would put them looking up or horizontal but I guess they would still work but it’s something I would never consider doing.

      It was just a bit of bad editing I removed me waffling but also took out me explaining it wasn’t a multi column but I was covering all the rads in the app so you are correct it’s not a multi column rad

      Thanks for clarifying, I’ve bought the Honeywell Kombi-TRV V2100 valves, just fitted them, I also observed that you went for 55 inlet temp and 45 outlet, is that a goal in terms cost efficiency? I currently set mine to 70 / 50

  • @theplumber4934
    @theplumber4934 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Derek The radiators are definitely Steel Panel not Multi column, so maybe recheck what the app says for steel panel type 22 They are also double panel convectors not "Double Double convectors", also the Trv is designed to go on either flow or return that is why they are bi directional, The towel rail is still 600mm high x 1000mm wide as you can't fit a towel rail horizontal because the towels would fall off. This is not your best video Derek

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the first part of your comment and I do say that in the video but for the towel rad as you could see in the video it is a horizontal towel rad nor vertical also radiators can be double panel single convectors or double panel double convectors. Sorry you think this is not my best video I will try harder next time

    • @theplumber4934
      @theplumber4934 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomkatgastrainingThanks for your prompt reply Derek, I now understand what you mean by "Double Double" as with the whole of our industry it's probably a regional thing, we call it a Double convector (Type 22) or a single convector (type 11) and a type 21 for double with 1 convector. Cheers👍

      @tomkatgastraining  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theplumber4934 you can’t believe we live in the same country can you 😂 in the video I was trying to show how to use all parts of the app not just the steel panel part I took out the bit where I explained that the rad wasn’t a column one but well done for spotting it 😂

    Pro tip. You can't powerflush a system with auto balance TRVs

    • @tomkatgastraining

    • @randomcamerajunk6977

      @@tomkatgastraining yes even 6 will probably have a flow limit - though I don't no for sure on these particular valves. We use imi valves and you do need to remove the insert to flush.
