I totally agree with you that it can be a real challenge to get comfortable enough to create freely. This really is the best “art nest” set up. I’ve had so far. I didn’t show it in the video, but I have a special back pillow that I use behind my back and that blanket on the back of the chair is a heated lap throw. So it truly is like a little comfort nest. 🪺💝
Your art nest inspired me to make my own and it's been transformative. I got myself an amazing lap desk which tilts and comes with its own little draw for stationary. This also inspired me to make my own 'art station' which is sort of like those art carts you can store everything in, on wheels, so that no matter where I am in the house I can always take the mass of my mediums with me. As someone who is AuDHD I need to be able to see my mediums to be inspired and then grab them, anything hidden gets forgotten. So now I have my art station on wheels, and my lap desk, and it is SO GOOD. Thank you Linda!

I love your idea of having your art supplies in a cart where they’re visible at all times. I completely get that about needing to see your creative supplies. Alana - she was looking adorable, as always! I think the video quality looks great with the new camera. The strobing might be caused by the type of lighting that was used or maybe the shutter speed of the camera. You've adapted and pivoted really well with losing the footage and editing program you were using. I don't think I would've adapted so well. It's really a test of patience. The new art nest table looks fabulous! Bravo, Don, for putting that together for you. What a sweetheart!
Yes, the strobe issue is connected to shutter speed/lighting. Unfortunately, I still have not been able to get it to stop completely. I need to do more research about what settings to put this camera on. My phone doesn’t do it when I use it to film so I’ve gone back to using that until I figure things out. If I’m to be perfectly honest about it, I haven’t been dealing that well with the software issues. I have been so utterly stressed by this whole thing and losing all those videos is hitting me hard. I am really working on acceptance and patience this month lol. We also have some big things going on in our personal life that have been stressful, so this is apparently the month to learn lessons about remaining calm, practicing mindfulness, gratitude, and patience, etc. 🧘📿

Yeah, lol that’s quite a word. I would love to not edit my videos, but I have not found it possible. On the contrary, I found that they really need pretty extensive editing for quality. Good luck with your videos, it really is much harder than our audiences tend realize but it has a rewards too!
I feel Don’s pain. I put a work desk together yesterday and felt like I’d been run over by a bus! I’d love something like that for my armchair for my bad pain days! I think the wheels do lock, but I never use the locks because I like to adjust it and move it around quite a bit. I’m so glad that you found the video helpful, thanks for letting me know that! 💗
Yes, it does adjust up and down. I have it at the lowest height that it goes. It’s a shame that it doesn’t go just a little bit lower, but I still love it. 💝
oh no I'm sorry to hear about the technical issues! I started filming a sit down sketchbook tour the other day and over 1 hour in my camera died and corrupted all the footage, it's the worst 😭
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry. I know that feeling and it’s so frustrating. After this went on for a few days, I started to really get anxiety about what I was gonna do for software and filming, etc. I don’t think most people realize how difficult all the editing and tech stuff can be. I hope you’re able to re-film your Sketchbook tour successfully. 🙏📚💕

The colors in my palette are laid out with the palette held vertically because that’s the position I use it in my art nest.

@ I completely agree. It really can be tricky sometimes, this was a new camera and I’ve found new tech always comes with new problems. I managed to successfully re-film a few days later though thanks ☺️

Thanks for sending some love to Don! I read your comment to him and he liked it. Boy the tech issues lately have been incredible but the da Vinci resolve software helped me iron them out.
