@@DrawBioMed Jon, I think there's some confusion here. Can you elaborate a little on the "Ratio:1000" concept? Was it meant to scale down the size when making gene segments in illustrator? Kindly explain a bit through an example of one of the genes.
@@DrawBioMed That's a universal fact, Jon. But the confusion still persists, especially with the 360 degrees that you mentioned. Rather the calculation for the length of a gene segment (in its 1000 equivalents) is simple, Exon bp/Total bp = x/1000 Respective values of x to be used in creating proportional lengths of the line segments. 😄
I hadn't thought about using Excel, it was an excellent idea!! I really appreciate your work, thank you for sharing with us!!
Hadassa Loth my pleasure :D thank you for the suggestion.
Perfect!! Thank you so much!!! Very helpful!!!
Hey man. This is really great. Really appreciate you courage to share this with us.
Hi Erfan. It is my pleasure to share this with fellow scientists :) Many have told me they need to draw this for their review manuscript.
Thanks dude! Your tutorial are very helpful!
Glad they helped your research 😄
Very helpful, thanks for sharing your work.
devendra yadav cheers! Glad the tutorial helps you.
Keep up the good work!!!👌👌👌
Bro I'm just in a upper div genetics class but this is really cool. I don't even need to do this. I just watched the whole thing.

love your tutorials! could you make one for drawing an antibody?
Hi Maria, my pleasure! Sure, I will put anitbody into the production list :)
@@DrawBioMed looking forward to it, thanks :)
Hi Maria, the antibody tutorial is here th-cam.com/video/YkuGY0F7azs/w-d-xo.html . Thank you for the suggestion :)
Thank you
My pleasure :D
Your effort is greatly appreciated, the videos are really helpful! ^O^
My pleasure! Thank you for your kind feedback.
Thank youuu🥰
Pleasure :D Happy drawbiomed
Can I ask you how did you get the ratio please?
Hi Guillermo! This is the formula I use: 360 degrees*(exon base pairs)/(total plasmid base pairs).
@@DrawBioMed Thanks for the quick reply! So I have to divide all that by 1000?

@@kartiksomani970 A kilobase (kb) is a unit of measurement in molecular biology equal to 1000 base pairs of DNA or RNA.

Super
Can you please a tutorial using Inkscape to draw a plasmid? Inskscape is free but Adobe illustrator isn’t free. Thanks!
Hi Hannatu, I will put the topic in the next week’s poll. You can vote in the community tab on Fridays 🗳
